Level 1 to Infinity: My Bloodline Is the Ultimate Cheat!

Chapter 135: Trap

Everything currently happening in Duskridge had nothing to do with Ethan. Right now, he was carrying Lyla on his back, heading north at first, then veering east.

After reaching the coastline, they found a stretch of beach, plopped down, and basked in the sea breeze, watching the waves roll in.

The system reported Ethan's location every ten minutes. Yet, for over four hours, they stayed put.

At this point, Ethan had been holding onto the Divine Ability Scroll for six hours. Time was running down. In reality, it was already 8 PM. Normally, Ethereal would be offline by now, entering its daily sleep mode. But today, because of Ethan's acquisition of the Divine Ability Scroll, the game remained open.

As Ethan and Lyla played by the shore, he noticed more and more scouts lurking nearby.

Back in Harmony City, several major guilds had suffered massive losses because of that Demigod-tier Boss. Only Whispering Bamboo had managed to walk away with a fortune.

Of course, Renegade Alliance had also gained control over four towns. But all their attention remained on Ethan. Seeing that his coordinates hadn't changed in three or four hours, they got suspicious.

Naturally, they assumed Ethan had brought a massive force of thousands and was camping there. Badly wounded from their recent defeats, none of the guilds wanted to make the first move.

"Let's go. Too many flies buzzing around."

With Lyla still on his back, Ethan started moving south along the shoreline.

The scouts watching him immediately sent reports back to their guilds.

That's when they realized—Ethan wasn't leading an army. He was just hanging out with a girl, sightseeing.

Then, he shifted into Stag Form. At that point, no one could possibly keep up with him. He kept heading south, stopping again to take in the scenery.

Again.

And again.

The guild leaders, at first, thought Ethan was taunting them. But when he hit the ten-hour mark with the Divine Ability Scroll, they couldn't sit still anymore.

Elite squads were sent out, converging on the coordinates reported by the system. Ethan and Lyla, like startled deer, bolted the moment anyone got close.

Time was running out. Frustrated, the guild leaders took charge themselves, leading the chase. From their perspective, Ethan was running in a panic, taking random paths to escape.

Until, to their surprise, he sprinted straight into Redridge Mountain. Everyone knew Redridge was a maze—mountains overlapping to form countless valleys and dead ends.

"Boss, they ran into that gorge ahead! Our guys say it's long, but there's no way out."

The guild leaders from Wasteland Dominion, Eternal Glory, and Unrivaled Honor all received the same report.

"Where the hell is Blade Syndicate?" one of them asked.

The three guilds had formed an alliance after their devastating loss earlier. Along with Marcus Skeiner, they were now four guilds strong.

"That dumbass Marcus? He's probably lost," scoffed Wasteland Dominion's leader, Nocturne.

"Tch. If we hadn't taken such a beating, I wouldn't even bother working with him. His guild is full of idiots," sneered Eternal Glory's leader, Tyrant Solitude.

Unrivaled Honor's leader, Frostbite, sighed. "Back in Duskridge, we had everything settled with those women from Whispering Bamboo—they'd take 30% of the loot, we'd split the rest. But then Renegade Alliance came out of nowhere, surrounded us from four directions, and crushed us.

And to top it off, they didn't even pretend to play fair. Just straight-up wiped us out. Those Bitches from Whispering Bamboo really left us out to dry."

"They probably sided with Renegade Alliance," Nocturne muttered. "Think about it, did any of you see them when we were fighting the Boss? When we were killing each other over loot, did they show up?

No. They waited until we were all battered and exhausted before jumping in.

And Renegade Alliance? They showed up right after that—after they'd already secured control of four towns.

This was a disaster. Renegade Alliance walked away with everything.

I heard they only took half of our dropped loot and handed the other half to Whispering Bamboo."

Tyrant Solitude's expression darkened. "Just thinking about it pisses me off. If Blade Syndicate hadn't started that fight, we wouldn't have gone at each other's throats. And now we have to ally with Marcus Skeiner? That's even worse."

"Shut it. They're here."

A squad approached from the distance, led by none other than Marcus Skeiner himself.

He didn't bother with greetings. "Hey! They went inside?"

The three guild leaders acted like they didn't hear him. Who did he think he was, barking orders at them?

"Hey! I'm talking to you," Marcus repeated.

Tyrant Solitude finally snapped. "Who the hell do you think you're talking to? We're partners, not your lackeys. If you wanna know so badly, go in and see for yourself. I'm done with this."

Without another word, he waved for his men to withdraw from the canyon entrance.

Marcus stood there, stunned.

Then rage took over. No one had ever spoken to him like that. He was about to explode when Nocturne and Frostbite quickly stepped in.

"Come on, Marcus, don't waste your breath," Nocturne said smoothly. "Tyrant Solitude's always been hot-tempered. Look on the bright side—now that he's out, that's one less guild we have to split the loot with."

That seemed to calm him down.

"Hmph. Fine. Let's move. Block them inside the canyon."

The remaining three guilds—12,000 players in total, flooded into the gorge. The passage was narrow, barely wide enough for four people to walk side by side.

Marcus led the charge.

At the End of the Canyon Ethan lounged under the shade of a massive umbrella. Beside him, Lyla relaxed on a beach chair, happily munching on fruit they had bought from the system store.

"Ethan, are you sure about this? We just made enemies out of three guilds."

"And? If you kill, be prepared to be killed. They want my head? They better be ready to lose theirs.

Besides, in Harmony City, only two Level 4 guilds matter—us and Blade Syndicate. This fight was always going to happen."

Ethan stretched lazily, unconcerned as a message came in from Skyblade.

"Boss, Marcus Skeiner is 2,000 meters away."

Ethan's gaze flicked to the horizon, where dust clouds were beginning to rise.

"They all inside yet?" he asked.

"Almost. By the time you meet Marcus, their entire force will be in the canyon."

Ethan stood, folding up the beach chairs and packing away the snacks.

"Lyla, time to go. We've toyed with them long enough. Time to spring the trap."

Then, sending another message to Skyblade, he said:

"Tell Tyrant Solitude and Whispering Bamboo to get ready."
