Kushina Uzumaki The Sage Of The Yuri Path

Chapter 46: Sole Ice Domain & Hiashi’s Suffering

The Hyūga Clan Compound was supposed to be an impenetrable fortress, an estate lined with the most disciplined guards, elite sensory techniques, and the all-seeing Byakugan. Yet, every single night, Hinata Hyūga vanished without a trace—and it was driving Hiashi completely insane.

Sitting at the head of the clan meeting hall, the Hyūga patriarch glared at the gathered Elders, his fingers tightening around the edge of the table. Before him stood a group of visibly nervous guards, all high-ranking clan members, yet all completely incapable of stopping a four-year-old girl from sneaking out.

"Explain." Hiashi's voice was quiet. Too quiet.

The eldest guard took a hesitant step forward. "L-Lord Hiashi, Lady Hinata has not left the compound."

Hiashi's left eyebrow twitched.

"Then where is she?"

The guards visibly flinched under his stare.

"She is… um… she is in her room."

"Ah. Is she now?" Hiashi's tone was deceptively calm.

With slow, deliberate movements, Hiashi stood from his seat and made his way toward Hinata's room, the Elders and guards following behind in tense silence. When they reached the door, Hiashi motioned for a guard to open it.

Inside, Hinata lay peacefully in bed, her soft breathing steady, her form unmoving beneath the blankets.

A moment of silence passed.

One of the guards wiped his forehead in relief. "See, Lord Hiashi? She is—"

PLOP.

The figure in the bed burst into water, the blanket collapsing into an empty, wet mess.

The room was deathly silent.

Hiashi's vein bulged.

One of the younger guards whispered in horror. "It was… a Water Clone…?"

Hiashi's aura darkened, his clenched fists shaking with repressed rage.

Then, Hanabi Hyūga, only two years old, peeked into the room, blinking her large white eyes in curiosity. She looked up at her father.

"Papa," she said sweetly, "if Sister is so weak, why is she the only one who can escape?"

The room was so silent that a grain of rice could have been heard hitting the floor.

One of the Elders coughed awkwardly, refusing to meet Hiashi's eyes.

"...That is not the point," Hiashi growled, rubbing his temple. "I will get to the bottom of this."

Miles away from the Hyūga compound, in the quiet training grounds outside Konoha, Hinata stood in the snow-covered clearing, facing Raven Kamizuki.

"Again," Raven commanded, her arms crossed as she watched her young student struggle.

Hinata took a slow breath, focusing. Beneath her feet, the ground cracked and frosted over, forming a thin layer of ice that spread outward. The temperature in the air dropped significantly, and soon, a small radius around her became a field of frost.

But it wasn't enough.

Raven observed with mild interest, her violet Rinnegan eyes studying every movement. "You're thinking too small, Hinata. Ice is not just about freezing what is already there—it's about control."

Hinata nodded firmly. This training was different from anything the Hyūga Clan had ever taught her. Unlike the rigid structure of Gentle Fist, this new technique required her willpower, her soul, to bend the world to her command.

She closed her eyes.

"My domain... my space... my ice."

The temperature plummeted.

A visible aura of frost spread outward, expanding from Hinata's small form in a perfect sphere of control. The ground within it crystallized, thin ice spires forming in random spots like jagged teeth.

Raven smirked. "Good. Now, let's see how well you can defend yourself."

She snapped her fingers—and suddenly, Yuumi pounced.

The nine-tailed fox shot forward, her speed inhuman, a blur of white fur and silver flames.

Hinata reacted instinctively. She lifted her palm—and a wall of ice erupted from the ground, shielding her just in time.

Yuumi skidded to a stop, blinking in mild amusement. "Ooh, nice! She's already using the Sole Ice Domain to create instant defenses."

Raven tilted her head slightly, studying the expanding radius of ice. "Not bad, little princess. But what about offense?"

Hinata hesitated for only a second.

Then, she moved.

Without a single hand seal, ice spears materialized around her—sharp, deadly, and perfectly controlled. With a flick of her wrist, they launched toward Raven.

Raven tilted her head slightly, watching the attack approach.

Then, she smirked.

She raised her hand, and with a slight pulse of chakra, the spears halted midair, frozen in place by an unseen force.

Hinata's Byakugan widened in shock.

"Too slow," Raven said smoothly.

She flicked her fingers—and the spears shattered.

Hinata's breath hitched, but she stood her ground. Her chakra flared, and the radius of her Sole Ice Domain expanded slightly.

Raven observed for a moment before nodding in approval. "Not bad. The ice responds to your will now. But you're still thinking like a Hyūga. You focus too much on counters and reactions. A domain isn't about waiting—it's about absolute control."

Hinata frowned, but listened carefully.

"Absolute control…"

The ice spread further.

Yuumi, watching from the sidelines, grinned. "I gotta say, this is fun to watch. Meanwhile, back at the Hyūga compound, I bet Hiashi is losing his mind."

"BARRIERS! I WANT BARRIERS AROUND HER ROOM!"

Hiashi was officially losing it.

The Elders, now visibly uncomfortable, whispered among themselves.

"Maybe… Lord Hiashi is becoming paranoid?"

"It's understandable. He keeps losing track of his own daughter."

"But it's a four-year-old child. How is this happening?!"

Meanwhile, Hanabi sat quietly, watching the drama unfold.

She turned to a nearby guard. "I bet five ryo Sister will escape again tonight."

The guard, looking panicked, whispered back. "I bet ten ryo."

Hiashi turned toward them, his Byakugan flaring. "WHAT ARE YOU TWO BETTING ON?!"

The guard immediately fled.

Hanabi shrugged innocently. "Nothing, Father."

Despite the sealing barriers, additional guards, and Hiashi himself standing outside Hinata's door…

The next morning, Hinata was gone.

Hiashi stormed into her room, ripping off the blankets—only to find another Water Clone melting into the sheets.

A small handwritten note sat on the pillow.

Try harder next time, Father.

Hiashi froze.

The Elders behind him gasped.

Hanabi, watching from the doorway, simply took out her tiny purse and handed the guard ten ryo.

Hiashi's hands shook. His eyes twitched. His soul left his body.

And in the distance, at The Crusty Kunai, Yuumi rolled on the floor, howling with laughter.

"I CAN'T BREATHE! HIASHI IS LOSING TO A TODDLER!"

Raven smirked, taking a bite of her pizza. "He's too rigid. That's why she keeps outsmarting him."

Hinata, standing beside them, bowed slightly. "Thank you for today's training, Sensei."

Raven nodded. "Tomorrow, we push the Sole Ice Domain even further."

Hinata smiled.

Hiashi, meanwhile, was currently reconsidering all of his life choices.
