Ethen nodded and walked inside. The interior was not only spacious but also well decorated. However, upon entering, he felt a chilly wind seemingly breeze through the house.

"Hmm, there's definitely something odd here! A low level Iron ranked warrior wouldn't be able to withstand this chilling wind..." Ethen thought to himself.

With a slight shake, he summoned a surge of powerful vitality and energy, dispelling the cold wind and making himself feel much more comfortable.

"Let's see what's really behind this haunting," Ethen murmured as he began to inspect the house.

There was nothing unusual in the living room. Opening the master bedroom revealed nothing. The secondary bedroom also held no surprises.

Just as Ethen was about to open the bathroom door, he heard a low, eerie laughter emanating from inside. The laughter lacked any joy and was instead filled with sorrow and resentment.

"Haha, hahaha, hahahaha..."

The continuous laughter sent chills down one's spine. This was Ethen's first experience with such an occurrence. Although it made his scalp tingle slightly, he was not afraid.

He summoned Blux, preparing for battle. Taking a deep breath, Ethen forcefully turned the doorknob and then kicked the bathroom door open.

Bang!

The door swung open, revealing a shocking scene: a woman in a white dress with disheveled hair was brushing her teeth in front of the mirror, laughing eerily as she did so.

Upon closer inspection, the woman's face was pale, and her mouth was full of blood. Yet she continued to laugh maniacally, creating a profoundly unsettling atmosphere.

"My child, are you my child? Call me, Mother..." the woman said, seemingly aware of Ethen's presence, as she turned to him.

Hearing her words, Ethen was immediately infuriated. Meeting someone for the first time and trying to claim them as your child were even ghosts looking to take advantage nowadays?

"Call my foot!" Ethen shouted in anger, partly to refuse her and partly to bolster his own courage.

He then commanded Blux to activate Skill 2: Whispering in the Rainy Night. Ethen had realized that this pale faced, long haired woman wasn't a real entity, but a manifestation created by a malevolent spirit.

To deal with such spirits, the best countermeasure was to use mental skills. Whispering in the Rainy Night was unleashed, and the mental control penetrated directly into the woman's mind.

In the eyes of the long haired woman in white, Blux transformed into a young man holding a lantern, whispering on a rainy night.

The sound of rain poured down, and the whispers continued. Instantly, the woman's mind was captivated. She gazed blankly at the lantern holding youth, as if recalling memories from the past.

Seeing that the woman in white had been entranced, Ethen immediately seized the opportunity to launch an attack.

"Blux, attack!"

With a low shout, Blux responded instantly, striking and shattering the head of the woman in white. In the next moment, her body gradually dissipated into nothingness, leaving no trace behind.

"It was indeed a malevolent spirit!" Ethen thought to himself as he witnessed the scene.

After defeating the Evil spirit, the system did not notify Ethen that he had completed the task of "first kill of a Nether beast."

Ethen deduced that the woman in white was not the Nether Beast itself but rather a manifestation of one of its skills.

"Where could it be?" Ethen muttered to himself.

At that moment, he felt a chilling sensation behind him. Through the mirror above the sink, Ethen saw a small boy.

"Mommy, where are you? Mommy?" the boy cried, searching for his mother.

The boy's appearance seemed normal, but his crimson eyes hinted at something eerie.

"Another spirit?" Ethen quickly turned around.

Armed with the experience from earlier, Ethen immediately directed Blux to attack the boy as soon as he appeared.

Bang!

Blux shattered the boy's figure with a single strike. After consecutively defeating the woman in white and the boy, Ethen realized that these spirits were not particularly powerful; they seemed to have no offensive capabilities beyond being frightening.

The woman in white and the boy must have been skills released by the Nether Beast. Ethen estimated that if the Nether Beast's skills were this weak, it probably wasn't very strong itself. After dispatching the boy, the bathroom fell silent.

"Finally, it's over..." Ethen exhaled, preparing to leave the bathroom and check the kitchen.

However, before he could leave, a third spirit appeared in the bathroom. This spirit, too, materialized near the sink.

He was wearing a plaid shirt, carrying a backpack, and appeared haggard as he stared blankly at the mirror, tidying his thinning hair.

Judging by his age, he was a young man. From his appearance and attire, he looked like a programmer.

Just by observing the young man's features, Ethen deduced that he was the father of the little boy because they resembled each other so closely.

"Are these spirits a family of three? Interesting!" Ethen thought, and with a swift move, Blux smashed the young man's head.

After the young man vanished, Ethen did not leave the bathroom. He wanted to see if a fourth spirit would appear. But after waiting for a while, nothing else occurred.

"Three spirits appeared in the same spot in the bathroom, and these spirits are likely a family of three. What could this signify?" he pondered.

Ethen's thoughts raced as he carefully examined every corner of the bathroom. Suddenly, his gaze fell upon the mirror above the washbasin.

"It's the mirror!"

Ethen noticed that the three ghosts had all appeared opposite the mirror. In other words, the appearance of the three was related to this mirror! He sneered and directed Blux to smash the mirror with a paw.

"Awuuu!"

Just as Blux's paw was about to touch the surface of the mirror, a scream came from within it. Sure enough, there was something strange!

"Please, please, don't kill me!"

A thought came from inside the mirror. However, Ethen did not hesitate and continued directing Blux to attack.
