Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!

Chapter 121: The Final 12 Days (4)

'Nyria's checks are done, the final bolt has been secured, and I can officially say this wall is finished.' Tilting his head back a bit and examining the point of connection between the thick yet solid wooden gate, Aoni estimated the wall itself had reached an exaggerated height of 9 feet. In comparison, the arch atop the gate broke 11 or 12 feet tall.

Panning his eyes back down, Aoni scanned the surrounding areas and took it all in.

'Not an ounce of light seeping through, and the connection point for each block is nice and smooth. No overlapping stones, and most importantly, everything is flush.' Sporting a proud smile, the Lad practically glided forward with Glacia hot on his heels while Nyria touched down atop the gate.

"Now to check and see if it's all gone the way we wanted,"

"Chee Chee!"

"Gao Gao!"

"PFFtt," sputtering in laughter as his mask shattered due to what he knew to be an "Add points" from both his summons; Aoni shot them both a knowing smile before placing his hand against the cool exterior of the wall right beside the wooden gate.

'Show me my Crafter's Display.'

Reading through the simple text box, Aoni's body practically vibrated with excitement, and he inadvertently began emitting a strange sound, drawing concerned looks from his two summons.

"nnnnnngggghhhhh…." Akin to a quiet yet high-pitched squeal, the Lad's nostrils flared, and his eyes slowly turned bloodshot as his face began heating up and turning red.

Taking a single step to the side at first, Glacia looked up at her little sister, questioning with an expression that did not betray her thoughts.

"click," and although she was perched atop the wall, even Nyria mimicked her action of putting some distance between her Lord and herself…because the feeling that he was about to pop was unavoidable when witnessing his strange actions.

"REEEEEE! WE DID IT!" exploding in joy, Aoni punched in the air and jumped before dancing around in a circle with an infectious excitement that easily set Glacia off.

"OoOoOOOoOOOo!~" Not one to ignore a party, she hopped up and down before extending both arms to Aoni, as she knew if he were dancing, she'd be able to join in.

Without fail, and spotting this, the Lad held onto her paws and danced around to celebrate the momentous event.

Two long days of monotonous and repetitive work had finally yielded desirable results.

The celebrations went on for some time, and once Nyria could no longer hold herself back, she, too, joined in the happy circle, offering one wing to Aoni and the other to Glacia as they spun in a group circle while whooping and hollering without a care in the world.

By the time things finally calmed down, Aoni pushed open the gate and allowed Glacia out for her daily exercises, aka Playtime, before setting his sights on upgrading the Rampart.

His gains in building this colossal yet proportional structure were by no means small, and upon looking at his Progress Points, he could already feel his fingers itching to spend them.

Progress Points: 1422.78

Breaking his record was world-shattering, but he refused to allow himself to get swept away by greed; the amount of effort that not only he but also his summons had exerted since they finished their hibernations was a monumental task in and of itself.

Hundreds of hunts, mapping of his small territory, explorations, crafting, and the WALL all culminated in a vast amount of progress points, and it wouldn't be an easy task to replicate.

And now, it was time to burn those points.

In a similar vein with which Aoni decided to spend his wealth to strengthen Glacia and Nyria for their safety, the same thought was extended to the new Rampart.

Through his Attribute, he could solidify, strengthen, and empower it by a large margin, and this time, he planned on pushing it as far as possible, no matter the cost.

The fact that Aoni would be forced to leave his summons behind and return to Terra in about two weeks weighed heavily on the Lad's mind. Every little thing he could do to increase the chances of not only his Flume but also his summons surviving long enough for him to come back to Genovia, no matter the cost, would be done.

'Increase the durability of my Rampart.'

'Again,'

'Again,'

'Again,'

'Again,'

'Again,'

Over and over, Aoni rapidly increased the Durability of his Rampart, ignoring not only the cost but also his returns without tearing his eyes away from the stone he was pressing against.

At first, there was no discernable change in the material, but with each upgrade, he would notice an ever so slight, barely perceivable change in the rough texture.

If he were to blink, Aoni would miss it. Still, because he was focusing intently, he was able to spot a faint shift, almost like sand rubbing together, occurring on the stone, and he didn't have to look around to understand it wasn't just the point of contact this was happening with, it was the entire structure.

From rankless to F+, Aoni continuously pushed the Ramparts' durability until it reached its current maximum before moving on to its defense.

This time, unlike the changes that happened when increasing durability, each Step Upgrade brought about a slight color change in the material of the wall.

From its original deep, dark shade of slate gray, almost black, to a light clay color not unlike that of typical model clay back on Terra.

However, this stone was FAR from the soft, malleable clay; no, it was DENSE, tough, and at a glance, Aoni fully understood that even if he attacked it with his full strength, the only outcome would be a broken weapon…or bone.
