Chapter 337: 337: Stage 10: Dying Old Man
Jeff has a faint smile on his face as if he just hasn't said something depressing.
"I'm dying, my son. I'm not joking. I have stage 10 cancer. And only my powerful strength and body were barely able to hold it. But I surmise that 30 years from now on, I'm gonna die..."
"You know, for powerful genetic warriors, 30 years is just like months. So, before all that, I want to train one of my grandsons to take my position. I don't want my hard-earned position to be in someone's hands. It should be on my family."
"Of course, I know how unrealistic my wishes are. The only thing I know is Klein and Delvin are not that qualified enough to be trained by me. Or even if I trained them, they won't reach the requirements needed to take my position." "So I can only give up my original wish. So I'm just here and returned just to spend my time with you guys before I die. To at least make up for all the years that I'm not in here. To spend my time as an ordinary dying old man at least a family." he said with a calm expression. He took a deep breath and continued:
"Although it pains me to give up the position to other people hence I can't do anything. But now..." Jeff looked at Adam with a glint in his eyes and excited expression.
Caleb shuddered when he saw the look of fire in his grandfather's eyes. He knew that it was the look of expectation that summons a person, a strong expectation for him to take his positions. However, Caleb felt conflicted in his heart. Does he want to take his grandfather's myriad of positions? Although he had to say that those positions are really quite awesome and sound powerful, it would give him authority and power over huge organizations. However, he can't really bring them to the next world, right? Well, actually, he also kind of wants to experience how to sit in a position of power.
So, Caleb doesn't feel that much unwilling to take his grandfather's position. He knew that with those positions, he would acquire more resources and a lot more conveniences in what he was about to do in the future.
He wasn't willing to just stay in the Philippines. He wants to venture out of the universe and fight stronger opponents, obtain higher quality fusion materials for him to fuse legendary items or legendary creatures, or even fuse legendary bloodlines to himself.
Only by going out of the universe and having a strong authority on the earth would that be possible. And he knew it!
Caleb stared at his grandfather, at this time, with a smile. Since he had already thought about this, his grandfather became more pleasing to his eye at this moment.
"But father, Adam is still young. He can't possibly take important positions like that. What if the other people that want their position, those big figures whose words can affect thousands or even millions of people, decided to kill him or send top-tier assassins to him?"
Caleb's father gritted his teeth.
"Huh. Son..." Jeff, with an expression full of mockery, shook his head with disappointment. "Son, you're still not that... have that spirit, you know? What? What's the matter? Don't you have confidence in your son? He's transcendent. Not even a hundred extraordinary warriors could bring him down to his knees!"
"Below transcendent, everything is just insects. Don't forget that. So, have faith in your son. The fate of the family and this country rests on his shoulders."
He's a young dragon that is bound to soar in the and spread his wings, you know? Maybe one day he would even surpass my realm. He's just in his twenties yet he's already transcendent..."
Jeff glanced at Caleb as he said this and smiled.
"Compared with my old friends who were already thousand or even one thousand six hundred eight years old like that bastard Clint. Clint is already one thousand seven hundred eighty-one years old yet he's just transcendent."
"Well, being transcendent at that age is already considered a powerhouse. Yet, look at your son. He's just twenty years old. Don't underestimate him!" Jeff emphasized every word with strong meaning.
So, on the other hand, Caleb felt that his grandfather's impression of him and expectations of him were just fucking too high. But he understood why so. What they didn't know was that he had a fusion system surpassing his grandfather's realm. It won't even take five years or three years for him with the help of his fusion system! "Grandfather, you have stage ten cancer?"
"Yes, my grandson." Jeff sighed with a helpless expression.
"Stage ten cancer is not something our technology could cure today. Even though I spent millions of dollars to get the help of special doctors and even those genetic warriors who have healing abilities. But there's just no way..."
"It can't be cured. Stages five to seven are still doable. Unfortunately, because I'm in a higher realm, the cancer has reached grade stage seven, but I haven't felt anything because I'm too strong. My body did not feel the cancer because stage seven cancer was too weak. Yet now, because of that, it made it advance to stage ten without me knowing. Now I'm about to die..."
The good thing is, that Caleb's grandfather was a realm higher than transcendent, which gave him a qualitative increase in health. And his immune system was strong enough to suppress the stage 10 cancer to last him for another 30 years.
But even then, 30 years wasn't that long. It can be seen just how terrifying stage 10 cancer is. 'What the hell? Is there a stage 10 cancer in this world? This fucking world is really too advanced!'
'In the original earth where I came from, the cancer is only up to stage 4.'
'Sigh, there's really a lot of difference in this earth from that earth.'
Caleb complained inwardly. However, he couldn't understand why even the advanced technology in this world couldn't cure stage 10 cancer. After all, it's not only technology that's advanced, even diseases also advanced. It's quite funny once you think about it, but that's life.
