Chapter142-Warhog Dominator, Pierce Duminas!
What was meant to be a testing ground for Daniel seemed to have turned into her own hellish nightmare.
Behind her, the creature's presence grew ominously closer.
A chill crept up Nine's spine, prompting her to whip around.
The creature was still crawling on the ground at a snail's pace, about thirty to forty meters from her.
At this rate, there was no way it could harm her.
The fierce blaze continued to rage, spreading to the third floor.
The entire mall resembled a fiery hell – magnificent yet terrifying.
Nine darted through the flames, desperate to find an escape.
However, she failed to notice the threads that had begun to envelop her neck.
From a corner near the distant staircase, Daniel watched intently, observing the changes in Nine.
As the threads on her neck multiplied, her movements began to slow down, as if a weight was pressing on her.
Nine felt it too.
Why had her body become so heavy all of a sudden?
Her movements were no longer nimble, and her limbs felt unresponsive.
A realization struck her. "Damn it, I've been attacked!"
She beckoned with a finger, activating her power.
Immediately, Jack swiftly moved to her side, awaiting instructions.
"Locate Daniel, now!" Nine commanded, her voice echoing so loudly that even Daniel, several meters away, could hear it clearly.
Had Jack become an Evolver too?
And did his ability pertain to locating individuals?
Daniel watched closely, seeing Jack crouch to the ground like a hound, his nose intently sniffing the air.
So soon?!
To Daniel's shock, Jack's gaze locked onto his location.
A realization seemed to hit Nine, her anger palpable.
"Daniel, is this all your doing?!"
With his cover blown, Daniel saw no point in hiding any longer.
As he emerged from the corner, Nine's suspicions solidified.
"I offered you a chance to be reborn, but you chose to betray and kill me. Therefore, you must die!" Nine's words rang out, echoing like a dire proclamation.
In the next moment, Jack roared like a wild beast, charging towards Daniel with long strides.
Daniel remained unfazed, knowing there was still the creature standing between them.
Nine realized this too and quickly issued a new command, "Deal with that creature first, you foolish thing!"
Obeying her command, Jack instantly shifted direction.
His massive form, resembling a meaty cannonball, barreled towards the crawling monster.
Though the creature couldn't quite discern the nature of the approaching mass, it keenly sensed the animosity it bore.
With just a thought, it launched its attack.
Thin threads, almost imperceptible to the naked eye, pierced out from its body.
Like agile serpents, they lashed out, biting viciously towards Jack.
Daniel could see it clearly – Jack was no match for the creature.
Swish, swish, swish!
Sure enough, the threads effortlessly penetrated Jack's flesh, embedding themselves deep within.
A multitude of these threads traversed through the smoke and flames to cover Jack's entire body.
Within moments, they disappeared.
The next second, Jack turned around, his expression vacant as he stared at Nine.
As the creature emitted a peculiar sound, Jack, as if commanded, lunged at Nine.
Nine's face stiffened as she hastily retreated, disregarding the roaring flames and moving backward with all her might.
Suddenly, the creature's pace quickened, furiously chasing after her.
However, after breaking through a wall of flames, it found no trace of Nine.
Then, clang!
A resounding noise echoed.
A massive black iron cage descended from above.
Its steel bars, thicker than a human's arm, trapped the creature within.
Keer —!!!
Realizing it had been outsmarted, the creature bellowed in rage.
It desperately slammed against the cage, but its sturdy construction wasn't something raw strength could break.
The creature was now entirely contained.
Emerging from the smoke, Nine walked forward, a confident smirk playing on her lips.
"I originally planned to let Daniel wear down this beast. Never expected I'd have to step in. Luckily, I always have a backup plan."
Amid the flickering flames, Nine's eyes shone with an icy brilliance, emanating an eerie and ominous aura.
"Beast, look into my eyes!"
The next instant, the creature's body tensed up.
It obediently stood before the cage, locking eyes with Nine.
From a distance, Daniel watched the scene, frozen in disbelief.
This woman's power seemed to extend far beyond mere enchantment.
Just as the creature appeared to fall under Nine's control, the distant air was pierced by several whistling sounds.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
Three silver-gleaming darts, arranged in a perfect triangle, shot towards Nine.
Caught off guard by the sudden projectiles, she could only watch in horror as the needles buried themselves in her chest.
Splurt!
A gush of sweet-tasting blood erupted from her lips.
Wiping away the blood at the corner of her mouth, her gaze pierced through the flames, "Who?!"
From within the fiery glow, a silhouette slowly emerged.
The sight of this figure not only stunned Nine but also sent a jolt through Daniel.
No one had anticipated his sudden aggression.
As the pot-bellied Jack ambled toward her, disbelief tainted Nine's voice, "How... How could you have a will of your own? Even if you're controlled by this creature, I've mastered it too!"
Jack's face was dark and stormy, and from his lips came a grating, sinister chuckle, "Hehehe... I've waited for this day for a long time. Did you truly believe your measly enchanting power could bind a god like me?!"
At these words, Nine's expression morphed into shock, "You were never enchanted by me?"
Jack advanced slowly, "Realizing now? Too late."
The fiery glow illuminated a chilling transformation.
His body twisted and contorted, bones deforming, while his back sprouted silver needle-like spines that gleamed menacingly.
His eyes glowed a deep crimson, oozing malevolence.
His limbs thickened and sharpened claws, now half a meter long, emerged.
The most terrifying change was his face: no longer human, with a protruding mouth, bloated cheeks, two sharp teeth exposed, and a twisted grin that oozed malevolence.
He had taken the form of a monstrous boar!
Nine's face was pallid. Her injuries were severe, making even standing a challenge.
She watched in horror as Jack transformed before her very eyes, a trace of fear flashing in her gaze. "Who are you really? What is your purpose in getting close to me?"
Jack, with his boar-like maw, let scalding drool drip onto Nine, "Me? Porcinus Dominus. That's the name you humans gave me. I need you to serve me, to assist in my return as ruler of this desolate land."
Nine stared back, shock evident in her eyes.
Daniel, from a distance, was lost in thought.
Pierce Duminas ,could he be another of the Great Old Ones, like Atelarxus?
A memory struck him: on their first day in Mauritania for the program, Jack had unearthed a statue of the Great Old Ones.
Back then, before Daniel became an Evolver, he hadn't sensed any particular energy.
Now it appeared that, from the moment Jack had found that statue, he might have lost his soul.
He had long since become the servant of this monstrous boar entity.
Daniel's eyes fixed on Pierce Duminas, and a faint stir of his mind brought forth an appraisal.

A chill ran down Daniel's spine as he slowly rose to his feet.
Well aware of his own limits, he knew he couldn't confront such a monstrous presence head-on.
With Pierce Duminas's attention focused on Nine, now might be the perfect time to make his escape.
Just as Daniel was about to step onto the staircase, a chilling sensation swept over him from behind. Instinctively, he dodged to the side.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Three bone spikes shot past him, piercing through the staircase as if it were made of soft tofu.
Pierce's cold voice echoed in his ears, "Don't be in such a hurry to leave. I'll be coming for you shortly."
Chills ran down Daniel's spine, a desperate urge to flee consuming him.
Yet, Pierce's voice, as if ensnared by magic, held his feet rooted to the ground, rendering him paralyzed.
It was an overwhelming pressure from a force beyond comprehension.
Even though Pierce was now merely a lingering spirit, the immense power he once possessed still radiated an undeniable authority from his soul.
Smoke billowed and flames roared within the mall.
If things continued this way, he'd either perish in the blazing inferno or fall victim to Pierce's malevolent grasp.
Gritting his teeth, a plan began to form in Daniel's mind.
