89 – Job 2:4-6
Job 2:4-6
Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life. But stretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life.”
A red light off to the side of the gate turned green and the door opened finally allowing them into an open air courtyard.
The inside didn’t look any more welcoming than the outside did. With the high walls surrounding the place the only thing that gave away that they were in the middle of the ocean was the briny air. The comfort of the employees and inmates had obviously been the last of the concerns when designing the place.
A guard holding a tablet walked up to the driver side window. “State your purpose,” he said.
James held out their fake work order that was already added to their system. “We have a job scheduled at one,” James said.
The guard reviewed the information and called in a confirmation over his radio. “Ok everything seems in order,” he said.
The driver remained with their truck while James and his partner entered with their equipment on their backs.
Upon entering the main facility they went through another scan and pat down to check for any dangerous equipment or substances.
Thankfully due to Mio’s research into their security protocols they passed through without a hitch.
Mio using their earpieces guided them through navigating the facility. She helped them with acting like they were doing the job they were supposed to be doing for quite some time to lull them into a sense of security.
It was almost an hour into things when she finally alerted James that it was time to make their move. One of the guards that had a keycard to the higher security part of the facility was nearby. She set the cameras to a loop and guided him to the target while avoiding any other patrols. As far as security was aware James was still with his partner. Meanwhile his partner kept up their job to avoid suspicion.
With Mio’s assistance rather than sneaking he could walk through the facility like he owned the place. She would guide him to stop or detour whenever necessary. It wasn’t until he was around the corner from their target that he slowed down.
“Ok. Now we wait until he finishes his patrol of this hallway and hits the next one that has a utility closet. Strike quick and get him into the closet before anyone comes across you two,” she said.
When the guard neared the closet door James dashed behind him his steps whisper quiet as he neared.
The guard didn’t notice him until his hand closed over his mouth and nose blocking his airways and covered his eyes.
He struggled for almost a minute before his movements weakened eventually coming to a halt.
James quickly dragged him into the closet.
Once they were out of sight he injected something into his neck. It wasn’t anything harmful. Just a little concoction to ensure he wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon to alert the rest of security.
James sighed looking at the unconscious guard. ‘Now for my least favorite part,’ he thought.
He started stripping off the guard uniform before wearing it himself. Thankfully the guard wore a belt or it would be hard to keep the baggy pants from dropping.
“Ok, now just make sure you install the bug on his radio,” Mio warned.
He pocketed the badge and attached a small device to the port on the radio.
This would allow Mio to spoof the data of the radio and also she had a voice changer that would allow her to respond to the security room as if she were the guard. It wasn’t flawless since she only knew about the guards from what was in their files, but it was enough to buy time.
Now that he had made a move he needed to move faster. Mio quickly gave him the shortest safe route to the high security wing.
The security check was unmanned. Between the stolen keycard and Mio’s access to the system getting into the high security wing had become easy.
He had to go quite deep to get to the correct cell. They probably didn’t want her to spill any of their sensitive secrets to the other inmates even if they believed they would never be getting out of here.
When he got to the right cell he carefully pried the cover off the electronic lock and attached the burner phone that Mio had modified. She walked him through which wires to cut and how to splice the phone into the connection. Using it she was able to quickly crack the lock that wasn’t connected to the wider security system to prevent remote hacking.
His team had prepared everything to get him to this point. Now it was up to him to make the most of it.
He calmly walked into the bare cell.
He found an attractive woman with short purple hair with pink highlights. Her parted bangs came down to her collar bones. She wore an orange jumpsuit just like all the other prisoners, but the top half was unbuttoned and lowered revealing her bra below.
She was laying on her prison bed lazily with one leg crossed over the other with a bored expression.
When she noticed him she looked at him strangely. “It’s rude to just walk in unannounced. You’re not supposed to be here. What are you doing?” She asked.
“Well you aren’t covering up so it can’t be that serious,” he said.
Despite the surprise her expression remained passive as if she didn’t care what was happening. She just seemed to glance at him nonchalantly out of the corner of her eye as if she couldn’t even be bothered with him.
He could tell from the subtle shifts in posture that she was on guard and ready to attack at a moments notice.
He chuckled. “Not quite the welcome I expected, but I can’t say I blame you after how you’ve been treated so far,” he said.
She looked at him in surprise before her eyes narrowed. “What are you talking abou?” She asked.
“You don’t have to be so on guard. As far as the actual security guards watching the cameras are concerned I’m not here and this conversation isn’t happening,” he said.
James smirked from behind the mask. “Lady Nagant… No, Kaina Tsutsumi! What is it you desire most?” He asked.
