Konoha's shadow monarch Naruto x solo leveling

Kai sat before Hiruzen Sarutobi in his office, the elder hokagé had been showing him the hospitality of a very generous man.

" Now then Kai, Would you care to explain to me what happened last week during the kidnapping of Hidzumè and Hinata Hyuga?" Asked Hiruzen.

" It wasn't me," Kai said.

Hiruzen smiled, " Kai you and I both know very well that only two people in this village practice the arts of Hiten mitsurugi-ryu and Batto-jutsu, and those two are you, and your father, now please tell me the truth I'm not angry," he said.

I sighed, " Fine, yes it was me, but I only did it because I didn't want them to hurt my fellow School mates," Kai replied.

" Very well then, Kai As a reward for your bravery I would like to Give you a certain gift," he said handing Kai a sword that had his family's seal on it.

" This was your grandfather's sword, he was my closest teammate and the only one who could rival Myself and Danzo in power, the weapons name is Gerbera Straight," said Hiruzen.

The sword had a golden dragon Pommel with a dragon claw shaped hand guard and a white sheath decorated with red details and a Gilded platting around the red falcon beak shaped point.

" The swords blade is made of pure chakra metal, a rare form of chakra metal that has been tempered without corruption, it's one of the only ones like it in the whole world," the elder Sarutobi said with a smile.



"I suppose it would look good in the hands of the heir to the Hitokiri Battosai's name," said Kai.

" That title holds the weight of many lives taken by that sword," said Hiruzen.

" I know, hence the reason it means Sword-drawing Manslayer," said Kai, " but someone has to be able to do it, otherwise why would you entrust me with such a guilty blade," he replied.

" Truthfully I wish you wouldn't have to kill, however, It is in your blood, your family have been the Hokage's Assassin since the days of the warring states era," Sarutobi said with a solemn expression,

" By the way, you have grown closer to Naruto over the past few days have you not," Hiruzen replied.

" Hai, Hokagè-sama, Naruto and I are like brothers we have both trained under the same master, and we even have the same interest," said Kai.

" This is the question I want to ask, where did you and Naruto come up with the idea for that outrageous taunt you did towards Sakura and Ino," he asked.

" There used to be this wrestling faction called D-Generation X, and that was one of their signature Taunts," said Kai.

" I see, and you seemed it Worthy to taunt them with why?" Hiruzen asked.

" Because of how they were openly discriminating against us to try and earn a boys favor also because they were bad mouthing Naruto because they're a bunch of punk school girls who fancy themselves as ninja," said Kai, " although Ino does technically come from a ninja clan, she's more of a girly girl than a ninja," he corrected himself.

" I see, so it was just the two of you getting payback for those two bullying you," Hiruzen deduced.

" Exactly," said Kai affirming Hiruzen's Answer.

After I got home my system chimed In.

[ Host now has access to the Gates, the first Gate is in training ground 11,] the system replied.

" That's cool, Hey system Can I give you a name?" Asked Kai.

" Good then your new name is going to be Uzumé," I said.

[I accept the title of Uzumé, Now as Uzume I have the ability to reward you with one skill book,] said Uzumé.

The skill book was the skills of warriors of the past most of the skills I recognized as the artes used by Reed Hershal from Tales of Eternia, which was good because it gave me a wide range of attacks.

So far the only skill I had available was demon fang, which was basically a standard sword projectile, still better than nothing.

I decided to go into the dungeon and see if I could find an enemy who could be worthy of my Arise ability.

I entered the training ground in the middle of the knight with permission from the Hokage under the pretense of training, which wasn't necessarily a lie, either way I entered the gate which sent me to a dungeon, after traversing it for a few minutes I came across a pack of Wolf like creatures who were ganging up on a small kangaroo like creature that had on boxing gear despite doing its best to fend the creatures off the kangaroo was clearly outnumbered.

I decided to intervene, I took out the wolves with a single Lai-giri Cleaving the monsters heads off.

I turned to the Kangaroo and decided to heal him using a basic medical Ninjutsu I had learned in the academy last week.

The kangaroo licked my nose and led me to a large open field where two bigger kangaroos were.

I then heard them speaking strangely I understood them.

" This one saved me," said the small kangaroo.

" He did, we must thank him," said the pink kangaroo clearly the mother.

