Last lord of the 3rd eye

Chapter 15: Earlier with rivaan and grandpa(14.5)

[Rivaan Confronts His Grandfather]

Rivaan followed the butler through the mansion, his heart pounding. He had spent years avoiding confrontations with his family, particularly his grandfather, who was known for his commanding presence. The butler led him into a spacious study, where Rivaan's grandfather, Mr. Rajiv Desai, sat behind a massive mahogany desk. His piercing gaze was locked on Rivaan the moment he entered.

Rajiv: "So, you've finally decided to show up."

Rivaan clenched his fists but kept his composure.

Rivaan: "I didn't come for pleasantries, Granpa. Why did you send Aiyana to find me? What's this nonsense about engagement?"

Rajiv leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable.

Rajiv:"Nonsense? Rivaan, you're my grandson, the heir to everything I've built. Do you think you can ignore your responsibilities forever? The engagement is for your future—for the family's future."

Rivaan (sharply): "You can't just decide my life for me! I have my own plans, my own path. This isn't the 19th century."

Rajiv's eyes narrowed.

Rajiv: "You think I don't know about your so-called 'path'? Dropping out of school, running around with that boy—Jilpa, isn't it? Wasting your potential on whatever it is you're doing. This isn't what your parents wanted for you."

The mention of his parents hit Rivaan like a punch to the gut.

Rivaan (quietly): "Don't. Don't bring them into this."

Rajiv softened slightly, but his tone remained firm.

Rajiv: "Rivaan, I'm not your enemy. Everything I do is to secure your future. You have responsibilities, whether you like it or not. And this engagement is part of that. Aiyana is a good match for you—smart, capable, and she understands our family."

Rivaan (raising his voice): "I don't care! Alright I barely even know that girl I only saw her 4 times in my entire life I forgot she even existed until she came to my home."

The room fell silent, the tension thick. After a long pause, Rajiv sighed.

Rajiv:"Very well. If you want to live your life on your own terms, prove to me that you can handle it. But understand this—running away won't make the Desai name disappear. You'll always carry it, whether you like it or not."

Rivaan stared at his grandfather, his chest heaving. He turned and walked out without another word, slamming the door behind him.

[Aiyana's Perspective]

Outside the study, Aiyana stood in the hallway, having overheard most of the conversation. She watched as Rivaan stormed past her, his face a mixture of anger and hurt.

Aiyana (softly): "Rivaan..."

He didn't stop or acknowledge her, disappearing down the corridor. She sighed, her own feelings conflicted.

Aiyana (to herself): "This is going to be harder than I thought."
