Land Beyond The Hurricane: Rise Of The God Of Death

Chapter 7: Chapter 5: The gifts from Death

By Yama-2, The God of Death

Farsi sat in a bathtub, relishing the cold water enveloping his body. After enduring the scorching flames of a blazing pyre for over ten minutes, the coolness was nothing short of a luxury.

Death had informed him that upon his arrival in this world, he would be assigned a helper—an entity that would guide him through the intricacies of his conquest. As he contemplated this, a voice resonated in his mind.

"Hello, General...?" The voice trailed off, awaiting clarification of his surname.

Initially startled, Farsi quickly composed himself. He understood that this was the assistance Death had mentioned. In a calm tone, he responded, "General Darklord. Call me General Darklord."

"General Darklord, I am your inner self, your helper, and your humble servant. You may mold me into a form you prefer, or you can leave me as I am—invisible.

"I was created to ensure your progress is smooth and efficient. I am a fragment of Master Death's soul. As people perish by your hands or your will, I will collect their souls and transform them into power and wealth. In doing so, we shall restore our master to the luxury and status he once held among the gods. As for you, those souls will be converted into death points."

The voice continued:

"The number of death points you gain is determined by three factors:

1. The status or position of the person killed

2. The rank of the individual in your army who orchestrates the kill

3. The manner in which the person is slain

"Which of these clauses would you like me to explain first?"

"The first," Farsi replied, intrigued.

"1) The status or position of a person killed: This clause is subdivided into three categories:

A) Mages

B) Male soldiers

C) Nobles and Royalties

"Death points gained from slaying mages depend on their rank within the Council of Sisters and their proficiency in magic.

"For male soldiers, points are determined by their rank and the strength of the army they serve. A captain in a well-equipped, elite force will yield more death points than a general from a weak, poorly organized army.

"For Nobles and Royalties, the death points are based on the wealth and influence of their kingdom or house. The richer the target, the greater the reward.

"Furthermore, if a person dies indirectly by your command, you will be rewarded with two death points. If they are killed by your soldiers or anyone under your command, you will receive three death points. Lastly, if you personally take a life, you will be awarded four death points."

The system continued:

"2) The status of a person in your army who orchestrates the kill: Death points gained from a soldier's kill depend on their rank. A common foot soldier's kill will yield fewer points than a cavalry soldier's. A captain's kill will be worth more than a standard soldier's, but the highest rewards come from deaths caused directly by you.

"3) The manner in which a person is killed: This clause applies only to you for now. Your creativity in executing a kill can increase or multiply death points. Simultaneous killings amplify points based on the number of victims. For instance, if you were to burn multiple enemies at once, the death points gained would be multiplied accordingly."

The voice continued, introducing the ranks of progression:

"Your status will advance through the following stages:

1. Commander

2. King Commander

3. Imperial Commander

4. King, Sultan, or Conqueror

"The first rank, 'Commander,' signifies the stage where your army consists of both cavalry and foot soldiers.

"The second rank, 'King Commander,' is achieved when your army possesses siege weaponry and includes at least two commanders, five generals, and a substantial force.

"The third rank, 'Imperial Commander,' is attained when your army expands to include at least two King Commanders, five Commanders, and ten generals.

"The final rank, 'King, Sultan, or Conqueror,' is achieved upon conquering all kingdoms and destroying the Council of Sisters. At this stage, you may choose to rule as a king, a sultan, or a supreme conqueror.

"Your army will automatically evolve as you progress through these ranks. The stronger your forces become, the more powerful you will grow."

Farsi remained composed, listening intently. "So, what can I call you?" he asked.

"That decision lies with the Messenger of Death," the system replied meekly.

"Are there any auxiliaries?" Farsi inquired greedily.

"Forgive my impoliteness, Master. The auxiliaries are as follows:

1. Dark Swordsmen (31x)

2. Devilish Archers (31x)

3. Commander Impious Bodyguards (12x)

4. The Ultimate Blade of Death

5. A General-Class Hoodie

Farsi was initially unimpressed by the small number of soldiers. However, after Skull—the name he had bestowed upon the system—explained their prowess, excitement swelled within him.

The Dark Swordsmen were formidable foot soldiers clad in black, their identities obscured. They wielded short, heavy sabers with thick bases, capable of cutting through armor with a single strike. Shields were worthless against their might.

The Devilish Archers were legendary marksmen known as the "Archers of Death." Their arrows never missed. Agile and precise, they could shoot while running, ensuring deadly accuracy in battle.

The Commander Impious Bodyguards were the ultimate assassins, cloaked in shadow and invisible to all but their leader. They wielded spectral scythes, capable of severing a soul from its body without leaving a mark.

The Ultimate Blade of Death was a long black sword with a lethal touch. A single scratch could send even a veteran soldier to his grave. It absorbed the talents of those it killed, growing stronger with each life it claimed.

Lastly, the General-Class Hoodie was a garment woven from enchanted velvet. It granted protection against arrows and blades wielded by opponents ranked below a general.

Skull's voice echoed once more:

"Currently, the Messenger is a General. To ascend to the rank of Commander, you must:

1. Establish a fortress of your own

2. Assemble an army comprising both cavalry and footmen

3. Recruit at least two generals under your command

"To accomplish all three at once, capture Fort Mandadah—the stronghold that led to your predecessor's demise."

The voice grew ominous. "The world awaits you, Messenger of Death!"
