Chapter 381: Beast God Forest (Xuan Jiu) 4
After taking Xuan Jiu's clothes, it's time for someone to knock out Xuan Jiu.
Jinsheng and Caicai began to courteously refuse each other.
"You took the clothes, so you should go," Jinsheng said, "How can I steal your credit?"
"He's your Beast Husband, so you should go," Caicai shook his head and refused, "If I see something I shouldn't, who knows if I'll get styes."
"You, Fox Father, you go."
"Your Beast Husband, you go."
"You go."
"You go."
In the midst of pushing and shoving, Caicai simply turned into a frog: "Croak, I'm a frog, I can't knock him out, so you go."
"I'm truly speechless," Jinsheng sighed silently.
She could only turn her gaze towards Xuan Jiu.
Mist from the hot springs enveloped everything, and the white-haired fox-eared man closed his eyes luxuriantly, leaning by the hot spring's edge.
Jinsheng slowed her steps, quietly approaching.
To avoid Xuan Jiu from detecting her approach with his Mind Reading Superpower.
From the start, Jinsheng used the replicated Mind Reading Superpower and the Star System Map to shield her own inner thoughts.
Jinsheng's footsteps landed on the ground paved by round stones, and the distance between her and Xuan Jiu gradually shortened, step by step.
However, when she was only one meter away from Xuan Jiu in the hot spring, Jinsheng hastily stopped.
She frowned as she gazed at the chest soaked in the hot spring, devoid of any rise and fall of breath, glistening with water droplets.
"Wasn't your plan to knock me out?" A light chuckle sounded from behind.
Before Jinsheng could react, someone from behind suddenly pushed her into the hot spring.
The direction where Jinsheng fell happened to be where Xuan Jiu was soaking in the hot spring.
Yet with Jinsheng's touch, this Xuan Jiu shattered into scattered starry fragments of energy.
"Who soaks in a hot spring without enjoying it themselves and lets a puppet replace them!" Recognizing what the shattered 'Xuan Jiu' was, Jinsheng angrily looked up.
Her gaze met Xuan Jiu who was standing barefoot on the stones, wearing nothing but a white bathrobe, his nine tails swaying behind him.
He raised a hand, and red threads bound the frog-turned Caicai and pulled him over.
With a swift motion, he also threw Caicai into the hot spring.
"I was just wondering what to eat tonight," Xuan Jiu smiled at the corner of his mouth, "But you guys came voluntarily, jumping into the pot."
"Boo hoo hoo, Fox Father, don't eat us, frogs and stones have no meat," Caicai hurriedly pleaded for mercy.
"Frog stew with stones, just the right taste," Xuan Jiu ignored Caicai's cries and turned away to grab some mugwort from a cabinet in the stone wall and toss it into the hot spring.
"Fox Father, you asked for this," Caicai's tone turned harsh, glaring angrily at Xuan Jiu.
"Food needs to be aware of its own identity, shut up," Xuan Jiu narrowed his eyes.
Caicai was so angry, he made bubbling noises in the hot spring.
Seeing Caicai's actions, Jinsheng knew he was up to no good, and quickly started swimming to the edge of the hot spring.
As soon as Jinsheng swam away, she heard a huge splash behind her.
She turned around to see the misty hot spring surface now covered with a pile of brown poop.
"Aaaah! Caicai! Warn me before you go crazy!" Jinsheng screamed as she scrambled frantically to escape the hot spring.
Even though she knew it wasn't real poop,
the shape was offensive enough.
After Jinsheng left, the poop Caicai grew larger.
Relying solely on itself, it occupied the entire nine-meter diameter of the hot spring.
"Fox Father, still fancy frog stew with stones?" Caicai rolled his big round eyes, questioning Xuan Jiu.
Xuan Jiu looked at the abomination in the hot spring that disgusted any fox.
