Lord of the Foresaken

Chapter 14: A Monster Among Lords

The battlefield was silent.

Bodies of Lord Ervan's soldiers littered the ground, their blood soaking the dirt. A few goblins feasted on the corpses, growling at each other like animals. Others danced around the fires, celebrating their victory.

Shia stood at the center of it all, her daggers dripping red.

The corpse of Ervan's Hero lay at her feet.

And Reed?

He sat on a fallen soldier's shield, watching the aftermath with cold amusement.

They had won.

The world thought Heroes were untouchable.

Tonight, Reed had shattered that illusion.

A system message flickered before his eyes.

[Lord Ervan's Army Has Been Defeated!]

[War Contribution: 92%]

[Goblin Horde Has Absorbed Battle Experience – Multiple Evolutions Triggered]

Reed stood, stretching. "How many goblins survived?"

Shia wiped her daggers clean. "We lost fifteen."

Reed glanced at his forces. Even after casualties, he had more than he started with.

Because now?

His goblins were stronger.

[Current Forces]

• Goblins (F-Rank): 50

• Evolved Goblins (E-Rank): 40

• Goblin Berserkers (D-Rank): 12

• Goblin Champions (C-Rank): 3 (NEW!)

• Shia (Hero – Rank D, Newly Evolved)

Reed's eyes narrowed at the Goblin Champions.

Three goblins had grown taller, broader—standing nearly as tall as humans now. Their crude weapons were gone, replaced with stolen swords. Their eyes weren't dull and stupid anymore.

They were hunters.

This was proof.

The system could be broken.

Goblins were meant to stay F-Rank forever.

Reed had forced them to evolve.

He exhaled slowly. Good.

But this was only the start.

He turned to Shia. "How long until the other lords notice what we've done?"

Shia smirked. "They already have."

Reed raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

She tossed him a bloodstained letter. "One of Ervan's knights had this on him. He wasn't just coming to kill us—he was reporting back."

Reed scanned the letter.

A meeting. A gathering of nearby lords. They wanted to "discuss the growing goblin threat."

He chuckled. "They're scared."

Shia grinned. "Terrified."

Reed crushed the letter in his fist.

If they wanted a war, he'd bring them one.

He looked over his growing army. Goblins weren't weak anymore.

The nobles thought they could rule the world?

Reed would burn it down around them.

The Goblin Lord wasn't just surviving anymore.

He was taking everything.
