Level 1 to Infinity: My Bloodline Is the Ultimate Cheat!

Chapter 411: The Sigil Returns

Ethan lay in bed, his Soul Sense silently trailing Rose and Mia as they returned to their room. Both girls collapsed onto their beds, not even bothering to remove their clothes—ready to spring back into action at a moment's notice if needed. Through the link, Ethan gently nudged their minds, guiding them into a deep and peaceful sleep.

Back in his own room, Fern and Crystal quietly tended to him with practiced care. They wiped his hands, feet, and face with warm towels, then gently turned him over and massaged his shoulders and legs. Not a single word was spoken between them.

After everything was done, Crystal pulled out a thin straw and carefully slipped one end into the corner of his mouth. She then took a sip of some warm liquid, holding it in her mouth before feeding it to Ethan through the straw.

The substance flowed slowly, fragrant and soothing, slightly warm after passing through her mouth and the length of the straw. How hot had it been when she first took it in?

Ethan was stunned.

Had they been feeding him like this for the entire three years he'd been unconscious? No wonder he hadn't starved. The care, the patience... it struck him in a way he wasn't prepared for. No one had ever looked after him like this before.

His chest tightened, and moisture welled in his eyes. Just as Crystal finished giving him a mouthful, his Soul Sense stirred again. The two girls stiffened momentarily, then their bodies relaxed as they drifted into sleep.

Ethan sat up slowly, catching both of them before they could slump over. He hooked the small bowl Fern had been holding with his foot and caught it perfectly between his toes. After laying the girls down gently and covering them with a blanket, he brought the bowl to his lips and took a tentative sip.

Warm. Like freshly cooked food. His heart trembled.

He placed the bowl on the table, then carefully lifted each girl and carried them to their beds, tucking them in properly. For a moment, he just stood there, silently watching them. Then—

Grrrr...

His stomach growled again. With a small grin, he picked up the bowl and downed its contents in one go. He had no idea what it was, but as it entered his body, warmth spread through every limb like a gentle wave of heat. He exhaled sharply.

Afterward, he stepped outside, barefoot, letting his senses expand.

He quickly realized he was still inside the City Lord's manor. As his Soul Sense swept across the grounds, it found a familiar presence—Julian. The young man was still awake, hunched over a sand table with a contemplative look on his face. A woman he didn't recognize was slumped asleep nearby.

Suddenly, Julian turned, his eyes narrowing as he looked toward Ethan's direction. "Who's there?"

Ethan smirked. Sharp. He didn't bother hiding himself.

"Your Uncle Ethan…" he transmitted casually.

Julian froze. For a heartbeat, he stood there, motionless—then bolted forward.

In a few swift movements, he stood before Ethan. "You're awake…"

Ethan glanced him up and down, his gaze pausing on the Sigil of the Wild Legion hanging from Julian's waist.

"This fake," he said with a wry smile, "not bad craftsmanship."

With a flick of thought, Ethan summoned the real Sigil from his Mindscape. It hovered in his palm, glowing faintly.

"So it's still on you," Julian murmured, visibly relieved. "Good. We thought it was gone."

Back when Ethan had collapsed, the Sigil had been clutched so tightly in his hand that no one could pry it loose. The only way to remove it would have been to break his fingers. But three months later, it had simply vanished.

In truth, Ethan had no idea why it reappeared in his Mindscape. One day, bored out of his mind, he'd watched as a crescent-shaped island gradually formed in the southern part of that space. Then, without warning, the Sigil had appeared above it, glowing with a soft yellow light that bathed the entire island.

It obeyed his will and could be summoned at any time, but it always returned to that exact spot afterward—like it had chosen its own resting place.

But from the outside, it had caused chaos.

With the Sigil missing and Ethan still in a coma, no one believed he could've put it away himself. The entire city went into a quiet panic. For six months, no one found a single clue.

Eventually, Uncle Jed guessed that it had never really left Ethan—that it must still be with him somehow. They could only wait for him to wake up and explain.

In the meantime, Julian had taken control of Beastfall City with an iron grip. Everyone connected to Priest Gorr was executed without mercy.

When Gorr died, Priestess Dana refused to trap her parents' souls in the Soul-Devouring Beast—but she also didn't let them stay in the city. She expelled them, along with every member of the Gorr family.

The once-mighty Gorr Manor in the city's north was reduced to a shell housing only Dana and Bongo. Then, overnight, it disappeared.

On Dana's orders, the entire manor was dug up—foundation and all. What they found beneath shocked everyone. Hidden caches of treasure, crates of rare materials, dozens of spatial pouches. When it was all counted, it exceeded even the City Lord's treasury—by more than double.

Even Julian had been speechless.

Just how much had that old bastard stolen over the years? Beastfall City had always looked like it was doing alright, but every year children starved, and elders died from lack of water. If even half that treasure had been used properly, countless lives could've been saved.

Julian had taken the Soul-Devouring Beast that held Gorr's soul from Dana and tormented the man endlessly.

But guilt began to take root.

For over a decade, Julian had withdrawn from city affairs, obsessed with vengeance, focused only on his training. If he hadn't ignored his responsibilities, how could Gorr have gotten away with so much? How many families had been destroyed during those years?

Though Gorr was the one who caused the suffering, Julian couldn't pretend he bore no blame.

Over the next three years, he led a sweeping reform. Beastfall City not only recovered but thrived beyond anything it had been before.

And as for the "lost" shipment from Clearspring City… that, too, had a story.

Three years ago, Julian had already planned to cut ties with that convoy. Before the heavy rain, he had quietly sent the Central Dominion Guard out of the city—every single one of them. None knew the real reason.

Julian himself had caught a Fire-Eyed Toad and planted it in the Sword Tomb Volcano, ensuring it would be discovered by Gorr Jr.—thus triggering the chain of events that followed.

In fact, he had even left behind a message: find a chance to eliminate Gorr Jr.

But Ethan had been an unexpected variable. The way things unfolded... no one could've predicted.

The strange deaths of Silas, the envoy from Clearspring City, and his top guards were attributed to poison and their own debauchery. Silas had died from an anal rupture in the most humiliating fashion imaginable.

Julian had questioned Uncle Jed multiple times, asking if Ethan was involved. Jed had always denied knowing anything.

Until one drunken night—Julian, Quinn, and Hank got Jed completely wasted. That's when the old man finally spilled it.

Ethan had "picked up" the missing supplies.

Jed didn't know what kind of poison had been used, or even if Ethan had really done it. But the truth clicked for Julian.

He'd suspected it all along. But when the full picture came together, he could only sigh in admiration.

Cunning little bastard.

He knew what kind of poison it was. He had been inside that RV, after all. Traces of Serpent's Embrace and Phoenix's Desire still lingered, barely detectable.

But for someone who controlled spatial seals, even faint remnants were enough.

He had no idea where Ethan had found such a large dose—enough to completely cripple an early stage Limbo-Rank fighter and three Peak Transcendents. A tiny amount wouldn't have done it. And to push them all into a frenzied, lust-crazed state?

It was overkill.

All because Silas disrespected Nora Vance. That's it.

This Chosen One… was as ruthless as he was brilliant.
