Lord of the Time: I Can Reincarnate Infinitely

Chapter 480: 480: Galactic Knights

From the enemy's perspective, the situation was increasingly infuriating. In the shadowed war room of the humanoid scorpion team, their leader slammed a clawed hand onto the table, his carapace quivering with rage.

"Those sneaky Earthlings! Every time we think we've got them, they slip through our pincers like sand!" he hissed, his tail lashing in frustration. "And those damned traps of theirs! We lost three units to explosions that came out of nowhere!"

His second-in-command, a slightly smaller scorpion with keen eyes, added, "And their shields, sir, they're like nothing we've encountered. Our attacks just bounce off them, as if they're teasing us."

Meanwhile, another team, this one made up of creatures with chameleon-like abilities, approached one of Caleb's team's resource points. They believed their color-changing skin and stealth techniques would protect them from detection and the dreaded traps.

"Watch and learn," the chameleon leader whispered, his skin shifting to match the rocky terrain. "We'll sneak in and out before they even know we were there."

As they neared the resource point, they were confident, their bodies blending seamlessly with the environment. But just as they were about to celebrate their successful approach, the ground beneath them erupted. Hidden sensors, undeterred by their camouflage, had triggered a net of sticky, electrified tendrils, ensnaring the chameleon team in a shocking embrace.

"Dang it!" the leader cursed, struggling as the tendrils constricted. "How did they anticipate this?!"

Back at their base, the trapped chameleon team could only hang their heads in embarrassment, their pride as stealth experts severely wounded.

"We used our best genetic abilities, yet we were caught like flies in a web," one team member lamented, still picking bits of the sticky net from his scales.

Their leader, now a mottled shade of pink with shame, grumbled, "We underestimated them. Those Earthlings and their traps are making a mockery of our skills. It's not just their strength; it's their cunning. We need a new strategy, or we'll keep falling right into their hands, literally!"

...

In a strategy room, an opposing team, a group of tactically minded cyborgs, analyzed Caleb's team's maneuvers with grudging admiration and high-tech scanning tools.

"Their defensive grid," started the cyborg commander, pointing to a 3D holographic model of Caleb's territory, "is interlinked with energy shields that not only protect but also redirect incoming fire. Genius, really. It turns our own strength against us."

His lieutenant, zooming in on the map, highlighted the trap zones. "And these traps are not random. They've placed them in a pattern that funnels attackers into kill zones. It's like they're herding sheep to the slaughter."

The team's analyst, tapping away at a console, added, "Their resource acquisition strategy is equally impressive. They use a multiplier effect, capturing points in a sequence that maximizes their returns. It's not just brute force; it's calculated economic warfare."

The commander leaned back, eyes narrowing. "They've turned the battlefield into a chessboard. Every move we make plays into their hands. We need to think several steps ahead, or we're just pawns in their game."

Meanwhile, on the main leaderboard display in the arena's central hub, the rankings flashed brightly, showing the top ten teams:

1. Galactic Knights - 12,500 points

2. Nebula Navigators - 11,800 points

3. Earth Team (Caleb's Team) - 10,650 points

4. Ufotan Vanguard - 10,300 points

5. Scorpion Syndicate - 9,750 points

6. Chameleon Stealth Squad - 9,500 points

7. Cyborg Strategists - 9,250 points

8. Phoenix Fire Wings - 8,800 points

9. Draconian Defenders - 8,350 points

10. Meteoric Monks - 8,000 points

The scoreboard showed a tight race, with Caleb's team, the Earth Team, impressively holding the third spot, their rapid ascent a topic of discussion and analysis among all competitors.

"The Earth Team is climbing fast," noted the Cyborg commander, observing the scoreboard. "They're strategic, resourceful, and adaptable. We underestimated them at our peril." Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire

In the bustling command center of the Galactic Knights, the top-ranked team, the atmosphere was electric. Their leader, a charismatic figure with a silver mane, outlined their grand strategy with precision.

"Our objective," he declared, "is to maintain our lead by securing the Dual Moons of Graviton. Their gravitational anomalies can power our defenses to near invincibility. Control them, and we control the game."

Meanwhile, the Nebula Navigators, ranked second, had gathered in their sleek, star-map-filled war room. "Our goal is to disrupt the resource chains of the top teams," their captain, a brilliant tactician with glowing eyes, explained. "We hit their supply lines, we throw them into chaos, and climb to the top in the confusion."

The Earth Team, holding the third spot, focused on leveraging their newfound strengths. "We keep building on our stealth and trap strategy," Caleb said, grinning. "Let's make sure anyone who tries to take us down gets a nasty surprise. We'll climb to the top one exploded enemy at a time!"

The fourth-ranked Ufotan Vanguard, known for their disciplined approach, was in a strategy session. "Our path to victory lies in alliances," their leader, a venerable figure robed in light, stated. "We must form pacts with lower-ranked teams, offering them protection in exchange for their support against the top contenders."

In fifth place, the Scorpion Syndicate was plotting revenge. "We need to reclaim our honor," the leader hissed, his tail flickering menacingly. "We'll launch a full-scale assault on the Earth Team. They embarrassed us, and now we obliterate them."

The scene shifted to the battlefield, where the Galactic Knights faced off against the Ufotan Vanguard. The Knights, in a display of overwhelming power and strategy, executed a flawless maneuver that outflanked the Vanguard's defenses.

Using a combination of brute force and cunning, the Knights penetrated the Vanguard's shield array with a coordinated strike, led by their leader's command of the gravitational waves from the Dual Moons. The Ufotan Vanguard, caught off-guard by the sudden and precise attack, could only watch as their defenses crumbled under the Knights' superior firepower and tactics.

...

Post-defeat, the mood in the Ufotan Vanguard camp was grim. They'd been eliminated from the game, their aspirations dashed by the overpowering might of the Galactic Knights.

"Dammit, we were outplayed at every turn," groaned the Ufotan leader, his luminous face dim with defeat. "Their understanding of the gravitational fields was... impeccable."

Back at the leaderboard, the gap between the Galactic Knights and the other teams had widened significantly. Their victory over the Ufotan Vanguard had not only secured them valuable points but also sent a clear message of their dominance.

In the Earth Team's strategy room, Caleb was deep in analysis, watching replays of the Galactic Knights' maneuvers. "These guys are no joke," Caleb admitted, pointing at the screen where the Knights executed a flawless gravitational slingshot attack. "They use the Dual Moons' gravity like it's a damn slingshot, hurling attacks and speeding up their defenses. Fucking brilliant, really."

He paused the playback, zooming in on a Knight commander. "See this dude? He's like a gravitational wizard, bending the damn space around him to shield his team and screw with the enemy. We need a counter for that."

Mia, taking notes, added, "And their fleet coordination is top-notch. They move as one unit, like a school of fish evading a predator. We need to disrupt that unity."

Leo, analyzing the Knights' formation, suggested, "A decoy strategy might work. Draw them in, then hit them from multiple directions. Test their cohesion."

Caleb nodded, "Good point. Plus, we should keep an eye on their resource points. If we can mess with their supply lines, we might just throw them off their game."

"Alright, team," Caleb concluded, a determined glint in his eye, "we've got our work cut out for us. Those Knights are sitting pretty right now, but we're gonna shake their throne. Let's get to work and show them we're not just here to play; we're here to win."

As for ending the game early with Caleb's absolute strength? Caleb doesn't intend to do so. He wants to have fun and use his brain more to solve problems and plot against his enemies.
