Lucifer's vessel

Chapter 2: chapter 2: The execution

Derek was led to the execution ground, his wrists and ankles bound by heavy chains. The sun beat down on him, casting a golden glow over the sea of supernatural creatures gathered to witness his demise. The air was thick with tension, the silence oppressive.

The Alpha King stood on a raised platform, surveying the crowd before his eyes settled on Derek. "Today, we gather to witness the execution of Derek, accused of murdering our beloved queen," he declared, his voice ringing out across the silent crowd.

Derek's eyes scanned the crowd, searching for a glimpse of Lika, but she was nowhere to be found. His heart ached with sadness and betrayal. How could she believe him capable of such a heinous crime?

The Alpha King continued, "Derek's crimes are unforgivable, and his punishment will serve as a warning to all those who would dare challenge our laws." His words were met with a chorus of nods and murmurs of agreement.

As the Alpha King finished speaking, the executioner stepped forward, a wooden stake grasped in his meaty fist. Derek closed his eyes, steeling himself for the pain to come. He thought back to his time with Lika, to the laughter and the adventures they had shared. How had it come to this?

But just as the executioner was about to drive the stake through Derek's heart, something strange occurred. Derek's consciousness was suddenly sucked back into his mind, sending his awareness tumbling into a state of oblivion.

Meanwhile, his body was impaled on the stake, left to hang for all to see. The crowd gasped in shock and horror, but as the days passed, something even more astonishing happened.

Derek's body never decayed. It remained suspended on the stake, untouched by the ravages of time. The supernatural creatures gathered around, marveling at the phenomenon.

"What sorcery is this?" someone whispered.

"How can his body not decay?" another asked.

The Alpha King's face darkened with concern. "I do not know," he admitted, "but we will investigate this strange occurrence."

As the crowd dispersed, the Alpha King's advisors gathered around him, whispering urgent counsel. But the Alpha King's eyes remained fixed on Derek's body, a sense of foreboding growing in his chest.

"This is not natural," one of the advisors said, his voice trembling. "We must consult the ancient texts, see if there is any mention of such an occurrence."

The Alpha King nodded, his face grim. "Do it," he said. "I want to know what is going on here."

As the days turned into weeks, Derek's body remained suspended on the stake, a source of fascination and terror for the supernatural creatures. They whispered among themselves, speculating about the cause of this phenomenon.

Some said it was a sign of Derek's innocence, that the gods themselves were intervening on his behalf. Others claimed it was a sign of dark magic, that Derek had made a pact with some malevolent force.

But the truth remained a mystery, locked away in the recesses of Derek's mind.

Two weeks had passed since Derek's execution, and the supernatural creatures had grown accustomed to seeing his body suspended on the stake. But one morning, they awoke to find that it had vanished.

The Alpha King was furious when he heard the news. He summoned his guards and ordered them to search every inch of the kingdom, to leave no stone unturned until they found Derek's body.

The guards scoured the kingdom, searching high and low, but there was no sign of Derek's body. They searched the forests, the mountains, and the rivers, but it was as if he had disappeared into thin air.

As the sun began to set, the guards returned to the Alpha King, exhausted and defeated. "We couldn't find him, Your Majesty," one of them reported. "It's as if he vanished into nothingness."

The Alpha King's face darkened with anger and concern. "Continue searching," he ordered. "I want his body found, no matter what it takes."

But as the days turned into weeks,Derek's body remained lost, a mystery that seemed impossible to solve. The supernatural creatures began to whisper among themselves, speculating about what could have happened to him.

Some said he had been taken by the gods, others that he had been spirited away by dark magic. But the truth remained a mystery, locked away in the shadows, waiting to be revealed.
