Chapter 2: Danzo Shimura
Chapter 2: Danzo Shimura
The Sharingan, a powerful cheat in the world of Naruto, can only be obtained from the Uchiha clan.
Kenichi might never have encountered it in his lifetime, but fortunately, his teacher was Orochimaru, and with Danzo, a man call the darkness of the ninja world, Kenichi still managed to obtain a Sharingan during the Third Great Ninja War.
What about the Uchiha clan's opinion? Don't worry, this eye was taken from an Uchiha ninja who had 'disappeared.'
Of course, this Sharingan was only a single tomoe and didn't have much research value. Moreover, Orochimaru had already completed his research on it before handing it over to Kenichi, but it was enough.
"Sharingan? The Uchiha clan's bloodline, from a biological standpoint, should be considered a genetic trait, or rather, a kekkei genkai is a mutation preserved in the genes," Kenichi mused as he looked at the Sharingan in his hand, a playful smile on his face.
To Kenichi, any kekkei genkai or these eyes represented genetic differences that could be inherited.
Perhaps these individuals had a genetic mutation that made them different from normal people, which then led to their abilities. Of course, chakra also played a key role in this.
The world of Naruto is often referred to as a world of eyes because the dōjutsu here are incredibly powerful. Even a tailed beast as strong as the Nine-Tails has no resistance against the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Not to mention the even more powerful Rinnegan, and even the Byakugan, which was mocked and underestimated by many in the early stages, is actually a significant force in Konoha.
At the very least, an ordinary genin like Kenichi would never be able to obtain these eyes in his lifetime.
Currently, in Konoha, there are only two major clans: the Hyuga clan with the Byakugan and the Uchiha clan with the Sharingan. However, Kenichi could see that the Uchiha clan was being marginalized by the higher-ups of Konoha.
The Hyuga clan, on the other hand, was very honest. Although the Byakugan was considered unremarkable and useless by many in his previous life, it was actually very powerful.
Kenichi was interested in researching the difference between the genes of the Uchiha clan and those of others. If he could figure it out, he might be able to unlock the secrets of the Sharingan.
Unfortunately, the technology tree of this world had issues.
With the current level of technology in this world, it was unlikely to delve into genes and DNA. Scientific progress and development never happen overnight but are the result of long-term accumulation.
For example, although the prototype of a microscope had appeared in Orochimaru's base, it was still quite different from the microscopes Kenichi knew.
Konoha had televisions, air conditioners, and refrigerators, but to Kenichi, this world still seemed backward. The advent of chakra brought some convenience to ninjas but also hindered the development of science.
"Kenichi, pack up and come with me. We can start the first step of our live experiment," Orochimaru said, appearing behind Kenichi as he pondered the technological level of this world.
He glanced at the Sharingan in Kenichi's hand but didn't show much interest.
A single tomoe Sharingan, and one that he had already researched and discarded, was not of much concern to Orochimaru, although he was curious to see if his disciple could discover something from it.
Kenichi was satisfied with his teacher. Orochimaru was an interesting and very dangerous person, but he was also good to his subordinates and disciples.
This was probably why so many people were willing to dedicate everything to Orochimaru, with Kimimaro even regretting not being able to become Orochimaru's vessel.
Thinking of Kimimaro, Kenichi glanced at Orochimaru, wondering when his teacher had brought Kimimaro back. If it was before Orochimaru's defection, that would be great, as he could also study the Shikotsumyaku kekkei genkai.
"Alright, Teacher," Kenichi said, placing the Sharingan into a special container to prevent damage, so he could attempt to analyze it later.
Initially, Kenichi had also considered the Byakugan, but it was difficult to obtain, and the Hyuga clan's Cage Bird Seal was cruel. Besides, with the Sharingan, he didn't need to think about the Byakugan anymore.
Following Orochimaru, Kenichi arrived at a forest on the outskirts of Konoha. It seemed deserted, but in reality, one or two ANBU members were stationed there.
Danzo claimed it was for the safety of the laboratory, but both Kenichi and Orochimaru knew it was surveillance.
However, Orochimaru didn't care. The ANBU members were competent, but they were no match for him, one of the Sannin.
Entering the experimental base, Kenichi immediately saw Danzo Shimura, the old man who refused to die.
He still looked relatively normal, but the years had left their marks on his face. Kenichi bowed his head.
Facing an opponent he couldn't yet match, a temporary show of humility was just to buy time to gain enough power.
He didn't want to attract Danzo's attention, as that would be troublesome. This shadow of the ninja world was very dangerous.
"Orochimaru, we can start our plan. These are some orphans captured by the Root in the Land of Rain after the war," Danzo glanced at Kenichi.
However, his focus was on Orochimaru. Kenichi was just a minor character.
"That's great," Orochimaru said, his joy evident. Kenichi looked at the trembling orphans who were locked up and sighed inwardly.
There wasn't much he could do, except to try to ensure the experiment succeeded as soon as possible.
"Let's go, Kenichi. Our experiment is about to begin. Remember to keep good records," Orochimaru said. Experiment records were something Kenichi had proposed and perfected, which Orochimaru liked after seeing them once.
Since then, he had Kenichi in charge of this task for every experiment.
"Alright, Teacher," Kenichi replied, his expression calm and indifferent, just like Orochimaru's.
Danzo followed Orochimaru with a few Root members, glancing at Kenichi before disregarding the talentless ninja.
