Chapter 49: It’s not the problem of being powerful
Afternoon.
The much-anticipated joint class between the two classes had finally begun!
The most popular among them was Neji Hyūga. His formidable strength combined with his outstanding appearance made him even more popular than Sasuke Uchiha.
Shinho Aburame and his companions arrived at the playground. From a distance, they could see that Neji Hyūga was already surrounded by a circle of students. Despite all the attention, he remained indifferent and appeared very cold.
“Hinata.”
Shinho glanced at Hinata Hyūga.
She walked with her head bowed, her small hands tightly gripping the hem of her clothes, looking nervous and thoughtful.
“I’m here.”
Hinata instinctively looked up. Noticing it was Shinho, she quickly averted her gaze out of embarrassment.
“Radish.”
Shinho reminded her.
Hinata felt a warmth in her heart. Shinho-kun had been watching her all along. For a moment, she felt inexplicably calm.
“I heard that Neji Hyūga is even stronger than a Genin.”
Inuzuka Kiba looked very curious.
“Is that true?”
Yamanaka Ino showed surprise.
“Honestly, I’m not sure.”
Inuzuka Kiba shook his head and said, “Hinata, you should know.”
Haruno Sakura looked at Hinata and asked, “Neji Hyūga, is he really that strong?” She wasn’t clear about the relationship between the two, but since they both had the Hyūga surname, she was sure they knew each other.
“It’s not a matter of whether he’s strong or not.”
Hinata lowered her head and whispered, “He’s the kind of... very special genius.”
She had thought more than once that if Neji’s brother had been born into the main family, her father would have been so happy.
Haruno Sakura instinctively looked towards Sasuke Uchiha, a worried expression on her face. Sasuke Uchiha sensed her distrustful gaze and immediately responded firmly.
“My Uchiha life is not inferior to anyone!”
“Sasuke.”
Naruto Uzumaki raised his thumb, his teeth shining, and said, “This is youth! I support you!”
“...”
Sasuke’s mouth twitched slightly. ‘You supporting me makes me happy, but I don’t like the way you support me.’
Shinho Aburame instinctively looked away. He had received professional training; no matter how funny it was, he wouldn’t laugh. But his lips were really harder to keep closed than an AK-47.
Judging by him, Sasuke Uchiha wasn’t a match for Neji Hyūga right now. But if he wanted to pick a fight, Shinho wouldn’t stop him.
Sasuke glanced back at him. Noticing the smile on Shinho’s face, he had a bad feeling. After two crushing defeats and witnessing Shinho’s brute strength firsthand, he was temporarily convinced. The reason it was temporary was because he still believed the Sharingan was unbeatable. Once he activated it, his true colors would show.
Sasuke hesitated. Compared to actively seeking out Shinho Aburame, losing to Neji Hyūga was undoubtedly more embarrassing. With the comparison, Sasuke took that step.
“What’s up?”
Shinho noticed Sasuke approaching him. His expression was conflicted yet serious, very complex.
“Can I beat Neji Hyūga?”
Sasuke was silent for a few seconds before asking.
Shinho was somewhat surprised. Had he started using his brain?
“You can’t.”
Shinho answered honestly.
“Impossible!”
Sasuke instinctively rebutted. But seeing Shinho’s expression, he couldn’t help but feel shaken.
“Then use your ears to listen and your heart to see.”
Shinho pointed towards Neji Hyūga.
Sasuke was momentarily stunned, understanding his meaning. He fell silent again.
At that moment, Iruka Umino walked up to the group. After looking around, he directed his gaze towards Neji Hyūga. In the office, he often heard Mizuki brag about this genius student. He said Neji was comparable to the previous Kakashi Hatake and Itachi Uchiha. Iruka was envious at the time.
But now his thoughts had slightly changed. Could Shinho Aburame defeat him?
As a teacher, Iruka had a grasp of his students' strengths, including Sasuke Uchiha. But Shinho Aburame seemed to be shrouded in mystery, leaving his true strength unknown. Probably not?
Iruka couldn’t help but shake his head. Neji Hyūga was a year older than Shinho Aburame and possessed both the Byakugan and Gentle Fist. That would be a tough match.
“Is everyone here?”
Iruka clapped his hands and asked.
“Teacher, Shinnosuke is on leave today. He didn’t come.”
Someone replied.
Shinnosuke was a second-year student in Class 2-A, with good grades but a bad attitude. He said he was on leave, but he was actually skipping classes. But since he wasn’t his own student, Iruka didn’t mind.
The taijutsu class officially began. Iruka taught from the front while the students followed along. The content was still Konoha-style taijutsu.
Shinho glanced around and finally spotted Rock Lee. Without his green tight-fitting outfit, he didn’t recognize him immediately. At this time, Lee hadn’t met Might Guy yet. Shinho had a good impression of him and thought he might be able to lend a hand. Plus, maybe he could trigger some achievements.
Rock Lee hadn’t unlocked any active achievements, but Neji Hyūga had.
[Neji Hyūga.]
[Current Achievement: Wheel of Destiny.]
[Passive Achievement: Unknown.]
In the original story, Neji often talked about destiny. It’s obvious it was related to his clan’s division. But Shinho wasn’t quite sure how, and there was no rush.
Sasuke Uchiha deliberately chose a seat in the back row. He followed Shinho’s advice and began observing Neji Hyūga. But the more he watched, the more silent he became. Even Neji’s casual movements were skilled and precise, with no flaws or wasted movement.
Unconsciously, Sasuke believed Shinho’s words. He might not be able to defeat Neji Hyūga.
Halfway through the class, it was time for free activities. Iruka couldn’t help but be puzzled. Why didn’t anyone suggest sparring? He instinctively looked towards Sasuke, noticing he was seriously practicing. What was going on?
Not only Iruka found it strange, but Haruno Sakura and Inuzuka Kiba were also surprised. Only Naruto Uzumaki seemed spirited. He wasn’t afraid.
“I can do it too!”
But as soon as he stepped forward, Shinho grabbed him.
“Now is not the time.”
Shinho calmly said, “You need to learn Konoha's whirlwind first.”
“Alright.”
Naruto scratched his head and said.
Others' words might not work on Naruto, but Shinho’s words kept him in line.
The first joint practical class of the two classes concluded peacefully. Hinata looked at Neji Hyūga, not daring to approach. She originally thought the two would have some interaction in class, but instead, she was directly ignored.
“Hinata.”
Shinho called out.
Hinata quickly snapped out of her daze and jogged over to him.
Shinho walked outside. The two returned to the wooden house. Hinata suddenly noticed several new facilities in front of the wooden house. There were single bars, parallel bars, and balance beams, among others.
“These are for Sasuke.”
Shinho casually explained.
“Sasuke?”
Hinata looked puzzled.
“Come, follow me into the house.”
Shinho didn’t add any more explanations.
Shortly after they left, Sasuke Uchiha appeared. He had actually been following them all along. But from Shinho’s earlier words, he had already been noticed.
Sasuke looked at the facilities.
“Prepared for me?”
He pondered, running forward. In front of the dirt pit, he leaped up, flipped over the horizontal bar, and completed a perfect high jump.
