Chapter 6: Chapter 6: That's the boss
[A few days later]
Solan sat in the training ground behind the manor. Holding a blade in his hand In the past days Solan had settled down getting used to his new home.
Sarah faces him with a wooden katana.
"Huh, You truly know how to handle a blade well" she smirked.
"...T-This is exhuasting…": Solan said panting a bit but kept his legs up.
"…don't forget as marines we don't only hunt leviathans, we also hunt criminals.. which is why you need to learn close combat too".
Solan charged at her with the wooden sword before tripping.
"I don't like the blade…". Solan muttered to himself quietly.
Suddenly one of the butlers appeared "...Master Sarah, you have visitors…".
"Ah? Is it the Kritanta family?"
"Yes, it's their father and daughter…".
Sarah put her wooden sword away before telling Solan
"...Just continue training Solan, There's some people I need to talk with".
"Go ahead…:". Solan said panting, continuing his own training.

When Sarah arrived in her office-like room a tall man in his mid 30's sat on the couch. His hair is silver white, a big beard and his eyes silver coloured. Beside him sat a younger girl, seemingly 12 or 13. Long dark blue hair and dark blue eyes.
Sarah bowed down in respect "...Admiral Joseph Kritanta… It's a pleasure having you here".
He spoke up, his voice was rough yet calm. "...Its been a while Admiral Sarah… It seems your still as youthful as ever".
The little girl waved to Sarah, smiling brightly. ":..Hello auntie Sarah".
"Hello to you too Samira". She sat across from them.
-Joseph Kritanta, a man who once stood as a pillar within the marines until he gave birth to his first daughter Samira. Belonging to an influential household on the mainland of Daimon. His ancestors were amongst the first people to ever kill an elder beast during the Era of Anax. The power to manipulate a ice, its power had been passed down for centuries down the family.
"I wanted to first congratulate you on your successful mission of hunting down an elder beast. The Master was very happy I heard…".
"Yes of course Sir.Kritanta…. It was nothing but orders that we must follow…".
"I heard you also saved a passenger ship on the way too, some distant relatives were actually on that ship… So I want to thank you for saving them".
"It was nothing really sir…". She nodded.
They talked for a bit more until Sarah asked them.
"..Anyways... How is little Esori and your wife doing?" Sarah asked curious.
--Sarah had known the Kritanta since young. She had trained under Joseph Kritanta during the days he was active within the marines.
"Unfortunately they had to stay back at Daimon".
"..Ah Really? I was excited to meet the duchess again…". Sarah said with sigh hoping to see them during their stay.
"Anyways, how come you're in Soldat now?".
"Samira here is going to attend the marine recruitment under my unit.. After all she's the one who will inherit my Ice vessel when she's of age…".
Joseph said proudly. Pride is always something a father will have over their beloved children, especially Joseph who always spoke about them to anyone he had conversation with.
Samira a young prodigy. Since little she had been training under her father Joseph. Her dream to follow the same steps as her admiral father and explore the unconquered reaches of Endeia.
"Anyways, I heard you also recently picked up discipline too… I was surprised when I heard the news… Well, is he also going to participate in the recruitment too?" Joseph spoke with interest.
Sarah chuckled "Haha.. Well, I have a plan for him… He's not going to undergo marine training… I'll train him up to the very last bit myself…".

Back in the training ground Solan stood practicing on a dummy. He did it on repeat and repeat, sweating and determined. Suddenly a voice spoke up from the manor.
"...Hm? Are you Auntie Sarah's disciple?"
Solan turned behind only to suddenly see a girl a bit older than him standing just mere inches from his face, her cold breath in his face.
"Hmm~? Your cute"
Solan snapped out of it and backed out immediately. His instincts scream danger.
"Oh? you're not just any ordinary kid…".
She approached him again this time smiling "My name is Samira Kritanta… I'm a guest here…": she reached out his hand wanting to greet him.
Solan looked at her, it was obvious she had some kinda intentions but he didn't say anything and greeted her. "My name is Solan…".
"Solan? That's a unique name… Tell me, what are you doing?" looking at the wooden sword he held.
"...Practicing…". he answered simply.
"Mhm?" She took a few steps back, looking up and down at Solan before she said "Try using a spear… Your body type is better for spears then a sword… spear is easier after all".
Solan didn't know who this random girl was but decided to listen in.
Taking a spear he tried practicing as she showed him a few steps and word of advice
"Use your body". to use the spear.
Eventually after a few minutes Sarah arrived and said "..Samira, your father is waiting for you in the carriage…".
"Oh? Seems like I must go now~" she smiled teasingly before leaving.
"See you soon Solan~" as she took her leave.
Solan froze in shiver, a bit hearing her saying his name like that.
"So you've gotten to know Samira?"
"...Who was that?"
"...Shes a prodigy child of the Kritanta household… She's the heir of an Ice vessel".
"Heir to the ice vessel?"
"Yes, when she's of age… her father will pass down the Ice vessel to her…".
Sarah, turned to Solan's spear in hand with a curious tone
"...Did she tell you to use a spear?"
"...Yes…". Solan answered simply.
She looked at him silently, taking a better look at Solan's body features.
"...She's right, It'll fit you better….".
"Let's continue our training where we left it," Sarah remarked with a ready tone.

[1 month later]
[Within the Marine's palace: North for Soldat close to the mountain reaches]
"Master… What are your thoughts on the matter…".
A servant stood before a huge well decorated couch. Sitting on the couch was a woman with long blonde hair and golden eyes… She was wearing what seemed to be an attire of the Soldat's clothes. Drinking wine looking over the paper reports Infront her.
"Well… It's obvious that we'll have to send out one of the admirals of course…".
[Master Lumine Von Serval: Royal master of the Soldat]
Lumine looked at a document closely, her voice soothing and gentle.
"...Bring in Admiral Sarah and her disciple… I want to inform them personally…".
"Yes master, I'll call them immediately…".
Lumine watched as the servants left before resting her head on a red silk pillow on her couch.
"Sighs~ I really hate work....".
