Let's Train Heroine

Chapter 266: Heroine's Ally Fighting

The Holy Phoenix stood silently amidst the sea of dead humans, their bodies crumpled to the ground in heaps. Her face was calm, her golden eyes shining with a dim light as she moved, almost like a shadow, between the crowds of terrified people. With every flick of her wrist, a life was snuffed out, the victims falling without so much as a gasp.

It was swift, merciless, and utterly painless—exactly as the Holy Phoenix intended. She wasn't doing this out of cruelty; no, every death was a means to an end. She was determined to learn the name of the killer who took the life of the Heavenly Phoenix, and she would do whatever it took to reach that truth.

She thought back to how things had changed. Once, she had been the embodiment of kindness and generosity, revered by her people as a symbol of hope and unity. But now, that image was gone. The day the Heavenly Phoenix fell, something within her broke, and the curse that followed had sent her into a spiral of despair.

It wasn't until Nyx came that she found new purpose—Nyx, who freed her from the curse and whispered the promise of revenge.

"All living beings are equal," the Holy Phoenix whispered under her breath, her eyes flicking over the next group of humans who trembled in terror. "And I shall treat them as such, even if it means their deaths."

But just as her hand moved to kill another group, a bright flash of fire erupted from the sky, aimed directly at her. Instinctively, the Holy Phoenix raised her hand, blocking the attack with a shimmering golden barrier. The force of the strike pushed her back a step, her calm expression flickering into one of surprise. Slowly, she looked up at her attacker.

Hovering above her, with flames licking at her skin and eyes burning with rage, was Liora—the Scarlet Phoenix.

She could feel the intensity of Liora's energy, burning brighter than most phoenixes, a power that was unmistakably born from the use of a forbidden technique. The scarlet flames were a dead giveaway. Liora was burning her own lifespan to gain power.

"You dare betray our race, Holy Phoenix?" Liora's voice was filled with fury, her hands clenched tightly into fists. "You've turned your back on everything we stand for! You side with Nyx, the one responsible for the destruction of the Phoenix race, and now you slaughter innocent humans like they're nothing!"

The Holy Phoenix regarded Liora with a calm gaze, her golden eyes betraying no emotion. "I do what I must. If Nyx can give me the name of the Heavenly Phoenix's killer, then I will do whatever is necessary. You wouldn't understand."

"I wouldn't understand?" Liora's voice was practically a roar. "You helped destroy our people! You helped them kill my family! My friends! And you think that somehow justifies your actions?"

Without waiting for a response, Liora lunged forward, her body engulfed in a blaze of crimson flames as she threw a punch directly at the Holy Phoenix's face. The Holy Phoenix raised her arm in a swift block, their forearms colliding with a shockwave of force.

The first blow set the tone for their hand-to-hand combat. Liora's punches came fast and furious, each one carrying the weight of her burning hatred. The Holy Phoenix deflected and dodged with practiced grace, her movements precise and controlled. She spun away from Liora's furious strikes, using her superior agility to avoid the flurry of fists.

"You're reckless," the Holy Phoenix said calmly, dodging a blow aimed at her head. "You're burning away your life for nothing."

"I'll burn it all if it means I can stop you!" Liora shouted, her fist finally connecting with the Holy Phoenix's side, sending her skidding backward across the ground. The force of the blow was immense, but the Holy Phoenix quickly regained her footing, eyes narrowing.

As Liora charged forward again, the Holy Phoenix met her halfway, their fists clashing in a blur of movement. The sounds of their battle echoed through the area, their blows fast and fierce. Every punch, every kick, was filled with deadly intent.

Liora brought her knee up, aiming for the Holy Phoenix's ribs, but the Holy Phoenix caught her leg in mid-air, twisting sharply and throwing her to the ground. Liora rolled with the fall, springing back to her feet, her eyes blazing with fury.

"Why do you continue to fight me,

?" the Holy Phoenix asked, her voice calm even as she blocked another rapid punch aimed at her jaw. "This isn't your battle."

"It is when you side with Nyx!" Liora growled, her fists flying in a series of rapid jabs that forced the Holy Phoenix to take a defensive stance. "You betrayed us all! And for what? Revenge?"

The Holy Phoenix parried a strike, her hand flashing out to grab Liora by the wrist. With a quick twist, she forced Liora to her knees, pinning her arm behind her back. "I will kill the one responsible for the Heavenly Phoenix's death. You can't stop me."

Liora gritted her teeth, straining against the hold. "I don't care... I'm taking my revenge, and I will do anything for it, even it means to consume my lifespan."

With a burst of raw strength, Liora broke free of the hold, spinning around and delivering a powerful punch to the Holy Phoenix's abdomen. The Holy Phoenix staggered, the force of the blow knocking the wind out of her, but she quickly recovered, stepping back and squaring her shoulders.

"You've already lost this fight," the Holy Phoenix said, her voice soft but firm. "You're fighting on borrowed time."

"I don't care," Liora spat, her fists still burning with scarlet flames. "As long as I can stop you, nothing else matters."

The Holy Phoenix's eyes softened for just a moment, a brief flicker of regret passing through them. But she knew there was no turning back now.

