"Sure, next time I'll serve you straight up." Ayr scoffed.

Seeing Ayr's dismissive expression, Byrnndi Wald's fury only grew. "Don't get cocky, you bastard! If it weren't for the Marines, you'd be paying for what you did today!"

Not only had he gained nothing from this auction, but he had also lost countless crew members.

Even worse, he had no way to retaliate against Ayr.

There was nowhere to vent his frustration.

"Alright, don't spout big words before running away. It just makes you look pathetic."

"You…!!!" Byrnndi Wald gritted his teeth in rage.

As much as he wanted to fight, he knew better. Survival came first.

With Marine Admirals and the Marshal himself here, staying on Hive Island was suicide.

Once Byrnndi Wald was gone, Kaido stepped forward, his gaze locked onto Ayr.

"Ayr, hand over that Devil Fruit you got."

Kaido had briefly held off Byrnndi Wald, assisting Ayr. Naturally, he expected compensation.

"Let's focus on getting off this island alive first," Ayr replied casually.

"Alright, that's a promise," Kaido nodded.

Kaido misinterpreted Ayr's words, assuming that after escaping, the Devil Fruit would be his.

"Huh? What did I just say?" Ayr raised an eyebrow, confused by Kaido's certainty.

Still, he didn't bother correcting him. Why explain something when he had no intention of giving Kaido the Devil Fruit anyway?

Young Kaido was so inexperienced, so easy to manipulate.

Without another word, Ayr glanced around before swiftly moving away, searching for a way off Hive Island.

Kaido followed closely behind.

"Why are you trailing me?" Ayr asked suspiciously.

"Marine's strongest forces are all on this island. Moving alone is too risky," Kaido replied.

Kaido had heard Byrnndi Wald loud and clear—the Marines were here in full force.

Facing them alone would be suicidal. Sticking with Ayr increased his odds of survival.

"Maybe you're in danger, but that doesn't mean I am," Ayr smirked.

Even if all three Admirals and Marshal Marine were leading this operation, Ayr had a way to survive.

"Stop acting tough. We both have a better shot at survival if we work together," Kaido huffed.

He had fought alongside Whitebeard for years under Rocks D. Xebec. There was no mistaking that energy.

"Could it be… Whitebeard is here too?" Ayr stroked his chin, deep in thought.

What was he doing on Hive Island?

Regardless of the reason, a new idea formed in Ayr's mind.

Whitebeard would be their best chance at escape.

His Six Paths Sage Mode was a trump card, but once used, it would be gone.

Breaking through the Marines' siege without using it was nearly impossible.

But if Whitebeard joined them?

Their chances would skyrocket.

Determined, Ayr changed course, sprinting toward the source of the tremors.

Kaido noticed the sudden shift but said nothing—he simply followed.

An Unfortunate Encounter

As they dashed through the streets, their path was suddenly blocked.

Four extremely familiar figures stood in their way.

Garp. Sengoku. Zephyr. Tsuru.

Ayr's eyes widened.

The four Marines, equally shocked, stared back.

"Ayr!" Sengoku was the first to react.

"Hahaha! Well, well, we meet again!" Garp grinned, clenching his fists eagerly.

"Didn't expect to run into Ayr so soon after landing on Hive Island," Zephyr remarked, arms crossed.

"The one next to him… isn't that Kaido?" Tsuru glanced at the young pirate beside Ayr.

Tsk.

Ayr's expression darkened.

He had expected Marshal Marine and three Admirals.

But now, even Garp, Sengoku, Zephyr, and Tsuru were here?!

This was a problem.

These four were Vice Admirals, but in terms of power, they were on par with Admirals.

Ayr couldn't understand—why was Marine Headquarters sending so much firepower?

Who else was on Hive Island today?

Why were the Marines going all out?

The answer, unfortunately, was him.

Marine Headquarters had learned of his presence.

"Rushing in so recklessly… typical Kaido," Zephyr muttered.

Tsuru sighed. "Young and impulsive as always."

Meanwhile, Ayr exhaled, rubbing his temples.

Wow. Kaido was really this brave, huh?

Or just really, really dumb.
