Lost in the Otherworld

End of test 49(2)

In the blink of an eye, Qing Ling had "returned."

She showed no surprise at the scene before her, as if she had never left. Snatching the bottle of mineral water from Gao Yang's hand, she tipped her head back and drained it in one gulp.

Then, her sharp gaze locked onto Tengu. “Give me back my blade.”

Tengu was holding Qing Ling’s Tang blade, his tone laced with faint admiration. “This is quite a blade—clean kills, effortless control, clearly imbued with rune circuitry.”

Tengu tossed the blade back to Qing Ling. “Who gave it to you?”

Qing Ling deftly wiped the blade with her fingertip, folding it neatly into her palm, hiding it away.

She replied to Tengu, “A friend.”

“Your friend…”

“Dead.”

“Oh.” Tengu, sensing the weight of the conversation, didn’t pry further. He yawned, seeming a bit drowsy. “All done here. White Rabbit, Electric Mouse, you two handle the aftermath.”

“No problem,” Wu Dahai responded.

“Little Lamb, let’s go.”

Little Lamb glanced at Gao Yang, then at Tengu, caught in a moment of indecision. In the end, she ran to Tengu, who lifted her onto his shoulder with ease.

“Goodbye, Brother Gao Yang,” Little Lamb waved to him.

“Goodbye,” Gao Yang waved back, suddenly reminded of his sister, Gao Xinxin. She had been just as sweet and obedient when she was little. But now... better left unsaid.

Tengu, defying gravity, began to ascend slowly. Dead Pig, awakening from his nap, instinctively reached out and grabbed hold of a white band that Tengu let down, floating upwards with him. It was clear that Tengu had limits—when Dead Pig joined him in the ascent, his speed visibly slowed.

“Incredible. Each one more extraordinary than the last,” Fat Jun, knowing his place as a minor character, had kept silent until now. With the atmosphere much lighter, he couldn’t resist flattering the elites.

“Flattery won’t help. Only those three are confirmed for full membership. You and Wang Zikai are still interns,” White Rabbit said.

“No worries! It’s an honor just to be part of the company, even as an intern!” Fat Jun replied with a fawning smile. Though he had just narrowly escaped death, he had found his backers and secured a safe haven—no more living in constant fear.

“Tengu has dual talents—Flight, Serial No. 29, and Spatial Slicing, Serial No. 14. Both talents fall under the 'Space-Time' rune category.”

White Rabbit continued, playing the commentator, “His talents are only at level three right now, but even that is impressive. All internal members have their talents publicly known. We’ll go over everything with you in due time.”

“White Rabbit, right?” Wang Zikai called out.

“What is it?” White Rabbit turned.

“Can you check my talent serial number? I’m sure I’m top three material,” Wang Zikai’s eyes gleamed with excitement.

Gao Yang had already introduced himself to White Rabbit, who smiled, her almond eyes curving like two crescent moons. “Your talent is Destiny, Serial No. 0—the strongest in history, without question.”

“Holy crap! Really?!” Wang Zikai was beside himself with joy. He knew he was strong, but this was beyond his wildest dreams.

“Of course. Your talent’s abilities are profound and unpredictable, even I don’t fully understand it,” White Rabbit chuckled. “But one thing’s for sure—it’s world-shattering.”

Gao Yang nearly wanted to applaud White Rabbit’s impressive performance—she was a natural.

“Alright, alright!” White Rabbit clapped her hands to get everyone’s attention. “I’m sure you still have plenty of questions about this mission in Gujia Village, but we’ll go over it later. For now, let’s get out of here.”

“Are we flying out too?” Gao Yang asked.

“No need,” White Rabbit turned back, “We’ll take another exit.”
