The sun rose over Orario, casting a golden light across the city's stone streets. But instead of the usual bustling energy of early-morning adventurers, a strange tension filled the air.

Outside Babel Tower—the gateway to the Dungeon—a thick crowd had gathered.

Hundreds of adventurers stood in clusters, whispers spreading like wildfire.

"…Did you hear? They closed the lower floors…"

"The Guild issued a restriction—only level fours and up are allowed to enter until further notice."

"They say something changed inside the Dungeon."

The announcement had come with no warning. An urgent decree issued by the Guild overnight, backed by all the major Familias. Level 3 and below were barred from entering the Dungeon.

Civilians, shopkeepers, and Guild employees watched from the sidelines, concerned voices rising among them.

"Has something happened again?"

"Like the Monsterphilia riot?"

"No, worse… this feels like the Calamity from twenty years ago…"

Inside the Loki Familia's Twilight Manor…

The air was heavy as several of Orario's strongest adventurers sat around the long war table. Maps of the Dungeon were spread across the surface, red ink marking trouble zones.

Loki stood with her arms crossed, unusually quiet. Riveria sat beside her, calm but unreadable. Finn Deimne looked over a scroll—Ethan's Guild report from the day before.

"Tremors on the fifteenth floor… Melted terrain… Unidentified presence watching them," he summarized.

Riveria's brows creased. "If this was a one-time occurrence, perhaps it could be dismissed as a freak mutation. But there are other reports—unconfirmed, but alarming."

She tapped the table lightly.

"Several lower-leveled parties were ambushed… by monsters far stronger than usual. Lizardmen with reinforced scales on the eighth floor. A mutated Infant Dragon on the tenth."

Loki looked up, her grin gone. "And they were supposed to be wiped out completely on those floors."

"Exactly," Riveria said grimly. "It's like the Dungeon is rearranging itself."

Finn leaned back, folding his arms. "…And this Ethan boy is the first to bring back solid evidence."

Loki scoffed lightly. "Tch. I told you there was somethin' odd about that kid."

Riveria nodded. "It may not be coincidence. He might be the trigger—or the first warning."

Loki frowned. Her voice, usually carefree, held something close to dread.

"…Do you think this is like last time?"

Silence fell across the room.

Riveria didn't answer. Finn stared down at the table.

Then, slowly, the Pallum captain replied.

"We don't know yet. But we can't afford to take chances."

Back at the Dungeon Gates…

Lines had formed. Powerful adventurers from top-tier Familias were already descending. Some wore solemn faces. Others looked eager to prove themselves.

The atmosphere was electric—like a storm about to break.

Many young adventurers stood at the sidelines, frustrated and powerless.

Lili watched them from a rooftop nearby. She and Ethan had gone to see the chaos for themselves.

"They're all scared," she murmured.

Ethan stood beside her, arms crossed. "The Dungeon's changing. And we were the first to see it."

She glanced up at him. "What do you think it is?"

He didn't answer at first.

"…It wasn't a monster," he finally said. "That thing that stared at us… it was intelligent. Curious."

Lili shivered at the memory.

Below, a squad of Hephaestus Familia blacksmith-adventurers entered the gate. Right behind them, several members of Ganesha Familia filed in, armed and armored to the teeth.

"I'm not sure we're ready," Lili said quietly.

Ethan closed his eyes. "We'll have to be."

That Night…

Far beneath the surface, in a place no map had ever reached, something pulsed.

The walls of the Dungeon shifted, rippling as if alive. Dark shapes slithered through tunnels never touched by mortals.

A single presence opened its eyes. It had slumbered long beneath the weight of stone and mana.

Now, it stirred.

It had seen the boy.

And for the first time in centuries—

—it was curious.
