Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Awakening and "his" presence
Alistair's eyes fluttered open.
For a moment, he simply stared at the wooden ceiling above him, his mind sluggish from the transition between nothingness and existence. The scent of aged wood and faint traces of ink filled his nostrils, grounding him in the present.
He sat up, the rough texture of the woolen blanket slipping off his body as he took in his surroundings. The room was modest—wooden walls, a sturdy desk pushed against the far wall, and a small bookshelf filled with tattered tomes. A single window let in pale morning light, illuminating specks of dust floating in the air.
Swinging his legs off the bed, Alistair stood and stretched, feeling the unfamiliarity of his new body. He caught sight of a small mirror resting atop a drawer and made his way towards it, curiosity blooming in his chest.
Staring back at him was a young man, likely seventeen or eighteen, with sharp black eyes and tousled dark hair. His face was striking—handsome yet possessing an air of quiet cunning. His build was slender, but he could sense the underlying strength coursing through his limbs, a body refined for agility and endurance rather than brute force.
His eyes flickered downward, tracing the contours of his arm until they landed on something unusual—a tattoo. A serpent, coiled in an intricate loop, adorned his upper arm, its scales detailed with eerie precision. He instinctively placed his fingers over it, channeling a thread of spirituality into the mark.
Immediately, his consciousness shifted.
The world around him dissolved, replaced by a vast and crystalline landscape. He stood amidst a shimmering forest, where translucent trees stretched towards an endless void. Each tree exuded a faint, enigmatic glow as crystalline fruit gruit grew from them—their was sixteen trees in total, forming two perfect rows. But three trees shone brighter than the rest, its luminescence pulsing like a beating heart.
Beyond the crystalline grove, his gaze fell upon a grand construct—a high circular chamber atop an unseen foundation. In its center lay a long red crystalline table, flanked by high-backed chairs. Two ends stood opposite each other, giving the space an almost ritualistic presence.
Alistair willed himself forward, and in the next instant, he was seated in one of the crystalline chairs at the head of the table. Before him rested a single object—a sealed letter. Without hesitation, he picked it up and broke the seal.
The parchment unfurled, revealing the elegant yet weighty script of the cosmic entity:
[Welcome, Alistair Henry.
You have been placed in the second Epoch, an era of hidden horrors and grand ambitions. Be wary—the world of mysteries is unforgiving, and even the smallest misstep can lead to eternal doom.
Due to the nature of your knowledge and the path you will walk, I have granted you a Sequence 2 Beyonder Characteristic from your Liberty Pathway and its and two other payhways uniqueness. However, its power is currently sealed and will be gradually unlocked over the next three years, hence I propose you act fast to secure acechars to not lose controle.]
Lastly note that your Sefirot has a multitude of functions with u being able to unlock more and more of then as you grow curantly at your level of a Sequence five their is a limite to your connection with the Sefirot hence your abilities with it will be limited though you will be able to receive a sudel boost to your ability.
Your journey begins now. Do not disappoint.]
A faint chuckle echoed in his mind, the unmistakable trace of the entity's amusement lingering even after the words faded from the page.
Alistair leaned back, processing the implications of what he had just read. The Third Epoch. He had been placed in an era where gods and kings clashed, where ancient organizations schemed from the shadows, and where death was but a single miscalculation away.
And he… he was now a Beyonder of the Liberty Pathway.
His mind raced, recalling everything he knew about the pathway. The Liberty Pathway was a path of absolute freedom, unshackled by conventional restrictions. It allowed its users to reject fate, bend reality in ways that defied logic, and carve their own destiny free from the dictates of the world.
Alistair exhaled slowly, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
Even though he was only at Sequence 5, the Liberty Pathway's abilities were already incredible. Curantly within a certain range he had the capability of a Sequence 1 of the visionary Pathway. He was untethered, a wild force walking through the tides of history.
And above all, the knowledge that he possessed a sealed Sequence 2 characteristic meant that in three years, he would ascend to heights beyond mortal comprehension thought he still needed the corisonding anchors.
"Interesting," he murmured, his voice laced with amusement.
His fingers tapped against the crystalline table. The Third Epoch was dangerous, but it was also an era of opportunity. And with the powers of the Liberty Pathway, he had no intention of being bound by anything—not by fate, not by history, and certainly not by the gods themselves.
Alistair stood, his vision shifting as the crystalline world faded back into reality. He found himself once more in the wooden room, staring at his reflection in the mirror.
The game had begun.
And he was ready to play.
As this thought ran through his mind he began to focus he began to fuse his mind more with the sefirot as he conjured a brass pen and a pieace of paper as he did this he began to speak in a low yet authoritative tone.
"The abiltes of the Sefirot"
"The abilities of the Sefirot"
"The abilities of the Sefirot"
"The abilities of the Sefirot"
"The abilities of the Sefirot"
"The abilities of the Sefirot"
"The abilities of the Sefirot"
As I repeated this phrase the seventh time I entered a dream like state instantly as images flased before my eyes one after another shattering after being seen after a few minutes of viewing the image my mind became more clearer as I left the dream divination.
The curant abilities of my Sefirot where not suited towards direct combat but where definitely helpfully, the curant abilities being the ability to enter the Sefirot with your physical body as long as one has a minute amount of Godhood, this ability alone coupled with my future Sequence four abilty of the Liberty Pathway would be a terrifying combination but the second abilty was even more terrifying allowing me to grant boons from any Pathway within the Sefirot.
This abilty could be seen as a free ticket to starting one's own church or group without fear, within a organization once a member is killed many secrets and weaknesses may be exposed due one factor, the dropping of Beyonder characteristics once a Beyonder characteristic is dropped by a member of a organization information can be learned about the organizations Pathway and weaknesses.
But a boon from the Sefirot was diffent as it directly gave one the ability of a Beyonder Characteristic and not the actual characteristic, making cover-ups and information concealment more effective.
With my satisfaction saturated with the knowledge about my Sefirot,my attention turned towards the other uniquenesses which was accommodated with my body as I did this my mind became calm as I began analyzing my sprit body soon after a few minutes of analysis I finally understood which pathways uniqueness other than thr Liberty Pathway uniqueness was accommodated them being the Filth and Mirage Pathway uniqueness which took the form of a red glove and mirror shard within my sprite body while the Liberty uniqueness took the form of a touch.
After a few more minutes of analysis my spirituality reached near thirty the percent mark, upon doing so I instantly returned to reality as to not put myself in a situation of losing control as my Sequence five characteristic has not yet been digested.
Soon the image infront of Me shifted as I once more returned to my room in the wooden house, without hesitation I walked out of my room to see the rest of my house then the outside.
At that very moment unknown to alister a man stood next to him observing his every move and motion "he" looked at alister with his blue eyes as "his" form seemed to merge with "his" soundings as "his" white robe, blond hair with black shriks and handsome face was unmoving till "he" saw alister leave the room, upon seeing this "he" smiled gently.
