These were the average stats of a mutated lizard after I used [Scan] on all of them. With stats like these, I could confidently take on two or even three of them at once without any problem.

I jumped in and used [Spider Silk] to pull one of the mutated lizards closer, intending to slash it, but another one immediately cut in and bit through my silk. At the same time, two others appeared behind me with razor-sharp fangs.

I calmly used [Flash] to move behind another one and stabbed it hard in the back, causing blood to gush out. Right away, I followed up with [Venomous Fangs] to inject a dose of poison, then quickly switched positions.

The lizard I had just attacked was now poisoned, so all I had to do was wait for it to die.

I turned to a different one, trying to repeat the trick, but two others came to help, forcing me to [Flash] away.

They were reacting faster now.

Just as I escaped, three mutated lizards charged at me—but I had already anticipated them.

I immediately activated [Ravenous Devour], and because they were charging too fast to stop, all three ran straight into it.

I quickly fired off [Spider Silk] to bind one, used [Paralyzing Evil Eye] to control another, and then used [Flash] to slash the last one straight in the eye.

Blinded, it could only attack blindly. But that didn't matter—it was finished.

I'd been using [Prediction] constantly, so I managed to dodge several times just in time. But when multiple lizards attacked at once, I still got hit.

Plus, the baby lizards would jump in whenever they got the chance. They couldn't deal any real damage, but they kept distracting me.

As a result, I got bitten. Fortunately, my body was sturdy enough that no limbs were lost. I took that opportunity to stab my [Blade Leg] straight into the eye of the one that bit me.

It let go in pain. I wanted to follow up with another strike, but two more mutated lizards jumped in to protect it, and several baby lizards charged in, biting recklessly.

Suddenly, I felt intense heat—and when I turned around, a stream of lava was flying straight at me.

Oh no!

I quickly dodged to the side, but part of my body still got hit.

Hot! Too hot!

Even though my body had evolved, I still couldn't fully withstand lava. This was my first major wound.

I quickly scraped the lava off and saw that the area was completely charred. In the worst spot, my insides were visible.

I needed to be more careful.

Still, I wasn't too worried—if I leveled up, I'd recover completely.

So instead of fighting more, I ran around killing dozens of baby lizards until I leveled up.

There it is.

With my body fully restored again, I ignored the babies and charged toward the mutated lizards to resume the fight.

The three lizards that had been hit by [Ravenous Devour] earlier were clearly weaker now, and the one I had poisoned earlier was barely hanging on.

I decided to finish it off first.

I lunged forward, skillfully dodging another lizard's attacks as I rushed straight toward the poisoned one.

The others immediately moved in to support, but thanks to my repeated [Flash] and the closing distance, they couldn't stop me.

I closed in, and with a beautiful slash, I ended its life.

Only four left!

I stared at the remaining four with a hungry look that made them instinctively back away. But I wasn't going to let up.

I continuously deployed [Spider Silk] traps and [Paralyzing Evil Eye] to block their escape and lure them into the area I'd already prepared.

Hahaha.

This stage is mine.

Let's put on a great show.

"She's having another episode…" Seina muttered with a sigh.

"But isn't it… kinda cool…" Suzu said, clearly fascinated.

"Haizz…"

I didn't really catch what they were saying. I was too focused on the fight.

After another dozen rounds, I had taken down one more mutated lizard and nearly a hundred baby lizards.

The remaining three were already in shambles, so it wouldn't take long to finish them.

With the level-ups, all my wounds and stats were back to full, and these guys didn't stand a chance anymore.

I launched into another wave of attacks—fiercer than ever before.

One of them was poisoned and under constant assault, and finally couldn't take it anymore and collapsed, dead.

Suddenly, another one shot lava at me. But there's no way I'd fall for the same trick twice.

I was about to dodge, but then a different idea came to mind.

I pulled another mutated lizard over to use as a shield, hoping it would die from the blast. But I forgot—these things live in lava all year round. Of course they aren't afraid of it.

I guess I'd been fighting so hard that I got stupid for a second.

Still, it wasn't pointless. The lizard served as a shield, and when it was done, I gave it a few stabs and sent it off.

Two left!

One of them was already so terrified it tried to flee, but there was no way it could outrun me. It didn't even watch its back. I struck straight at its neck.

A spray of blood splattered across me, but I found the sensation oddly pleasant. I even tasted its blood out of curiosity… and honestly, it wasn't bad.

"Hey! Don't drink that!" Seina shouted angrily.

Sorry, I was just a little curious…

"Even if you're curious, don't drink it! Remember—you're a human being. Even if you look like a spider right now, don't forget who you are!"

Yeah, yeah, I know.

It tasted good, but if Seina doesn't like it, I'll stop.

Then I quickly finished off the lizard that had tried to run.

After a few desperate exchanges, it too fell to my sharp [Blade Leg].

Man, it's been so long since I enjoyed a hunt like this.
