Chapter 783 - Don’t Make Us Do It Again
"We have Broken with us today!" Brando announced enthusiastically as Leon settled into his seat across from him.
The cameras zoomed in on Leon's face as he did his best to force a smile, giving a small wave toward the viewers.
Hopefully, that was a convincing enough smile.
For the first time, he realized that being on camera, knowing thousands—maybe millions—were watching, wasn't as easy as it looked. The pressure felt real, and instead of helping him relax like usual, it made him feel tense.
"Thanks for having me today, Brando," Leon said, keeping his voice steady.
"Oh, that's so humble of you, huh?" Brando grinned. "I mean, let's be real—you've been putting on some insane performances in past competitions. I was there, and whoa! You pulled off miracle after miracle! That was incredible—and honestly? I'm looking forward to seeing more of that magic today."
Leon nodded, offering a polite smile. "Thanks for the compliments. I just hope my performance in the Blacksmith Competition won't disappoint your expectations."
Brando laughed, clapping his hands together. "But surely, Broken—okay, okay, I know this interview is supposed to be about the competition. But… this is a rare opportunity, and I'm not going to waste it."
Brando leaned forward, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"So, my question is… and yeah, I'm not holding back—tell me how you ended up marrying Queen Alora." Experience more on My Virtual Library Empire
Then, he dramatically paused, his face shifting into an exaggerated expression of shock before turning toward the camera.
"I'm sure this is the question that's been on everyone's minds, right? I know you all watching at home want to hear the answer to this one, don't you?"
Leon forced a smile.
He had expected this question to come up—he knew it was only a matter of time. The problem was, this time, he couldn't avoid it like he usually did with surprise interviews.
Leon had learned a lot about handling public conversations over the past few months. Being around friends who came from wealthy, high-profile backgrounds had taught him a thing or two—people like Heejin, a celebrity who lived in the spotlight, or Euna, who carried herself with effortless confidence as someone from an extremely wealthy family.
He knew very well that even now, there were still many people who disliked what had happened in the game. After all, he had taken Alora, a woman worshipped by thousands—perhaps millions—as their untouchable goddess… and made her his wife.
That alone had shattered the illusions of many who had dreamed of being with her, idolizing her as though she were a divine figure beyond reach.
And it wasn't just about her beauty—it was everything. Alora's unmatched power, her flawless reputation, and her mystique had made her one of the most talked-about figures online.
The High Elf Queen held the top spot as the most admired and feared figure in Immortal Legacy—a ruler both stunningly beautiful and unbelievably powerful.
Alora was second.
And recently, Ivana's popularity had been rapidly rising—especially after she revealed her Dragon form.
People were still speculating about what kind of dragon she truly was. Some even theorized that she was connected to the Dragon Princess, though without solid confirmation, it remained a rumor for now.
Still, that speculation alone had boosted Ivana's status to third place, right below Alora.
Now, Leon was ready to answer the question. He knew his response would likely make even more people hate him.
Well… he didn't really care.
As long as they kept their complaints online, it didn't matter to him.
And if anyone actually tried to confront him in person? Well, he had King—his massive, powerhouse of a bodyguard—ready to shut that down instantly.
Yeah, Leon could fight too—especially that he had started training in martial arts and pushing his physical limits further than ever before. But he wasn't the kind of guy who would bother responding to something like this with violence.
Still, he understood—this wasn't a simple issue for a lot of people. Which meant… he needed to give them an answer that would be as satisfying as possible.
Leon exhaled slowly, his forced smile shifting into something more composed—calculated. He leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on the armrests of his chair, and looked directly at Brando.
"You know… I get why people are curious about this," he began, his tone steady but firm. "From the outside, it probably looks like I just appeared out of nowhere and suddenly ended up with Queen Alora. But the truth is, that's far from everything people think they know."
He let those words sink in before continuing.
"I didn't just meet her and suddenly decide, 'Hey, let's get married.' No. We fought together. We bled together. We survived together."
The energy in the room shifted. Brando, usually quick to jump in, stayed silent, letting him speak.
"I went through countless battles by her side. We faced things together that most people will never even hear about—because some fights aren't meant for public stories. And for a long time, I wasn't sure what she meant to me. I wasn't looking for power. I wasn't looking for fame. But when you've stood next to someone through life and death, when you've trusted each other in ways no one else could understand… that's where the bond forms."
Leon let out a quiet chuckle, shaking his head. "And you know what? I don't expect everyone to accept that. I don't expect people to be happy about it. But there's something you all need to understand."
He leaned forward, his gaze unwavering.
"Following the passing of King Alorik, only two individuals now bear the Golden Paragon."
The room seemed to still hear those words.
"And those two people… are her and me."
Leon let the weight of that statement settle in before sighing and sitting back.
"So I get it. I get that some people are upset. I get that some people want to lash out—at her, at me, even at the Dissidia Kingdom itself—just because they think things should have gone differently. But let me make something very, very clear—stop troubling Dissidia."
His voice was calm, but there was steel in his tone.
"In-game or out of it, if you still think it's a good idea to come after her, then fine. But know this—you're not just facing her. You're facing me. And you're facing the Vensalor Guild."
Leon's gaze flickered to the camera, his expression unwavering.
"We stood before the gates of Dissidia once before to teach a lesson to those who tried. Don't make us do it again."
Brando let out a slow exhale, visibly taken aback by Leon's answer. Then, he chuckled before shaking his head.
"Well… damn." He leaned back in his chair. "You guys heard him, right? I mean… I'm not saying you have to like it, but let's be real—if Broken and Vensalor are standing at the Dissidia gates, that's not exactly a fight most people can walk away from in one piece."
Brando turned back to Leon, a knowing grin on his face.
"And honestly? That's probably the most straightforward warning we've ever had on this show. So, for all the hotheads out there still trying to make this an issue… well, consider yourselves warned."
He clapped his hands together, shifting gears smoothly.
"Now then! Before we start a war in the comment sections, let's move on to something just as intense—because next up, we're diving straight into one of the biggest competitions of this event. That's right, folks—The Blacksmith Competition is about to begin! And guess what? Broken himself is competing."
"So, stay tuned because after this break, we're going to witness some of the best crafters in Yunatea go head-to-head."
"Will we see another Legendary-grade item appear?"
"Will Lanceshot's confidence hold up against the competition?"
"And more importantly…"
"Will Broken prove that he's more than just a fighter?"
"You don't wanna miss this. We'll be right back!"
[WhiteRoseFluff]: "BROKEN JUST SAID 'SIT DOWN' IN THE MOST DIPLOMATIC WAY POSSIBLE. RESPECT."
[Richard_Hine]: "Lanceshot out here talking like he's the main character, meanwhile Broken casually drops 'I hold the Golden Paragon' and walks off like it's nothing."
[Ehren_McClelland]: "Did Brando just realize mid-interview that he might actually cause a world war? Man literally took a deep breath before changing topics LMAO."
[Sam_Coleman_2663]: "Bro really said 'we stood at the gates once before' like he's about to drop a DLC boss fight. I'm scared, and I'm not even IN the game."
[RAPHAELM2903]: "All hail Queen Alora, and her husband, THE KING OF NOT GIVING A SINGLE F*."
[DaoisttdRP8J]: "'Don't make us do it again.' OKAY SIR, WE UNDERSTAND, PLEASE FORGIVE US."
[Jeff_Thompson]: "This man just said 'STAY IN YOUR LANE' but in a way that made half the server reconsider their life choices."