" Maybe we should give him our summoning contract," said a green kangaroo who supposedly was the Father.

The trio then had me sign their summoning contract.

A few hours into dungeon diving and slaying several monsters later I came upon a mysterious individual, a Large red samurai wielding a sword the monster was clearly of the undead, but his appearance looked familiar somehow.

" You who wield the sword of my clan, state your name and prepare to fight me to the death," said the samurai.

" My name is Kai Heishin, son of Iga Heishin and grandson of Koga Heishin, and I accept your challenge," I said.

" You claim to be of the Heishin Clan, then prove it with your sword," he said.

I attacked the samurai meeting his sword with my own, the swords clashed and the two blades left streaks of light behind them.

" Hiten-Mitsurugi Ryu: Ryūtsuisen!" Kai shouted delivering a flying two handed slash that cleaved through the enemy.

" Hiten-Mitsurugi: Gyaku-Ryūtsuisen!" He shouted countering kai's sword strike with an upwards version of the same move

Backflipping away Kai channeled lighting release into his sword as he performed a Step using Godspeed to deliver a powerful slash aimed at the Undead swordsman's liver but the swordsman parried it and countered with an upwards Hack at Kai's neck aiming to hew his head off.

Kai teleported away via the Body Flicker and landed on a pedestal.

" Kagé-Būnshin No Jutsu!" I shouted creating four Duplicates of myself.

" Kagé-Būnshin at that age," he said surprised.

Two clones came crossing their blades with his sword trapping them before a third crossed his sword over the man's blade and the forth locked behind the man's blade trapping it in a formation of the Daimonji kanji symbol.

" Now take this, Shin-Tsurugi-Ryu: Majin-Sen/ Divine sword style: Demonic Flash," Kai shouted launching an energy shockwave at the enemy from his blade as the shockwave was about to touch him Kai's clones burst and the blade slashed the enemy clean in half.

" That... wasn't...Hiten... Mitsurugi...Ryu," said The Undead Samurai.

" Listen here, I am the heir to the name Hitokiri Battosai, and remember this you may be one once trained in the style but I am it's current wielder," Kai Proclaimed.

" Bastard, I Invented that sword style and Was the first to obtain that name," said the Undead samurai, " ...you said your last name was Heishin right," he asked.

" That's right," said Kai.

" My name is also Heishin, Burai Heishin to be exact, Before I die, I wish to ask you to carry on my legacy," he said and then his body was reduced to black ashes.

" System I believe this foe to be worthy," Kai said and then he held out my hand as purple hazey flames came from his right eye, " Arise Burai Heishin; progenitor of the Manslayers, Arise and become my shadow," said Kai.

And suddenly from the ashes a gate appeared and a deep purple specter with the physical appearance of the same enemy Kai slayed Rose from it while he still held the same physical appearance as the swordsmen however, he now hard purple flames coming from his helmet and the joints of his armor.

While the shadow did have all its previous memories, it didn't have the ability to speak just yet since it was at Normal Grade rank, there were eight ranks if Kai remembered it, Normal Grade, Elite Grade, Knight Grade, Elite Knight Grade, Commander/General Grade, Marshal/ Commander Grade, and Finally Grand Marshall Grade.

After defeating Burai he suddenly heard a loud hiss.

Kai turned around to see a large snake like creature.

[Blue Venom-Fanged Kasaka has appeared] his system alerted him.

" Oh..shit," Kai said and he rolled out of the way of the enemy tossing a couple of kunai with paper bombs at the enemy which dug deep into the snake and exploded.

Kai then made a snake hand seal and I was coated in golden lightning as I shouted " Raitōn: Denjin-Reiki/Lightning Release Electric God Aura!"

The yellow lightning it gave kai a stun effect as It coated not only himself but also his sword with it I began slicing the enemy multiple times before leaping high into the air as kai brought his sword down shouting, " Hiten-Mitsurugi Ryu: Ryūtsuisen!" And slammed his sword down its middle slicing off half of its tail the snake howled and it fired off green gobs of venom I dodged the attacks before running up to him and shouting " Kage-Ken: Guren-kyaku/ Shadow Fist Crimson Lotus and performed a hard axe kick so strong it created a shockwave.

The snake was knocked down to the ground and Kai quickly made use of this as he sprang up and dove down stabbing the snake through the head while releasing his Electric God Aura in a burst of electric power.

