Lord of the Mysteries: I'm Not Evil God

Chapter 25: Chapter 21: Message

Chapter 21: Message

Perspective: Unknown / Virelen

Three figures sat before the Mirror of the Witness.

They did not speak.

They had no need to.

They were not enemies.

They were not strangers.

They were all the same person — refractions of the same soul, born in different memories, cloaked in different names.

Time was running out.

Their fusion was inevitable.

But unlike other gods who warred with their inner fragments — like Adam and the True Creator — they did not seek to defeat one another.

They sought something far more dangerous:

The truth.

And the Mirror — that ancient artifact forged from reality's memory — was willing to show them.

The Mirror Began to Glow

Not with fire.

Not with illusion.

But with unvarnished origin.

And within its surface appeared a single moment:

The beginning.

Virelen's POV

"The Day I Became a God"

I became a god.

That should have meant something.

Glory. Transcendence. Apotheosis.

Something divine.

But instead…

I felt nothing.

Not joy.

Not fear.

Not even pain.

Only hollowness, stretching out like a void where my name used to be.

I floated in a realm of lightless fog, no stars, no prayers, no sense of direction. Just… presence.

Then—

a flicker in the air.

A soundless ding.

A screen appeared before me.

[SYSTEM INITIALIZING…]

Welcome, [Virelen].

Status: [God] – Non-Catalogued

Pathway: [Unrecognized]

Host Type: [Self-Fabricated Authority]

Integration Status: [Pending]

Risk Level: [Unknown]

I blinked.

A part of me tried to laugh.

The other part remembered laughing was a human thing.

Then another message scrolled in.

[PRIVATE MESSAGE | Origin Protocol]

Hello, and congratulations —

If you're seeing this, you've done the impossible.

You've become a god in the world of Lord of the Mysteries…

Problem: You are a god who does not exist in any known sequence.

So to anchor your existence and pathway into the world without shattering the divine fabric, this sequence and System was created.

Good news:

You won't go mad from contamination.

No Outer Deities will whisper you into insanity.

You won't become a puppet to the Unknown.

Bad news:

Your existence is a lie.

A beautiful, living, powerful lie.

Therefore, your identity, history, and even your humanity…

Will be gradually lost.

There was a pause.

Then more lines appeared, as if added by someone else… less official.

More... amused.

[PERSONAL NOTE FROM SYSTEM ARCHITECT]

Yeah, I know. Harsh.

So, I got a little sentimental.

I left you some gifts.

But you can't open them all right away — you'll need to complete Main Quests first.

A little incentive to keep going, you know?

Oh, and I threw in a Beginner Pack.

You'll need it more than you think.

And one last thing…

Please.

Entertain us.

I stared at the screen.

Words scrolled by like flickers of forgotten dreams.

So this is what it means to be a god born of a wish.

A god not written in fate, but stitched into it.

A god who must justify his own existence.

The fog around me pulsed.

Somewhere far off, a mirror cracked.

And I realized:

This wasn't ascension.

This was the beginning of a very long, very lonely story.

And the world wasn't waiting for me.

It was watching.
