Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 115: The days to come...

5 days passed uneventfully,

Lucas had trained his skills the whole time while also making sure that he won't be getting any more of them.

Getting skills some time ago would have been nice but getting them now was a big no. Lucas was already pretty bummed about the number of skills he had, adding more would be like digging his own grave.

His punch's proficiency had increased to 35% which was better than most of his skills. The numbers on the status were not the only thing that increased but Lucas could now make a few bumps on the hard big trees that no matter how much the group tried, they weren't able to cut them.

The thin and small trees were normal just like the ones in every nook and cranny of the society on Earth but the big ones were different.

When others saw that the trees were very resilient and hard, Lucas had his eyes sparkling with excitement. If they were anytime going to successfully cut these trees, the planks and other stuff would be too precious of an ingredient.

Aside from the repetitive training that also had bottlenecks to surpass, Lucas also talked to his distant relatives and some English names in the big normal list which was above the blood relatives one.

Some did not appreciate getting called this late but Lucas had to rebuke them about how they could have also called him. Things escalated with many but Lucas from the start was like this, aside from his family, the others didn't mean much as he was never close to them just like his family.

The only reason he called each and everyone was to offer them his service with the help of John's and his mother's expertise in sales.

He got rejected by many even when he had offered to give a buffed smoked meat piece as a sample. But out of many, there were still people who had a good attitude.

Some people always get down in life just because they get succumbed to arrogance with little success. Lucas had a mindset in which he was not humble but also not arrogant.

He had the idea of making good happen to people who were with him at his worst and being the worst for them who he didn't like or didn't treat him all right.

It was cliched thinking but still pretty efficient when it came to making a basic set of moral that one try to follow their whole life with discipline yet many don't achieve even after being resilient for years.

The some people included his close cousin and two distant ones that he was in contact with through the years. All the adults were a no-go as Lucas was just a child in front of their eyes but they were still very surprised seeing his level.

He didn't share any of his skills with anyone unlike Haley's cooking skills which shouldn't have been a surprise as it could give abnormal buffs.

Lucas gave samples and after eating them, he got orders from his side making the meat storage in his cold room increase little by little. Even John brought active orders and Sarah too.

Haley and Sandra tried but they couldn't find anyone who was strong enough to even hunt.

Now it all came to the potency of the meat, in cold storage, he was confident that the smoked meat would last more than a month but it still had time before his hypothesis could stand correct.

All this time, getting the mana potion had been better as another cauldron was made while the mortar and pestle were also ready. Lucas just went on to start making the dried leaves, stems, and roots through a process inside the mortar in order to make a powder. Experience tales with empire

The work became even easy and his Potion Brewery skill was now at level 2. But Lucas didn't feel like he had any more knowledge about the equipment besides the some he knew from gaining the skill.

But he, in turn, started feeling sensitive toward the herbs and the magical plants inside the forest. Many were ready and even if they looked normal other than the fanciness. Lucas knew how they looked while exerting the element they belonged to.

He also went to the fiery aura plant that he wanted to look at for a long time and after observing, Lucas was very disappointed. Neither did he have a safe way to extract such an extravagant herb but he also didn't know any of its uses.

At the end of the day, he only made Normal level Mana potions of the Common grade in these days fearing that his time would waste if he looked and experimented on more plants and he had a lot of different ones lined up inside the storage.

The storage itself was pretty big and got filled real quick leaving some shelves that were too high to keep things near the hand and safe empty.

All the weapons, and products of the dismantle including hides, fangs, claws, and blood were stuffed inside including the food which took up to fifty percent of the space. Water and potions were also present but they were in the buckets on the ground so it didn't matter.

Lucas had no use for most of the stuff but he still collected them.

In total, around 40 liters of mana potion were kept inside the shelter and without safe containers to keep its potency active. The mana potion of the Normal level became Low level in only two days. Lucas thought of getting a lid but he couldn't make one on his own.

He had to order again from John's cousin who like always took his dear time to make his order. His work was good but still, the time taken for such a measly order was like walking on glass shards on the ground slowly while torturing oneself.

Still, the potency decreased but not to the point that it would reach the extremely common grade.

The quantity won over the quality and everyone had a hard time losing their mana as using these potions even when they were exhausting their mana slowly made the mana recharge automatically which eliminated the breaks aside from when they got tired mentally or physically.

As Lucas continued to navigate the challenges of maintaining the potency of his mana potions, he couldn't shake off his dissatisfaction with the quality decline. He knew that if he could find a way to preserve their potency for longer periods, it would significantly enhance their value and usefulness.

The quantity may have made them unhinged for now but it still felt wrong that his work was getting plummeted because of natural reasons.

In the meantime, Lucas focused on other aspects of his days. He spent his days honing his skills, refining his potion brewing techniques, and exploring the forest in search of new herbs and magical plants. Each day brought new discoveries, and he carefully cataloged his to-do list on a big rock with the help of hard twigs that worked like a pen.

He didn't want to forget about any of the skill training or what he had to try later. Inscribing it made him remember stuff and he even made the others inspired by the idea alas there were no more rocks as Lucas declined their request of writing on the same one.

The texts would get cramped up and he knew he won't feel like looking at it if that happened.

On the last day, Lucas had the opportunity of finding a plant with a blue hue on it. At once, he knew with the mixture of his herbalism knowledge and the sensitivity of ingredients for potion brewing that it contained a really concentrated healing energy.

But like always, he didn't know how to excavate it. Alas, a curious mind sometimes tends to destroy things for short-term gains. Lucas plucked some of the leaves of the plant and after using his perceptive eyes, he saw the healing energy fade away from the leaves he plucked.

Disappointment filled his heart and he vowed to never do such a dumb thing again. With a concern for the livelihood of the plant, Lucas went far away from it.

The seeds inside the shelter's territory that were sowed by Sandra were starting to show above the ground. They were still only two centimeters in height but Lucas and the others were satisfied that they were growing.

Everyone had worked hard in these days with a set of problems for each of them. The desperation to have a hold of their lives made all of them struggle to greatness which they didn't realize at the time.

And before he could do anything else, the shelter's resources were already collected and it was time for the next upgrade which made Lucas's stomach tingle with worry and excitement.

The upgrades to the shelter were going to be random and unknown like usual and that was always the greatest worry Lucas had in his mind.

Have a good day!
