Level 1 to Infinity: My Bloodline Is the Ultimate Cheat!

Chapter 312: Reunion

The delicate figure in Ethan's arms, once cold, now burned with warmth. His fingers brushed against the damp fabric, eliciting a soft gasp from Lyla, who nearly slipped from his grasp.

The next second, Ethan's Soul Sense stirred, and a dark cloak materialized in his hand. He draped it over her delicate skin, covering what had been exposed to the cool air.

As Lyla looked up in surprise, Ethan turned. Just in time, he saw Amber Zane and Kiara. They had rounded the entrance, peeking around the corner.

Seeing them, Lyla quickly released her arms from around Ethan's neck. She pulled the dark cloak tighter, her bare body now completely enveloped.

Her small face was flushed, her eyes still hazy with emotion. "Ethan… have you ever been to Frostveil Cavern?"

She realized it was the very cloak she'd dropped inside the cavern when her Ninth Granduncle had taken her away.

"Hmm… you've suffered," Ethan said, his voice soft with tenderness, as he gently caressed her cheek.

"Amber, do you have any clothes?"

By then, Amber Zane and Kiara were very close.

"Yes…"

Lyla reached out, indicating she wanted them.

"In the room…"

Ethan heard this and thought, 'Then why the hell did you even say yes?'

He'd never quite liked this woman who dressed as a man and had once harbored ill intent towards Evelyn. But Kiara had told him that Amber Zane was Lyla's best friend. So, Ethan naturally had to show her some respect.

"You two chat. I know who has clothes!"

Ethan glanced at the cluster of flowers where Lyla's clothes lay, soaking wet. There were even bloodstains. If he hadn't just checked her entire body and found no wounds, he would have thrown a fit.

With that, he stepped out, finding Evelyn still examining Bobby. He walked over and asked, "How's he doing?"

Evelyn's face flushed, thinking Ethan was asking about 'that'.

"He's… he's… done for!"

She finished speaking, then continued to channel her energy, healing Bobby's internal organs and the ribs that had pierced his lungs.

"Done for? Then why waste the effort? Just put him out of his misery!" Ethan muttered, then turned and walked over to Maria.

"Maria, I need to ask you something. Can I borrow a set of your clothes? A full set!"

Maria froze, then her face turned red. She looked at Ethan with a strange expression. Even Melinda, standing nearby, looked at Ethan as if he were a pervert.

"I'm just borrowing a set of clothes. Do you have to be so dramatic?" Ethan asked, bewildered.

"You're asking a woman for clothes, and a full set… you're not…", Melinda began, then looked up past Ethan. Just then, Lyla, shrouded in the dark cloak, emerged from the doorway behind him.

Melinda instantly understood Ethan's meaning. She scrutinized Lyla for a moment, a hint of surprise in her eyes. It was her first time seeing Lyla, and the only thought that came to her mind at first glance was how beautiful she was

"Maria, send a set of clothes over there!" she said, nodding towards Lyla.

Maria turned, a dawning realization on her face, and rolled her eyes at Ethan's request. "Oh… I'll go! It seems… yours won't fit her!"

Maria was about to walk over when her aunt pulled her back. She looked down at herself, her brow furrowing.

'Mine aren't small either, are they?'

Melinda saw her expression. "Pfft… silly girl, I wasn't talking about that!"

Ethan also looked Maria up and down. He nodded, thinking, 'Yeah, it probably won't work. This girl is… five-foot-five? Lyla is five-foot-nine.'

He turned, about to follow Melinda, and as he looked up, he saw Amber pointing at Evelyn and whispering something in Lyla's ear. Ethan's face darkened.

'Damn it, she's talking trash about me already?'

"Ethan…"

Matriarch Whitmore's slow voice drifted over.

"Huh?" he replied, without turning his head, continuing towards Lyla. Ethan had completely forgotten about the others at this point. He'd even forgotten that they might still be facing some danger. His mind was consumed with Lyla. His purpose for coming here had been achieved. Nothing else mattered.

"You brat…"

Whoosh…

A pebble flew towards the back of his head. Ethan tilted his head, turning to glare at the instigator.

"What are you looking at? I'm Lyla's Ninth Granduncle!" The old man's eyes widened.

"Uh… Ninth Granduncle, what do you need from me?" Ethan hesitantly spun around and walked to his side.

"When Lyla and I were hiding here, we saw Lachlan and Sylvan Wynn being chased by a monster, and they went inside. You might need to go in and check it out!" Donovan Silverwood looked at him with burning eyes.

Ethan paused, asking, confused, "Why me?"

Not to mention Lachlan Silverwood and Sylvan Wynn, but that King-tier thing, whether it was a corpse or something else, could probably crush him easily. Going in there would be suicide!

"Because your innate Soul Sense is strong enough… while ours… was trained!" Gregory Hargrove opened his mouth and directly stated the reason.

"Who said my innate Soul Sense is strong? I also trained mine!" Ethan glared, insisting stubbornly, while giving Donovan a fierce look.

"You brat, why are you giving me that look? Do you think all these people here are fools? Your identity as an inate Soul-Wielder has already been exposed."

"If you keep showing me that awful look, I'll tell Lyla to stay away from you!"

Hearing this, Ethan's heart trembled. He was exposed? But he didn't like the last part of that statement. He had originally wanted to be respectful but this old man kept pushing his buttons.

"You… don't threathen me either. Do you want me to tell her the fact that it was your fault she got kidnapped at that time?" Ethan shot back relentless.

"Uh…" This hit Donovan directly in his weak spot.

"Ethan, you shouldn't be in any danger going in there," Matriarch Whitmore said slowly, seeing the two men staring at each other, and quickly steered the conversation back to the main topic.

Seeing Ethan turn to look at her, the old woman continued.

"We can enter there, but if we do, we'll become like ordinary people. Lachlan Silverwood and Sylvan Wynn are the same!

Only innate Soul-Wielders, upon entering, will not have their strength too severely weakened."

Ethan suddenly interrupted her, asking, "Then why did those two old guys run in there? Isn't that just asking for death?"

Matriarch Whitmore shook her head. "Otherwise… we just discussed and speculated… that they deliberately lured that monster inside. They will be weakened to ordinary people if they go in, and that monster will also be weakened, unless it was a Soul-Wielder when it was alive.

However, looking at its nature and characteristics, the chance of it being a Soul-Wielder is small. So, Lachlan and Sylvan are probably gambling…

Besides…"

Matriarch Whitmore had just gotten to this point. Ethan was still confused, wanting to ask more questions.

Then Ryan's loud shout echoed.
