Chapter 765 - Did Broken Cheat?
[TEAM DESTROYER HAS SECURED THE LAST HIT ON THE RAID BOSS!]
The massive announcement flashed across the giant screen, confirming what many had refused to believe possible.
Team Destroyer had won.
For a moment, the stadium was silent.
Instead of immediate cheers, shock rippled through the crowd—players and spectators alike left stunned, their mouths slightly open as they processed what had just happened.
Then—
Brando's voice exploded through the speakers.
"UNBELIEVABLE! TEAM DESTROYER SECURES THE LAST HIT! AGAINST ALL ODDS—BROKEN AND HIS TEAM STEAL VICTORY RIGHT AT THE END!"
The silence shattered.
The entire stadium ERUPTED into cheers.
A few furious players stomped their feet, their frustration boiling over at how victory had slipped through their fingers at the very last second.
Inside the game, the aftermath of the battle unfolded. Several frustrated players, having failed to claim victory, rage quit, immediately logging out in frustration.
Meanwhile, near the center of the battlefield, Starfall spun around in excitement. She barely hesitated before throwing herself at Broken, wrapping her arms around him.
"Broken, we won! We won!" she screamed with pure joy.
Broken, still catching his breath from the intense fight, let out a rare smile. Victory was theirs.
The big screen in the arena broadcasted their celebration, displaying the three remaining members of Team Destroyer. Charmelyn stood slightly apart from them, her expression unreadable beneath the mask that covered the lower half of her face.
Noticing this, Starfall immediately turned and pulled Charmelyn into a tight hug, sharing their moment of triumph together.
A few moments later, the three emerged from their capsule devices in the real world. As they stepped onto the stage, Goldrich, Kingsley, and Melliandra approached, joining them in celebration.
The arena buzzed with energy as media crews and camera operators quickly swarmed in, eager to interview the victors.
Team Destroyer had done it.
The questions came rapid-fire, most of them aimed directly at Starfall. It was no surprise—after all, she wasn't just a top-tier player, but also a globally recognized celebrity, actress, and singer. Her presence alone had drawn countless fans to the event, many of whom were now cheering from the stands.
"Starfall—or should I say, Heejin? This grand event has gathered viewers from all over the world, and I've noticed that a huge number of them are your fans. What would you like to say to them?"
Starfall smiled humbly and responded, "Thanks for the support, everyone! Playing here was an amazing experience, and knowing that my fans were cheering for me made it even more special. I appreciate you all!"
But then came the question that made the crowd buzz with curiosity—
"Starfall, what's your relationship with Broken? You two seem really close. Is there something special between you?"
Starfall turned slightly, directing her attention to another question. "Broken is a leader and a player I deeply respect and admire."
"People want to know more details."
"Is there a romantic connection between you two? You've posted pictures together before, haven't you?"
The media kept pressing, but before she could respond, another wave of questions was suddenly redirected toward Broken.
"Broken, many people are wondering—why didn't you show up from the beginning? Was there a specific reason? Did you underestimate your opponents?"
"Broken, what's the secret behind the tool you used to solve the puzzles so easily? Was it some kind of exploit or cheat?"
The cameras zoomed in as Broken finally answered, his voice calm yet firm.
"We never underestimated any of our opponents. I wasn't here from the start because I was dealing with something important—something that couldn't wait."
"As for the tool? It was just an ordinary pickaxe. Nothing special about it."
But then, another question shifted the focus entirely.
"Broken, you're the only player in Immortal Legacy who has managed to marry one of the most powerful and influential figures in Yunatea. But people are curious—do you have any romantic connections with other players outside the game?"
Broken's expression remained neutral, his response composed yet straightforward.
"I feel like my time is already occupied with the game, my studies, and my family. And also… my friends."
His words left just enough mystery to fuel further speculation, while at the same time, making it clear that he wasn't interested in entertaining unnecessary gossip. Enjoy new chapters from My Virtual Library Empire
After answering a barrage of questions, Leon and his team stepped off the stage and made their way toward the waiting room. Inside, familiar faces were already there—Booyoung, Euna, Maylon, Ronald, Freya, and Lily—waiting for them with expectant grins.
As soon as Leon entered, Booyoung's loud laughter filled the room. He immediately slung an arm around Leon's shoulders, patting his back with enthusiasm.
"The hero never fails to amaze everyone." Booyoung smirked.
Ronald, standing nearby with his arms crossed, chimed in. "Well, as the manager, I have to say—I'm proud of how this team turned out."
Booyoung turned toward him, raising an eyebrow. "And I hate you for not including me in it."
Ronald didn't miss a beat. "Well, to be honest, Booyoung, this team didn't really need you. Your level's too low. Hahaha."
"Shut up, I'm a Wrath Champion!" Booyoung retorted.
"By bribing your way in," Euna quipped, smirking.
Laughter erupted around the room.
Ronald then clapped his hands together. "Alright, I've got dinner planned—and it's on me. Let's go. A few others are joining us too. Optimus and Trison will be there."
Booyoung turned to Leon with a teasing grin. "You're free, right?"
Leon chuckled, nodding slightly. "Like I'd ever miss a chance to hang out with you guys."
Booyoung smacked him on the back—this time harder—grinning. "Shut up, playboy. Who taught you to sound this smooth? You do realize that after tonight, Heejin's fans are going to hunt you down, right?"
At that, all eyes turned toward Heejin.
The moment she realized the attention was on her, Heejin's eyes widened in shock as she frantically shook her head. "No, they won't! My fans are so kind!"
Euna, arms crossed, raised an eyebrow. "Yeah… I'm not so sure about that."
The entire room burst into laughter.
Shortly after Team Destroyer's victory, interview clips from various players began circulating online, fueling intense discussions across gaming forums and social media.
One particularly heated interview came from Mooz, who still seemed bitter about the outcome.
"I firmly believe the tournament officials need to review the results of this match," Mooz stated. "Broken didn't follow the rules properly. He used a tool to force their way through to victory. That's completely unfair."
In another interview, Venom, who had faced Broken directly, voiced his own frustrations.
"Broken had way too many summons. He basically brought extra personnel into the game. Summons shouldn't be allowed in a competition like this—it just turns everything into a numbers game. I think the rules need to be clarified moving forward."
Other players also chimed in, some of them sounding outright furious.
"We refuse to participate in the final round if Broken's exploits are allowed to continue. The puzzles were meant to be solved, not bypassed! That completely defeats the purpose of this match. It's about solving puzzles, not breaking them!"
The controversy surrounding Broken's unconventional gameplay was growing rapidly, and it was clear that the debate was far from over.
As the controversy surrounding Broken's victory spread, Heejin's fans also began voicing their frustration online. Social media was flooded with heated comments, sparking debates across multiple platforms.
"I love Heejin, but I don't trust Broken at all. He's just using her popularity to boost his own name!"
"BROKEN, KEEP YOUR DISTANCE FROM OUR QUEEN. She doesn't need you to shine—she's already a global star. Stop stealing the spotlight!"
"This guy is literally ruining Starfall's brand. Why does she even team up with him???"
"I bet he's just riding on Heejin's fame. He's not even that special—just another overhyped player."
"Heejin's fans should BOYCOTT any event where Broken is involved. We need to make our voices heard!"
"Starfall's interviews are always so classy, and then you have Broken acting like nothing happened. He doesn't deserve to be in the same spotlight as her!"
Ronald grumbled in frustration, scrolling through the endless complaints and accusations flooding the internet as they sat together for dinner with the guild members.
"These assholes!" he snapped, his grip tightening on his phone. "Do I need to step up my game and give them a reality check? Maybe a nice, hard slap to wake them up?!"