The fight contained, iris, watched Liora with a mixture of cold calculation and fleeting sorrow. The Scarlet Phoenix's attacks were fierce, born of desperation and fueled by the fire of her own diminishing lifespan. Each strike, each movement, carried the weight of years shaved off her existence.

Iris could sense it—the power of the forbidden technique Liora was using, the flames of her very soul igniting in every blow. But this was a battle she could not avoid. Liora's rage was unquenchable, and her determination to end Iris, even at the cost of her life, was clear in every word, every swing of her fist.

As Liora lunged at her again, Iris decided it was time to end this hand-to-hand combat. Her eyes flickered with a brilliant golden light as she began to summon her true power, the heat around her intensifying. With a mere thought, her body shimmered with a radiant aura, and she leaped back gracefully, putting some distance between them.

"Enough of this," Iris said, her voice echoing with an ethereal power. "You've burned too much of yourself already, Liora. You cannot defeat me in this way."

Liora, breathing heavily, her skin slick with sweat, staggered for a moment but didn't back down. "I don't care," she growled, her fists still burning with her scarlet flames. "I'll burn everything if it means I can stop you. If it means I can stop your betrayal."

Iris's gaze softened, but only for a fleeting moment. She understood Liora's pain, her anger, but there was no turning back. She had made her choice, and if Liora stood in her way, she would be forced to fight with all her power.

"Then so be it," Iris whispered under her breath. She raised her arms, and the air around her shimmered as golden fire began to swirl, forming intricate symbols in the sky. "If you wish to continue this fight, I will not hold back."

With a sharp motion, Iris unleashed her first magical spell. "Solar Pulse!"

A massive wave of golden fire exploded from Iris's hands, shooting toward Liora with blinding speed. The sheer force of the spell cracked the earth beneath them, sending tremors through the ruins. The golden flames roared toward Liora, who quickly raised her arms, summoning her own fiery barrier.

"Scarlet Inferno Shield!" Liora's voice rang out as she created a dome of crimson fire around herself, blocking the incoming wave of energy. The impact was violent, sending shockwaves through the air, but Liora held her ground, gritting her teeth as the force of Iris's magic pushed against her.

The clash of their powers sent sparks flying, and for a moment, it seemed like Liora's shield would hold. But Iris's power was overwhelming. With a final push, the golden flames shattered the barrier, sending Liora flying backward into the crumbling remnants of a building.

Liora groaned, struggling to her feet, her body battered from the impact. She was panting heavily now, her energy draining faster than she anticipated. Still, she refused to stop. With a fierce cry, she gathered her strength and shot back into the sky.

"Is that all you've got?" Liora shouted, her voice hoarse but filled with determination. "I won't stop until you're dead!"

Without hesitation, Liora unleashed her attack. "Flame Cascade!" She stretched her arms wide, and a torrent of molten fire erupted from the sky, raining down upon Iris like a deadly inferno. The flames roared and twisted, engulfing the entire battlefield, their heat enough to melt stone and incinerate anything in their path. Experience new stories with empire

Iris raised her hand, summoning a brilliant golden barrier to block the attack. The molten fire crashed against her shield, sizzling and crackling as it tried to break through, but Iris's barrier held firm. With a sharp motion, she waved her hand, dispelling the flames in a burst of light.

Liora's eyes widened as she saw her attack dissipate so easily. But she didn't falter. She clenched her fists, summoning more power, even as her body began to tremble from the strain.

"You're using up your life for every spell," Iris said calmly, lowering her barrier. "You can't keep this up forever, Liora."

"I don't care!" Liora screamed, her voice cracking as she raised her arms once more. "Infernal Burst!"

The ground beneath them split open as a massive pillar of scarlet fire erupted from beneath Iris's feet, engulfing her in a searing blaze. The intensity of the flames was enough to vaporize any normal creature, but Iris stood unfazed within the inferno. Her golden aura shimmered around her, protecting her from the deadly heat.

"You don't understand," Iris said softly, her voice carrying through the flames. "I've already lost everything. There's nothing left for me to protect... except the truth."

With a sudden burst of power, Iris unleashed her next spell. "Celestial Pyre!"

The sky above them darkened as a massive sphere of radiant fire formed, hovering ominously above the battlefield. The sheer size of the spell dwarfed everything around it, casting a blinding light across the ruins. With a wave of her hand, Iris sent the celestial fire crashing down toward Liora.

Liora's eyes widened in shock as the massive ball of fire descended upon her. She quickly summoned her remaining strength, raising her arms to create a barrier of scarlet flames.

"Phoenix's Last Stand!" Liora shouted, pouring every ounce of her remaining energy into the spell.

The two forces collided with an earth-shattering explosion, the impact sending shockwaves through the air and shaking the very foundations of the ruins. The ground beneath them cracked and split as the sheer power of their magic tore through the landscape. Golden and scarlet flames swirled together in a violent storm, the heat so intense that the air itself seemed to burn.

For a moment, it seemed like the two forces were evenly matched, but Iris's power began to overwhelm Liora's barrier. Slowly, the scarlet flames began to falter, and Liora's barrier cracked under the immense pressure.

"No..." Liora gasped, her body trembling as she struggled to hold the barrier. "I can't... lose..."
