Lady billionaire's husband

Chapter 36: I love her.

Linda just stared blankly at Jeremy. As much as she had a lot to say, she couldn't quite articulate it into words, her world was shattered. She considered confessing there and then but the possibility of being rejected served as a hard pill to swallow. For the first time, she found herself being afraid of a 'no'. She smiled again, despite tears welling up, she had to be strong, "I am really fine. I promise..."

"N-"

Seeing how Linda was struggling, Jackson intervened, his heart couldn't take it anymore, "Well, Mr. Tang, I hate to disturb but little Ms. has a guest waiting for her at home."

Jeremy ignored him and his eyes remained focused on the woman whose eyes seemed to portray nothing but pain rather than anger, confusing him even further.

He sighed deeply seeing that he would not get the reply he needed," Okay Mr. Jackson. Linda please pass by tomorrow, I would like to make it up to you."

Linda sniffled, "I am sorry, but I don't think your guest will appreciate-"

The rest of her sentence was suddenly swallowed by the sets of lips that gently covered her mouth. She tried to resist but soon she gave in to him and their lips began to dance together. He pulled back and leaned his forehead to hers," If anyone should not feel pleased about anyone's presence is not you. You are coming to enjoy breakfast with your fiancé tomorrow and that is final.", Linda melted and nodded gently. He ran his hands through her tear tracks, "I am sorry for ruining your face with these tears, you shouldn't cry like this because of me."

Jeremy may have not been sure about a lot things but at that moment, he hated himself for being the reason for her tears. He never wanted her to cry, not like that, he never meant for it, it also occurred to him that he loved her. His heart wouldn't break the way it did if he didn't, hearing her mention another woman's name wouldn't have angered him, letting her go in such a state wouldn't be so hard. If anything, he wanted to hold her for as long as he could, assuring her that no other woman meant as much as she did. He wanted to cuddle her until she stopped crying and she was okay. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that she had a guest waiting for her, he was going to be the person to tuck her in when she goes to sleep.

He planted a warm kiss on her forehead, "Tomorrow okay, and try to get some sleep". He wanted to declare his love there and then, but he couldn't. It was not the right time.

He sadly turned to Jackson, "I apologize for making her cry like this."

Jackson just nodded, at that moment he saw something in Jeremy's eyes, he genuinely cared for his little Ms. 'Why can't things just be simple', Jackson sighed in frustration.

Jeremy reluctantly got out of the car and flushed a smile to Linda but it was not reciprocated breaking his heart. As soon as the car disappeared, he began flaring with anger again, but this time it was more than just anger, he was furious and determined to make Maggie pay. He rushed upstairs to deal with the demon that ruined his day and made his woman cry.

"You bitch!", he growled as the door swung open

"What? Is Ms. Little Princess gone??", Maggie said casually unaware of the wrath that was about to fall on her.

Jeremy went straight for her suitcases and angrily threw them out hitting the wall and breaking the zipper on one of them, and her clothes flew out and covered the whole corridor,

"Hey! What the hell???", she jumped from her couch to his face but he held her cheeks, eyes burning with anger and covered in a murderous aura, it was like his body was possessed by a monster,

"Listen here!", he wasn't yelling but his voice sent shivers to Maggie, she was trembling with fear. She knew he could become angry but she'd never seen him like this before, he looked like he was ready to reap her into shreds. She tried to struggle out of his grip but it was futile, in fact, the more she struggled, the deeper he dug his nails into her flesh.

He tilted her face to his burning eyes, "I want you to disappear from my sight, never show up in front of me again. And stay away from my fiancé. Go back to the hole you crawled up from. Do you understand??",

Maggie nodded in fear but that wasn't enough, he needed to hear her speak, "I can't hear you?"

" y-y-yes, I understand"

"Good!", he said as he tossed her outside landing her on her bum, and was shortly followed by a loud bang sound made by the slammed door and she flinched scared for her life.

She looked at the bruise on her wrist and held her painful jaw, 'Bustard! He's going to pay! ", she vowed as she brushed her painful jaw eyes welling up.

As soon as the door closed, Jeremy slowly slid down it in agony until he found the floor to sit on, he couldn't erase Linda's sad and teary face. His thoughts were disturbed by a text, he reached for his phone and was met by John's name pop-up on the screen asking about the plan. His heart instantly shattered, he never hated himself like he did at that moment. He was torn between restoring his family's worth, his freedom and protecting Linda. He knows that if he doesn't deliver as he promised, his uncle will do worse than he intended to, not just to him, but to Linda as well and what about his poor aunt? He lay his head on his arms for now and allowed the pain in his heart to engulf him, that's all he could do as punishment for his actions, and he will think of another plan to save the people he loved tomorrow.
