Chapter 219: Welcome back
Elias kept Astralious in the dark, even when he was attempting something so dangerous. He simply told Astralious that he had arranged for a soul, not telling him that it was his own soul.
He didn't give Astralious a moment to increase his questions, and proceeded right away. He placed his hand on his chest, and mumbled, "Precise Extraction."
A screen appeared before him, with information on every material that he could extract from himself. The list had grown quite long, but he selected the most primary material, which was his own soul.
After selecting his soul, he received a few arrow keys before the name, which allowed him to select what percentage of his soul he wanted to extract.
Elias decided to extract one ten percent of his soul, to keep control of the situation and to ensure that his main soul wasn't seriously hurt with the extraction.
Even with ten percent extraction, it was a dangerous endeavour, but he proceeded with it. However, it wasn't before he stuffed a piece of cloth in his mouth, expecting a soul tearing pain before it even came.
....
"I wonder how long we will have to wait."
Helen had been waiting for the last three hours since the test ended. But Kaelen still didn't come out. Elten was also waiting, as the last surviving student of the Destroyer Class hadn't arrived yet either.
With each passing hour, Helen was growing more and more frustrated since the Academy was constantly sending a message for her, to make her come back to Academy with the heir.
The Academy was extremely eager to bring the heir back, especially the Dean. She was even told that she would be heavily rewarded for finding the heir, even though she didn't actually have any contribution in it.
Because of the situation with the heir of Ice Phoenix Flames, the Academy seemed to have completely forgotten about the deaths of almost two entire classes, which involved many heirs of founding families.
Fortunately, the information hadn't reached the families yet, as the Academy kept this information suppressed for now. Even they knew that it was only a temporary measure as they couldn't stop the arrival of a storm. But they didn't care about that yet.
Fortunately, it was in the fourth hour that the flaming barrier started to disperse, and it looked like the heir was finally awake.
Elias had already covered the hole in the ground next to his bed, to ensure that no link with the merger storm could be detected. Only after that, he dared to remove the storm.
"You are finally awak-" Helen exclaimed as she stood up with the flaming barrier's disappearance. However, her expressions grew serious when she saw Kaelen who looked a little pale.
"Are you alright?" She quickly rushed to Kaelen, and checked his condition. She couldn't find anything strange, other than the fact that he looked exhausted.
"Can we go back now?" Elias didn't answer her, and quickly changed the topic. If possible, he didn't want to be near Elten, who hated Kaelen.
Helen might not know the intricacies of the soul, but Elten was different. He was a Necromancer, whose main profession was dealing with souls and the dead.
Elias didn't want Elten to get close to him to notice anything strange about his soul.
"R-right. The Academy is eagerly waiting for your return." Helen wrapped her arms around Elias's waist, and almost shoved his face in her breasts to hold him tightly.
Once she had a firm grasp of him, she flew high, bidding farewell to Elten without even glancing back.
She soon entered the battleship of the Creator Faction, and within seconds, the battleship flew away, disappearing into space.
Elten was left behind, pondering in silence. Kaelen had returned to the Academy. It meant he was going to be in the protection of the Academy. But it also meant that there were more chances for him to deal with that boy.
It was just like Elias had suggested. The Academy was going to train the boy. They were definitely going to send him to some training ground, which was the opportunity for him to strike. Until then, he just had to wait.
"The heir of Ice Phoenix Flames has appeared. Do you think it might affect the grand plan?" A person came out from Elten's shadow, and asked. "There are too many variables now. Chronos, your father, the Academy, the Inheritor of the Flames, and..."
Elten didn't answer the question. He simply remained silent, gazing at the merger storm in the distance, inside which his little brother was hiding.
Time kept trickling away slowly, and soon, a few five more hours passed away. It was the middle of the night when the evolution of Lycorice had finally completed.
She was floating in the air, but when the merger was completed, her body slowly landed on the ground. She slowly opened her eyes, and there were many more emotions than there used to be in the past.
She didn't look as naive as she did in the past. If anything, there were also signs of intelligence. She had also reached the realm of a Constellation, and not just an ordinary Constellation.
In one fell swoop, Lycorice had evolved from a low tier fable, to a mid-tier Constellation, jumping through at least five states of evolution. It was even more miraculous since she came from a mere low tier world.
When she opened her eyes, the first person she saw was Elias, who was sitting on the ground, looking at her. His face was also pale, but his situation looked to be even worse than Kaelen, as his breathing was also haggard.
Elias tried to heal his body, but it wasn't enough. The extent of soul this body had received, was barely one tenth of an intact soul. He didn't even have Astralious with him, to support him this time, as Astralious left with the main body.
"Welcome back, little one." Even though he looked to be injured, he smiled and welcomed Lycorice who had just finished her evolution.