He tossed a handful of mugwort onto Caicai, sneering, "Perfect, I wield the ladle, and there are beastmen in this Royal City who love this kind of food."
Speaking of poop,
Caicai thought of the Mouse Beastman who locked the courtyard gate today.
The disguise scared him so much that he couldn't maintain it, immediately turning back into a carrot floating on the water.
After dealing with Caicai, Xuan Jiu turned his gaze back to Jinsheng, who was already on shore and ready to ambush him.
He curled his lip in disdain, his nine tails sweeping once.
One of the tails wrapped around Jinsheng's waist and pulled her to his front.
"A stone?" Xuan Jiu's clawed hand lightly traced Jinsheng's face.
"I'm warning you, don't cook me," Jinsheng glared fiercely, "I can turn into poop too."
"Stones aren't for soup," Xuan Jiu's eyes narrowed dangerously.
Locked in eye contact with his intensely threatening red eyes, Jinsheng watched as they grew closer.
Until Xuan Jiu tilted his head and bit into her neck.
Jinsheng raised her hand, striking at his chest.
No matter how fierce Jinsheng's attack, Xuan Jiu held on to her neck, not letting go.
It was only when Jinsheng lifted her foot, aiming straight for Xuan Jiu's groin, that he released her,
"A stone that can heat up, good to take back to the lair for warmth," Xuan Jiu looked pleased at the red bite mark on Jinsheng's neck.
"You're dead meat, you lousy fox!" Jinsheng launched an attack, first going for his fox ears.
Xuan Jiu raised a hand over her head in a loop.
Circles of red thread fell from above Jinsheng's head.
They almost wrapped her up like a mummy.
The red thread danced flexibly at Xuan Jiu's fingertips, tugging Jinsheng towards him, pulling her into his arms to be carried away.
"Hey, hey, hey! Where are you guys going, wait for me!"
Caicai quickly turned back into a fly and chased after Xuan Jiu.
But just out the hot spring door, he couldn't even trace Xuan Jiu's coat tail.
Meanwhile, Jinsheng, carried by Xuan Jiu, leaped into a well.
It was only when she held her breath that she found another world under the well.
The sky here was dark, with no starlight visible, as if it existed underground.
All the light came from glowing mushrooms.
There wasn't a single beastman in sight.
However, there were many sentient plants moving around.
Seeing Jinsheng tangled in red threads, they all raised their heads curiously.
The sentient plants transformed into various shapes and colors, resembling transparent jellies.
One jelly followed Jinsheng, tripped over an elevated step, and fell flat on its face, bouncing like, well, jelly.
As for Xuan Jiu, he pulled on the red thread, floating Jinsheng behind him like a balloon.
Until he brought Jinsheng into a red and white mushroom house.
With a reverse motion, Xuan Jiu shut the door, blocking out the curious gaze of the jelly plants that had followed them.
He flicked the red thread, directly dropping Jinsheng into a large ceramic pot filled with water.
Just as Jinsheng stood up in the one-meter-deep pot, Xuan Jiu came over and lit a fire in the stove.
"Wang Dajiu, are you really cooking me?" Jinsheng couldn't believe it.
Xuan Jiu began tossing various strange-smelling plants into the pot where she sat.
The smell of these plants mixed, similar to the faint herbal scent around him.
"You're done for, let's divorce," Jinsheng clung to the pot's edge to get out.
But Xuan Jiu pinned her hand away and pushed her back into the pot.
He curled a red thread around a wooden lid and tightly covered the ceramic pot.
Only then did he turn to rummage through jars and bottles on a wooden shelf.
Jinsheng, head under the lid, rose again to find Xuan Jiu carrying a bottle of green liquid and pouring it over her.
"There's nothing more to say; I'm divorcing you now and taking Caicai with me," Jinsheng wiped off the green liquid poured on her chest by Xuan Jiu, scrambling out of the ceramic pot to escape.
This time, Xuan Jiu did not stop her from leaving the pot.
