Chapter 7: The Goblin’s Hollow
The road back to Reed's domain was long, but the victory still burned fresh in his mind.
He wasn't supposed to survive.
The system had thrown him into the dirt, given him the weakest title, the weakest summons, the weakest start. But now?
He had nobles marching in chains and goblins dragging sacks of stolen gold and weapons behind them.
Reed had conquered.
And this was just the first step.
The Goblin's Hollow was exactly as pathetic as its name suggested.
It wasn't a castle. It wasn't a fortress. It was a crumbling cave system tucked in the middle of a rotting forest. The land was barren, the air thick with the stench of damp stone and death.
Goblins crawled out from the shadows as Reed and his forces arrived, their beady eyes blinking in confusion.
To them, he was still new. Still just a name given by the system.
They had no idea who he really was.
Reed stepped forward, raising his voice. "I am your lord now."
Some goblins growled. A few bared their teeth.
Shia stepped beside him, daggers drawn. "Would you like me to prove it to them, my lord?"
Reed smirked. "No need."
He grabbed the nearest goblin by the throat.
The creature screeched, clawing at his arm—until Reed snapped its neck.
The body crumpled to the ground.
Silence.
Reed looked at the rest. "Any other objections?"
The goblins immediately knelt.
Fear.
It was a language they understood well.
Inside the caves, Reed took stock of his new army.
Goblins: 67 (F-Rank)
Evolved Goblins: 5 (E-Rank)
Human Slaves: 12
It wasn't much. Not yet.
But he knew how to break the system.
Shia knelt beside him. "What's next, my lord?"
Reed looked over his forces, his mind already working.
Goblins were weak. That was fact. But weakness could be fixed.
He smirked.
"We make them stronger."