" Denjin Reiki: second form grand Impact!" Shouted Kai.

The snake was defeated and Kai somehow managed to survive.

Kai was surprised to find the snake dropped an Item.

It was a rigged dagger with a wild shape It had a hand Guard made from a curved blade, it's Cross piece was decorated in bones, with two Bones pointing towards the grips, It Had a sharp fang-shaped blade at the Pommel,

Kai also found a venom gland which contained purified venom, it was a double edged sword as it would harden the user's skin but lower his strength, Kai decided to put it in his storage cache.

A gateway back home opened and Kai went through it.

Kai decided to head back home fortunately he had managed to discover that after every dungeon boss there was a warp gate back home, and this enemy just so happened to be the floor boss.

So after accessing the warp gate Kai returned to the village training ground.

A few hours later.

Kai woke up getting himself ready for class today was the day that the class was going to demonstrate their skills in the practical exam.

Naturally the class was expected to show their repertoire of abilities, fortunately Kai was going to show off a little bit.

After eating a good breakfast washing his face brushing his teeth and getting changed into his ninja/ Training uniform Kai use Shinsoku-no-Jutsu/ Technique of Godspeed to arrive at the academy building he was greeted by Naruto, Yoshiko, Hidzumè, Hinata and apparently Yae both Hinata and Yae had developed a sort of Crush on Naruto.

Kai Spent his day studying as much as he could for the upcoming exam, naturally Kai had the chance to learn more about the exam's purpose it was similar to the End of semester finals assessing what has been learned and whether a student has the knowledge needed for the next grade fortunately the written half was easy and Kai was able to pass it since most of the stuff was common knowledge for any Naruto fan, such as what are the three fundamental jutsu, what are the five chakra natures, what are the names of the five ninja villages, who were the founding fathers of Konoha, what were the names of the four hokage.

It was child's play if you're a Naruto fan and even more child's play if you actually read, Kai had helped Naruto study all he could with his clones fortunately he had managed to check the stuff out of the library for Naruto to get all he could before returning it.

Naruto and Kai both began the practical exam which revolved around showing their skills in a live combat exhibition against a Chūnin instructor.

The first round was a Taijutsu test, No weapons or chakra, just pure empty handed kumite.

Dodged a left hook before grabbing the man's arm elbowing him in the ribs and delivering a powerful low kick to the man's leg before Kai used a Rengoku-Geri to knock the man backwards, Kai came from above with a powerful 450 spinning quadruple roundhouse kick, " Kage-ken: Sōryūsen," Kai shouted the Taijutsu combination was enough to put the man back before He finished the man off with a corkscrew uppercut to the man's chin, " Ten'ei-Ryū-ken/ Heaven's shadow Flying Dragon Fist," the dragon uppercut put the instructor down.

The Instructor recovered and he decided to pass me.

The next exam was the weapons exam.

First was the Shurinken-jutsu, exam naturally with my level being intermediate I was able to hit most of the bullseyes, Naruto did so as well causing a lot of people to murmur although the Hokage gave his approval.

The next exam was a close-combat weapons exam.

Kai was lucky the exam with swords used Bokuto/wooden swords.

The duel began and quickly Kai began to overwhelm his opponent thanks to his skill with his sword style as he managed to overwhelm the man with strikes, counter strikes, cuts and guard breaks.

The Instructor was surprised at my speed this must've been due to my shadows influence and my training in the dungeon.

Outside of the standard abilities that the Shadows have which are: regeneration, infinite stamina, immortality, Growth, shadow infiltration, and their own stats, the user would also gain the knowledge of their abilities and can use them as my own albeit on a lower level, the and while Burai did poses pretty much the same abilities Kai had as a practitioner of the same clan sword style, he also had a plethora of sword based elemental releases that most had yet to even dream of.

Kai was able to perform a wall bounce before coming down with a powerful double-handed strike, " Hiten-Mitsurugi Ryu: Ryūtsuisen!" Kai Proclaimed his attack slamming his sword down on the Instructors sword the instructor locked his sword around My sword, " I've got you now," he said.

" Oh, have you?" Kai said and he performed a grip switch into a double handed rising stab into the man's chin, " Ryūtsuisen-Zan/ Dragon hammer Flash: Disaster!"

