Legacy of Hero: Rise of Kairon

Chapter 23: – The Aura-less vs The Untouchable

[Mirror. Silence. A reflection.]

Ryan Valeborn stared at himself. His eyes—once brown—now shimmered a deep galactic blue.He blinked. Touched his face.

— "Could it be… do I have Aura?"

He inhaled deeply. Tried to channel it.Nothing. No spark. No glow.

— "Maybe it's just my imagination..." — he whispered, disappointed.

[The door opened.]

A familiar figure stepped in.

— "Hey, young Ryan."

It was him.

Inavy Stormbreak.

Ryan quickly bowed, surprised and excited.

— "Inavy-san! It's great to see you here!"

Inavy walked up, placing a hand on Ryan's shoulder.

— "Nervous?"

Ryan smiled faintly.

— "A little… but I'm giving it everything I've got."

— "I know you are," Inavy replied, with a calm seriousness.— "But I want you to remember something: you're the first Aura-less ever to make it this far in a Draft. No matter what happens out there… to me, you're already a hero."

Ryan took a deep breath. The words echoed inside him.

— "So go out there… and show them what you're made of."

He closed his eyes. Then opened them with a newfound determination.

— "I'm going out there and… I WILL BREAK MY LIMITS!"

Inavy smiled proudly.

— "You're learning well."

[Elsewhere – Locker Room]

Kane Jayson sat on a bench, staring at his backup weapon — a sleek double-blade.

— "Does he really have Aura...? That damn nerd..."

He closed his eyes.

— "Doesn't matter. I'll expose him today. Time to play my trump card."

[Transition – Arena Stands]

Lorien watched the screens showing the best moments of Ryan and Kane during the Draft.

Darius whistled:

— "I already know who I'm picking this Draft…" — he murmured, smirking at Ryan with curiosity.

Kelvin, standing beside Inavy, crossed his arms.

— "Where were you?"

Inavy replied, eyes fixed on the center of the arena:

— "Went to support that kid. Ryan… he's special."

Kelvin frowned.

— "I noticed something. His aura… it's different from ours. But… why do they still call him 'Aura-less'?"

Inavy looked at him, serious.

— "Because he has Reversum."

Kelvin's eyes widened slightly.

— "Reversum?"

Inavy, lowering his voice:

— *"Reversum is something only carriers of Chaos, Light, or Shadow can sense. It's beyond human perception. It is the Final Reflector — a living paradox. It nullifies all it touches. Turns destruction into hope. Reflects intentions with their opposite.

He doesn't fight with power…He fights with meaning.

He resets."

Kelvin nodded slowly, stunned.

— "That kid… could be key against Kairon..."

Inavy's gaze darkened.

— "Yes… and he may pay a high price for it."

[Arena Corridor]

Annie ran up to Ryan just before he entered the stage.

— "Yan!"

He turned, surprised.

She hugged him tightly.

— "Go out there… and win."

— "I will," he replied with a firm smile.

They looked at each other warmly. She let go of his hand.

[CENTER STAGE – SPOTLIGHT ON PRESENTER]

— "AND NOW..."— "HE'S KNOWN AS THE 'AURA-LESS'..."— "THE UNLIKELY CONTENDER WHO FOUGHT AGAINST ALL ODDS TO STAND HERE TODAY..."— "A REMINDER THAT EVEN ZERO… CAN BE EVERYTHING..."— "ENTERING THE ARENA… RYAN VALEBOOOOOORNE!"

The crowd began to boo.

But Inavy stood up.

— "GO ON, KID!!!"

The crowd paused.A child clapped. Then another.A group started chanting his name.Boos turned into cheers. A collective roar.

Ryan entered, eyes resolute, steps heavy — like a warrior walking through the gates of fate.

His mother watched from the stands, crying silently.

— "Go, my son… fly."

[The announcer shouted again.]

— "AND HE COMES WITH LEGACY! THE PUREBLOOD PRODIGY!"— "FROM ONE OF THE THREE GREAT HERO FAMILIES!"— "SON OF BILLIONAIRE TRENT JAYSON!"— "HE IS… THE UNTOUCHABLE… KAAAAAANE JAYSOOOOON!"

The roar was nearly deafening.

Kane entered, eyes cold. No smile. Just war.

[Center of the Arena]

Ryan and Kane faced off.

One with "nothing"…Against the heir to everything.

Light. Tension. Absolute silence.

A duel of legacies was about to begin.
