Lost in the Otherworld

Visit the murderous house at night 36(1)

In the dead of night, just outside Gujia Village, within the small forest.

After vomiting, Wang Zikai fell into a deep sleep. Fat Jun tried to treat him, but it didn’t help much. Fat Jun’s healing talent was only at level two, primarily focused on accelerating the healing of external wounds in a short time.

When it came to Wang Zikai’s "poisoning" symptoms, Fat Jun was powerless.

After such an ordeal, none of them dared to stay in Gujia Village, but there was no way out, so they pretended to leave and hid in the forest. Everyone was exhausted, both physically and mentally, tormented by uncertainty. No one knew how long they would be trapped in this eerie place, nor what might happen next.

Officer Huang suggested they rest in pairs, taking turns to conserve energy. Everyone agreed.

Gao Yang teamed up with Qing Ling, and Officer Huang with Fat Jun. They rotated every two hours.

All afternoon, the sounds of opera, gongs, suona horns, and firecrackers echoed continuously from the direction of Gujia Village, filling the small forest with the peculiar atmosphere of an isolated, primitive society. It only quieted down by dusk.

Not long after nightfall, Wang Zikai stirred. He turned over with a groan, as if he hadn’t slept enough, and drifted back to sleep. His condition seemed less like poisoning and more akin to being drunk.

None of this surprised Gao Yang. Whatever Wang Zikai had eaten, he was a beast, after all—it wasn’t so easy to take him down.

Gao Yang closed his eyes, opened the system, and checked his luck points, which had accumulated to 25.

From yesterday at two in the afternoon until the night visit to the ancestral hall, when they were caught by the hair monster, about eight hours had passed, earning him 8 luck points as usual. Upon arriving in the "second" Gujia Village, starting from noon, another eight hours had passed, but the rewards had doubled, granting him 16 luck points, for a total of 24.

As for the extra luck point, it must have come during the time he was unconscious. Estimating, he figured he hadn’t been unconscious for more than half an hour after falling into the well.

“What are you thinking about?” came Qing Ling’s voice.

Gao Yang opened his eyes, exiting the system realm.

“Nothing,” he replied, pinching Qing Ling’s cheek.

“Are you addicted to that?” Qing Ling asked, annoyed.

“Don’t misunderstand. It's been more than 12 hours; I can copy talents again,” Gao Yang said earnestly. “As it turns out, Officer Huang’s Gun God isn’t as useful as your Blade God...”

Before he could finish, Gao Yang suddenly propped himself up with his hands, his blood surging, breathing heavily.

“What’s wrong now?” Qing Ling asked.

“N-nothing.” A few seconds later, Gao Yang waved it off, his face flushed. “Just now, all of a sudden… it felt really good.”

Qing Ling blinked in surprise. “Your talent has leveled up.”

【Congratulations! Copy: Upgraded】

【Level 2 Copy: Can replicate any talent ranked below serial number 25】

【Copy method: Touch the target for 0.9 seconds】

【Copy quantity: 1. Storage time: 3 hours】

【Usage time: 10 seconds. Cooldown: 8 hours】

【Permanent attributes gained from Level 2 Copy: Mental Power +100, Charisma -20】

【Stamina: 27. Endurance: 28】

【Strength: 17. Agility: 27】

【Mental Power: 137. Charisma: 47】

【Luck: 132】

【Note: Does not stack with permanent attributes from Level 1 Copy】

Gao Yang nodded. “Yes, my Copy talent has reached Level 2.”

Qing Ling pondered for a moment. “It seems the upgrade from Level 1 to Level 2 is purely based on proficiency. My Blade God and Metal talents both leveled up after a few uses.”