The attack rammed the tip of the wooden sword into the man's chin nearly tearing his head off the force of the thrust creating a small shockwave.

The man fell to the ground out cold.

Next was the one that Kai was waiting for, The Chakra based exam also known as the Jutsu exam.

Kai began by demonstrating his six personal Justin the first being his First technique, Kai made a Falcon Hand Seal," Raitōn: Denjin-Reiki/ Lightning Release: Electric God Aura," Kai announced the move as he suddenly became enveloped in Golden Lightning around his body, and he moved so fast he was a flash of light, from there Kai made a tiger seal and his hand caught fire as he threw a rapid punch that launched four fist shaped fire balls, " Kōnton: Bakuretsu-Geki/ Fire release: Burning Blow," he then made Bird seal as wind gathered around his fist before Kai performed a powerful straight punch, " Futōn: Tekiatsu-straito/ Wind release Cyclone straight," the blows shot through wooden logs the Hokage's eyes widened.

Kai then made a Dog seal and performed a powerful spinning attack as water pressure formed a protective defensive barrier, " Suitōn: Suiryuu-rasen/ Water Release: Water Dragon Spiral," As Kai did this he repelled any air pressure from contact with him raising the density in the air making it hard to breathe for the outsiders, this surprised the Hyuga clan considering it was very similar to the Hyuga's secret rotation technique.

the next hand seals Kai made was a Snake and from it he summoned an armor of a giant golem around my body, " Doton: Ishi-Kyojin Yoroi/ Earth Release: Stone Giant Armor!" I said and smashed through a target with my fist before releasing the armor then finally my hand started to glow as I built up my chakra into my fist before I delivered a powerful blow sending one of the targets into the sky with a powerful uppercut, "Kamite Geki/ God Hand Strike," said Kai surprising the group by his knowledge of chakra based Taijutsu.

The Hokage chuckled, " looks like Sasuke and Neji aren't the only ones who are considered prodigies this year," said Hiruzen to His fellow councilmen.

" Yes but that Water release seems awfully too familiar to the Hyuga's Revolving heavens," said a councilmen.

" Yes however if you look closely the technique is different, While they look the same the Hyuga's technique acts more akin to A wind funnel or void repelling an enemy from entering, while the water technique Kai-Kun used was more akin to a Vortex drawing Things towards it, before spitting them out, it's sort of like comparing a Gust of wind pushing you back to a whirlpool pulling you in," explained shikaku

" Hmm, He does have an exceptional amount of growth to him though," said Choza akamichi.

" I believe He may be ready to graduate ahead of his class," said mizuki.

" Sorry mizuki, But Kai-Kun is still only 12 years old, and he still has one more year to go before he can take the graduation exam, even if Kai is stronger, we Can't make exceptions like that ever again," said Iruka.

A few hours later Kai was practicing Knife fighting tactics to make use of his newly acquired Kasaka's venom fang Dagger, he still would use the Gerbera straight but would use the Venom's fang as a means for closed quarters combat until he could get stronger.

Naruto came by.

" What you got there Kai-Kun?" Asked Naruto.

" It's a new knife I managed to find whole training actually it's just the fang of a monster I killed while exploring a cave," Kai explained

" What's it called?" Naruto asked curiously.

" The kasaka's venom fang," Kai replied.

" That's a bit to long, by the way, what's a Kasaka?" Naruto asked.

It was seriously amazing how he went from being an idiot to an inquisitive child.

" It is a monster, to be precise it's a giant snake as big as a house and as deadly as a king cobra, I managed to defeat it with a mixture of Ninjutsu Kenjutsu and Taijutsu," said Kai.

" Woah, Really that's awesome," Naruto exclaimed.

" Yeah, anyway id avoid touching the blade if I were you, It can cause paralysis, and extensive bleeding if not checked," said Kai.

" I see," said Naruto.

During the night Kai had a dream where he faced a shadowy figure, naturally Kai delt with the figure the only way he knew how, By Using all his skills eventually after a long fought struggle Kai defeated the figure and the next morning Kai saw himself with a more manly body albeit as manly as you can be at 11 years old.

Kai arrived at the training ground where Tenchi told him to meet him but Kai could already tell this was a trap because Tenchi would usually greet Kai upon arrival.

The man standing before them wasn't Tenchi or didn't carry himself like Tenchi.
