Lucian the Healer

Chapter 4: Four

Chapter 4

The next week

Lucian's POV

I got to school early. I walked into class, waved to some of my classmates and bumped knuckles.

Lily's seat was empty. That's strange —

"Where's she?"

"Um, have you seen Lily?" I asked the guy sitting behind me.

"No buddy, she hasn't come," he replied.

"Okay thanks."

I was getting worried. I glanced at my watch and it was already 8:03 am.

That's unusual, Lily never comes late.

Immediately, I felt a tingling pain in my eyes. Could it be Lily?

But Lily's eyes are normal and she doesn't have any eye issues.

Our Chemistry teacher walked into the class, starting the week's topic.

My mind still wasn't settled, I am still thinking of what could possibly go wrong.

At the school's canteen, I sat down to eat roasted potatoes and chicken sauce.

Midway to my meal, I heard a noise of screaming and shouting.

I ran quickly to the scene, a boy was lying down, on the ground wincing in pain: he was holding his right leg. I recognized him as the guy that sat behind me in class.

"What is wrong?" I asked a girl.

"He cracked his right leg when jumping from the stairs," she said.

"Oops," I mouthed.

The stairs in my school is really high and dangerous.

I stepped closer to the boy, he was in deep pain, groaning loudly.

I knelt beside him ignoring the shaking of my hands.

I placed my hands on his leg, removing his.

He looked questioningly at me.

I closed my eyes and I saw Lily's smiling face in my memory—she was telling me I can do it.

I opened my eyes slowly, absorbing his pain into me.

I could feel the piercing sharpness of the pain diving into me.

I bit my lower lip so I won't cry — It was really terrible.

I removed my hands a while later, falling to the ground. "My leg hurts a lot!"

The boy touched his leg and the pain was gone. He stood up to the surprise of everyone.

"I feel good, the pain is gone," he said.

"What did you do?" he asked me.

"I did nothing," I replied.

He helped me stand up, my leg was sore and I found it hard to raise the leg.

The boy and my friends helped me back to my seat. They sat with me, looking at me strangely.
