League Of Legends/Arcane: Earthbound

Chapter 16: Chapter 15 Magic

The next morning, Adam woke to the gentle sound of birdsong filtering through the open windows. The air smelled fresh, carrying the faint, earthy scent of dew and blooming flowers. For the first time in what felt like forever, he felt truly rested. His body still ached from the intense training the day before, but it was a satisfying kind of pain—the kind that came with progress.

He stretched, rolling his shoulders and flexing his fingers. "Alright, another day, another step closer to getting home,"he muttered to himself, pushing the covers aside.

As he stepped outside, he noticed Morgana seated in the heart of the sanctuary, surrounded by a radiant glow. Her hands rested gently on her knees, and her face was serene as she meditated. The garden seemed to respond to her presence, the flowers swaying slightly as though drawn to her energy.

For a moment, Adam hesitated. "I don't want to disturb her, but..." He glanced at the supplies he'd gathered the previous day. The idea of making breakfast again—something from home, something that might remind her of simpler, happier times—stuck in his mind.

---

In no time, Adam was busy preparing breakfast. Using the eggs, milk, and meat he had collected, he worked to make a hearty meal. His hands moved with practiced ease, flipping pancakes over the crackling fire. The smell of sizzling sausages and sweet batter filled the air, drawing a few curious animals closer.

As the first plate of food was finished, Adam caught Morgana standing at the edge of the garden, her gaze fixed on him.

"You're up early," she said, a trace of amusement in her voice.

Adam grinned and held up the plate. "I thought I'd return the favor after yesterday. Training me all day couldn't have been easy on you."

She stepped forward, her eyes narrowing slightly as she inspected the food. "What is this?"

"Breakfast. Earth style," Adam replied, placing the plate down on a nearby stone table. He gestured for her to sit. "Try it. I promise it won't poison you."

Morgana raised an eyebrow, but she sat down and took a tentative bite of the eggs. Her expression shifted almost immediately—eyes widening in surprise before softening with something close to delight.

"This is... wonderful," she admitted, her voice quieter than usual.

Adam laughed, sitting down across from her. "It's nothing fancy. Just something my mom used to make back home."

She paused, her fork hovering over the plate. "Your mother... you haven't spoken much of her. What was she like?"

Adam's smile faltered slightly. He leaned back, staring up at the sky. "She was... incredible. Kind, tough when she needed to be. She used to work two jobs just to keep us afloat. My older brother and I always tried to help out, but she'd just smile and tell us to focus on school or training. 'Your dreams matter too,' she'd say."

Morgana listened intently, her expression softening. "She sounds like a remarkable woman."

"She was,"** Adam said, his voice tinged with both pride and sadness. "I just hope she knows I'm okay, wherever she is."

There was a silence between them, filled only by the gentle rustling of leaves. Then Morgana spoke, her tone thoughtful.

"You remind me of my sister," she said.

Adam blinked, surprised."Your sister?"

Morgana nodded, her gaze distant. "Kayle. She and I were once inseparable, bound by a shared purpose. But... over time, our paths diverged. She saw the world in absolutes—good and evil, light and darkness. I... I saw the shades of gray, the complexities of life. It drove a wedge between us, one that I fear can never be mended."

Adam leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. "Do you miss her?"

Morgana hesitated, then nodded. "Every day. Despite our differences, she was my sister. I loved her, and part of me still does. But love doesn't always mend wounds."

Adam frowned, thinking of his own brother. "I get that. My brother and I fought all the time growing up. But no matter what, we always had each other's backs when it counted."He paused, his voice growing quieter. **"I'd give anything to see him again."

Morgana studied him for a long moment, her glowing purple eyes unreadable. Finally, she said, "Perhaps that's what drives you—the hope of reuniting with those you love. It's a powerful thing, hope. It can carry you through even the darkest of times."

Adam nodded, his resolve hardening."It's all I've got."

---

After breakfast, Morgana led Adam deeper into the sanctuary. They entered a clearing surrounded by ancient stone pillars, each etched with glowing runes.

"What is this place?" Adam asked, looking around in awe.

"An old training ground,"Morgana explained. "My sister and I used to spar here when we were young. It seems fitting to pass on some of that knowledge to you."

For the rest of the day, Morgana pushed Adam through rigorous training. She taught him to channel his instincts, using his fear and anger as tools rather than letting them control him. She also began to introduce him to the basics of magic—not casting spells, but understanding the flow of energy around him.

"Magic is not just power,"she explained, guiding his hands over a glowing rune. "It is connection. To the world, to others, and to yourself. Learn to feel it, and you will find strength in even the most dire of circumstances."

Adam struggled at first, the concepts foreign to him. But with Morgana's patient guidance, he began to grasp the basics. By the time the sun began to set, he could create a faint shimmer of energy around his hands—a small but significant step forward.

---

That evening, as they sat by the fire, Adam turned to Morgana.

"Thank you,"** he said earnestly. "For everything. I don't know what I'd do without your help."

Morgana smiled faintly, her expression soft. "You have potential, Adam. Don't waste it."

He nodded, his heart heavy but hopeful. For the first time since arriving in this strange world, he felt like he was no longer alone. And with Morgana's help, he was beginning to believe that finding his way home might actually be possible.
