Chapter 226: Ilya of Murom
–Even the suit tried to warn him of that bright, blinding power being gathered, though he felt no threat from it, only hope.
"Nnnrgh!--" Charlotte strained herself, swinging her shining blade as it cast forth a chromatic radiance.
The wind shuddered, vibrating like the call of a whale emitting through the sea; the air shifted as all that consumed the vision of the young man was the flashing lights.

To be safe, Finn sprinted in the opposite direction, not risking being caught by whatever combination of abilities it was being set forth.
'Right…I haven't seen what sort of skills she's acquired since the First Order. So, this is what you've got going on now, Charlotte? Scary,' he observed, squinting his eyes as the entire crater shook beneath the lapis force.
It was difficult to decipher with his own eyes what the result of Charlotte's attack was—a slash? An explosion? An atomic release? All he could tell was that it was destructive, swiftly and lethally so.
Blooming into the desolate region of the city, an azure flower of colossal proportion blossomed upon the Moon. Beautiful as it was, the astral flower manifested the destructive force of the spellblade.
[Destructive range expanding | Evacuation advised.]
"Yeah, I get it!" Finn responded to the suit, having to hold onto a concrete wall as the astral winds roared by.
No different from standing within the eye of a storm, he was battered by the harsh gale. The sediment hovered, being tossed around as the ground cracked and split. It elevated rapidly before the cerulean shine filled his vision and–it was gone.
As quickly as it came, the majestic destruction fizzled out, leaving the crater in even worse shape, though a soft rain of astral pollen trickled down.
"Did that do it?" Finn mumbled to himself, looking towards the center of it all.
"Ghh!--"
"Woah!"
The shriek of pain caused him to jolt, holding his arms out as he found his armorclad companion soaring right towards him, unwillingly. He caught Charlotte in his arms, sliding back from the momentum behind her.
"--Gotcha! What was that about?" Finn asked, helping her stand herself.
Charlotte coughed as the suit's helmet retracted, "...Lapis Nexus. It turns my entire body into a blade for that one swing–the potency is incredible, but…I definitely felt the feedback."
"I see…Well, it looked like it was worth it," Finn said, pointing towards the center where the Moon had resided.
There was nothing left but a gaping chasm now in the crater. At the exact moment he pointed, he realized the error in his judgment, which seemed shared by the spellblade in her silence.
'--Hold on, there's no notification of its defeat?' He questioned.
[//Anomalous shift detected–//]
The voice integrated into the suit buzzed and broke up as a peculiar sensation overtook his body; total, helpless weightlessness. As hard as he tried, he couldn't keep his feet on the ground, floating up against his will.
"Finn–? What is this–?!" Charlotte yelled, helpless to the same phenomena.
"I don't know–! It's got something to do with the Moon, that's for sure!" Finn shouted in return, looking down to find they were already a dozen meters off the ground.
The enigmatic force quickly brought him up, quickly exiting the bounds of the city. Hundreds of meters were ascended in a single moment, yet the momentum didn't have any wear on his body.
'It's bringing us out of…Earth?' He questioned, looking up.
Passing the ozone layer, leaving behind the clouds in the sky, he found himself being brought into the dark reaches of space. There was nothing to breathe in, instead feeling a frosty embrace encase him as he stared at the bare cosmos.
Panic settled in momentarily as his lungs fought for air–

"--Haaah!"
He drew in a breath, calming himself as he glanced over, finding Charlotte floating right beside him. What they were drawn to sat in front of them, completely encapsulating the cosmic scenery–the Moon.
The dull, grayish-brown sphere stared back at him. It was a surreal sight, staring directly up close at the object that was merely a fixture in the sky his entire life. Before any words could be transmitted between Charlotte and himself, the unnatural phenomena once more pulled them–
"Ghh!--"
Within moments, he found himself pulled into the holds of the rocky sphere, landing on his feet as the entire gravitational force seemed to shift. Catching himself standing upright, he glanced back, finding a direct view of Earth from an outside view now.
It was nothing like the pictures taken from satellites before, a far cry from its former beauty; entire nations looked wiped off the map, burned and desolate. The large expanses of the blue sea were infiltrated by masses of darkness, leviathans that lurked, visible even from the Moon.
"...That's what the world looks like now?" Finn questioned, transmitting his words right to his companion.
Charlotte caught herself beside him, taking a few, floaty steps, "It's…dying. I guess I'm not surprised, but it looks terrible."
They simply stared at what was left of their world for a moment, taking in that depressing sight in the silent reaches of space.
–Tremble.
As the ground of the Moon shook, he turned himself, readying himself as he witnessed the area ahead crack and split, shattering as a pale hand reached out. What crawled out from the depths of the space-drifting sphere resembled a slender, human man of unnaturally white skin.

He bore a nude form, hiding nothing as softly glowing, transparent hair drifted upon his shoulders.
"What is that…?" Charlotte questioned.
"I don't know, but it's not a friend," Finn answered with a whisper.

While urgency was foremost, Jasper found himself in no rush to face the impervious entity again. Just as he straightened himself out–
"Hruuuuah!--"
A high-speed object came crashing to his right, slamming through the thick, once unbreakable-seeming wall. It would be death for just about anybody to have that much momentum behind them, though the knight could hear the figure groaning.
Carefully, he walked over, investigating the wall, only to find it had been completely broken through, leading outside of the city.
"Urhhhh…"
He heard the loud groaning again, leading him to step out of the man-shaped hole before finding the one that had crashed so dramatically. It wasn't a normal person by any means–a giant of a man, dressed in full chainmail armor.

"Hey, you alright?" Jasper asked the tall, burly figure.
Just as his question was asked, the massive man suddenly jumped up to his feet as if he wasn't just on the ground groaning.
"I am perfectly fine! The fight has just begun!" The massive man boomed, slapping his own chest.
The sudden burst of energy caught Jasper off-guard, stepping back as he looked at the man shrouded in steel, "Err…Right. Well, let's try and figure this one out together, alright? Doesn't look like either of us have had any luck against that monster by ourselves."
"I have yet to be defeated. This battle has only started!" Ilya shouted, slapping his chest again.
"Is that so, mate? Well, whatever the case…let's just work together on this one," Jasper said, standing himself beside the man twice his height.
