Limitless Evolution: I’m The Next Dragon God?

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Crisis

[ Bloodlines: Water Toad (F), Sky Dragonfly (F), Nightmare Moth (F), Bluefang Hyena (F) ]

From the list, first he chose to take out one bloodline orb from of them. And like previous times, the bloodlines didn't disappeared.

He held the bloodlines and preceded to Fuse the bloodlines in 2 steps.

• Water Toad (F) + Sky Dragonfly (F)

• Nightmare Moth (F) + Bluefang Hyena (F)

As soon as he gave the command, bright lights and pulses of raw blood energy filled the Fusion Lab as the essences began to spin and intertwine. Each fusion felt volatile and wild, as if the resulting creatures would be nothing short of aberrant hybrids. But that was exactly what Yuki wanted.

He wanted the strength of multiple creatures packed into one bloodline.

[ Fusions Are Successful ]

1. Water Toad (F) + Sky Dragonfly (F)

→ Aqua Skyrider (E)

Description: A hybrid bloodline that blends the amphibious adaptability of the Water Toad with the agile aerial traits of the Sky Dragonfly. Grants enhanced leaping power, moderate flight capability, and adaptability in wet or humid environments. Also improves midair maneuverability and stamina during aerial bursts.

2. Nightmare Moth (F) + Bluefang Hyena (F)

→ Dusk Howler (E)

Description: A fusion of stealth and brutality. This bloodline enhances nocturnal perception, sharpens instincts during the night, and improves physical durability. The user gains increased resistance to fear-type effects and heightened aggression under stress. Perfect for night-based ambush predators.

Now for the second step. He commanded to fuse these two bloodlines. Just like he did with the skills.

[ Fusion: Aqua Skyrider (E) + Dusk Howler (E) ]

→ Name: Twilight Stormborn (E)

Hybrid Type: Aerial Nocturnal Predator

Bloodline Traits:

Enhanced Agility and Stealth: Combines sky-born maneuverability with night-adapted stalking. Excellent for fast, undetectable movement.

Amphibious Combat Adaptation: Can move seamlessly in both aquatic and aerial environments, with improved breath control and muscle coordination.

Echo Pulse Senses: An evolved sensory trait that allows detection of movement through air or water vibrations within a limited range, even in total darkness.

"This is it. Time to do this."

After seeing through those traits, Yuki chose to fuse with the new bloodline without any delay.

If the fusion succeeded, it could further strengthen his already growing physique.

[ Initiating Self Fusion with Bloodline: Twilight Stormborn (E) ]

[ Estimated Time: 220 Seconds ]

The fusion process began, accompanied by waves of sharp pain and soul-wrenching torment. But Yuki endured it all. Drawing on the resilience of his superior dragon bloodline and his strong will, he successfully suppressed the unwanted mutations that tried to take root — like protruding fangs, claws, or beast-like features trying to alter his dragon face.

[ Congratulations, Host! Your Self Fusion was Successful ]

[ Your Bloodline Has Been Upgraded to: Variant Frost Dragon (D) ]

[ Strength +2, Agility +3, Defense +3 ]

[ Level-Up Attributes per Level: 10 ]

Yuki glanced over the notifications, satisfied. His dragon body already felt the changes of power, grace, and adaptability surging within his limbs.

The traits of the Twilight Stormborn now coursed through his veins.

He was no longer just a weak Frost Dragon, bound to cold elements and brute resilience. Now, he also possessed fluid maneuverability in the air and tactical movement underwater, enhancing both his survival and offensive capabilities.

With that, today's Fusion limit was over.

Plop!

Yuki exited the Fusion Lab smoothly, his small dragon body landing on the wooden floor with a light thud. As his senses adjusted, he glanced around and noticed the sunlight had shifted to the west. It was already well into the afternoon.

Runa was still asleep on the mattress, her chest rising and falling gently in rhythm. Everything appeared peaceful.

But it was too peaceful.

The usual rustling of leaves, distant cries of beasts, and the whispering wind, all of it was gone.

An unnatural silence hung in the air like a heavy fog.

Yuki's eyes narrowed.

A sudden chill crept down his spine, sharp and instinctual. His instincts as a dragon stirred restlessly. Something was wrong. Very wrong.

Shortly after that, Yuki raised a claw and gently nudged the girl. To woke her up.

Runa's eyelids fluttered open abruptly, only to be met with the little dragon's panicked face looming over her.

Alarmed, she sat upright in an instant and summoned a Metal Spear with a metallic shimmer. Her eyes darted to the surroundings, and that was when she noticed it.

The forest was silent. Utterly still. Not even the wind rustled the leaves.

Her brows furrowed. Without saying a word, she sprang to her feet and rushed outside. Yuki followed her, sensing the sudden shift in her mood and the heavy stillness in the air.

Then she saw it. So did he.

The sky was bright and clear in all directions except one. Above their heads, a portion of the sky had turned unnaturally dark, swirling with distorted shadow.

"The Gate Has Opened!"

Runa's lips parted as her expression turned pale.

Yuki followed her gaze upward.

His breath caught in his throat.

A black vortex had opened high above them, like a tear in the fabric of the world. From its swirling depths emerged a colossal being cloaked in shadows and thick malevolence. Its body shifted and twisted, sometimes taking form, sometimes fading into smoky haze, as though it could not fully exist in this world.

And then the eyes appeared.

Two massive crimson eyes lit up within the vortex, staring down at the forest with a malicious purpose.

Yuki's entire body trembled.

What was this thing? A demon? A forgotten god? A fragment of something ancient?

He could not tell. But one truth rose inside him like a tidal wave.

They had to escape. Immediately.

"YUKI! RUN!"

Runa's scream cut through the heavy air as she bolted forward.

Before that, she scooped him up onto her shoulder. Despite him weighing over thirty kilograms, she carried him without a hint of hesitation.

She could have run alone. She could have escaped more easily if she abandoned him. And yet, she didn't.

"Ouch! Careful, little girl. My brain's going to spill out if you keep carrying me like this," Yuki grumbled while he was slung over her shoulder like a sack of grain.

But even in the chaos, he couldn't ignore the genuine care in her actions. She was scared, yet she didn't let go of him.
