Konoha: Gu Master

Chapter 196: Chapter 196: The Mangekyō Sharingan's Powers

"Sasuke, what's wrong with you?" Kakashi asked warily, his tone tinged with confusion.

The Sasuke Uchiha of old, while confident after gaining strength, would never utter such chilling words.

The intent to kill Shinho? This was entirely out of character. Something was clearly amiss.

Mui trembled violently. The Sasuke before him exuded an aura of chaotic emotions, a fusion of countless feelings. This was not the same person he had been moments ago.

Shinho's earlier words echoed in Mui's mind: 'A scam?'

If Mui had wished to resurrect Muku, would the result have been the same? Would the being revived still be his son?

Despair consumed Mui as he stood frozen, overwhelmed by his thoughts.

"I feel incredible, better than ever!" Sasuke said, a twisted grin spreading across his face.

Immense ocular power radiated from him like rolling black clouds surrounding his body.

"Shinho," Kakashi's expression grew grim. "What's happening to Sasuke?"

"When the Box of Ultimate Bliss opens, it releases a being called Satori," Shinho explained. "Whoever makes the wish becomes its host."

"No wonder Kusagakure was destroyed all those years ago," Kakashi muttered, realization dawning on him. "Do you have a plan?"

Shinho, having orchestrated this, must have been prepared. Allowing Sasuke to make a wish wasn't just a reckless gamble.

"Just beat Satori out of him and seal it," Shinho said casually, stepping forward. "Everyone else, stay back."

Kakashi hesitated for a moment before nodding, pulling Mui and Ryūzetsu to a safe distance.

From his perspective, Satori couldn't possibly be stronger than a tailed beast—and Shinho had already proven himself capable of defeating the One-Tailed Shukaku.

Chisori and Karin, though worried, also followed Shinho's orders and retreated.

"You're always like this—so calm!" Sasuke's face twisted with rage, his voice icy. "But this is the last time. Today, I'll kill you!"

In an instant, Sasuke surged forward, appearing right in front of Shinho. His Lightning-Fire Sword was unsheathed, white light crackling in deadly layers.

Flying Bone Shield Gu!

Three bone shields appeared abruptly in front of Shinho, blocking Sasuke's attack.

The sound of cracking echoed sharply as the shields shattered one after another.

Sasuke's snarling face came into view, his Lightning-Fire Sword thrusting forward with ferocity. His speed and strength had clearly increased.

Shinho remained calm, his thoughts as steady as still water. He knew Satori could sense emotions and respond accordingly. Excessive thoughts would allow Satori to predict movements, nullifying all attacks.

There were only two countermeasures: either think nothing at all or use wide-area attacks. The former was more effective.

Immobilization Gu!

Sasuke's body froze for a brief moment before breaking free, but it was enough.

Dragon Elephant Strength Gu!

Shinho's fist swung forward, the phantom of a dragon-elephant materializing behind him.

The sheer force tore through the air with a piercing screech.

The punch landed.

Sasuke's abdomen visibly caved under the impact, and a wave of white energy rippled outward.

Sasuke's body was sent flying, but in mid-air, black chakra enveloped him, rapidly healing his injuries.

With a loud crash, he hit the ground, creating a crater amidst the dust and debris.

Shinho observed thoughtfully. Normally, such a punch would leave Sasuke gravely injured—if not outright incapacitated. But now, Sasuke was still standing strong.

This wasn't the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan; it was Satori's influence. As long as the Box of Ultimate Bliss remained intact, Satori wouldn't die. And in the original story, even a Tailed Beast Bomb couldn't destroy the box.

"SHINNHHOOOO!" Sasuke's furious roar echoed as he rose from the crater. The screeching sound of Chidori filled the air, its brilliant lightning now tainted black.

Like a black meteor, Sasuke charged toward Shinho.

Multi-Sword Shadow Gu!

Shadowy blades fanned out behind Shinho like a peacock's tail, flying toward Sasuke.

"I can them now!" Sasuke's body blurred, perfectly dodging every blade.

"Impressive, Mangekyō Sharingan, that is," Shinho said as a sharp, piercing sound filled the air.

Ghost Cry Gu!

An invisible shockwave rippled outward.

"Aaaagh!" Sasuke screamed, clutching his head in agony. "Get out of my mind!"

Shinho's interest was piqued. Was Sasuke regaining control of his consciousness?

But the next moment, Sasuke's gaze turned bloodthirsty, his crimson eyes locking onto Shinho. Satori's will had regained dominance.

"You must die!" Sasuke's left eye spun rapidly, releasing a massive surge of ocular power.

Shinho braced himself, but no attack came. It wasn't Amaterasu, nor was it Kagutsuchi. As expected, Sasuke's Mangekyō abilities were different.

"Shinho, your defense has always been your greatest strength," Sasuke sneered, raising his Lightning-Fire Sword. "But what happens when it's gone? As your friend, let me send you off!"

Black chakra erupted, enveloping Sasuke completely. The lightning around him darkened, and even his sword radiated a sinister glow.

"These eyes are invincible!" Sasuke declared with maniacal laughter.

Taking a step forward, he unleashed a tsunami of interwoven sword shadows, poised to consume everything in their path.

A technique that ignores defense?

Shinho remained unfazed. The three bone shields flew forward but shattered instantly upon contact with the sword, as if their defensive properties didn't exist.

How far does this "defense-ignoring" ability go?

Djinn Transformation!

Shinho's Primeval essence surged, his body growing proportionally until he stood five meters tall. His strength tripled in an instant.

Golden Aruora Gu!

A golden radiance enveloped him.

Dragon Elephant Strength Gu!

With his colossal fist, Shinho swung again, the dragon-elephant phantom roaring behind him.

The sheer power distorted the air itself, tearing through Sasuke's sword-shadow tsunami.

The resulting shockwaves unleashed deafening howls, forcing Kakashi to cover his ears. Even then, his head buzzed painfully.

Chisori and Karin fared no better, while Ryūzetsu, overwhelmed by the noise, collapsed. Fortunately, Mui caught her in time.

A deafening crash resounded.

Centered on Shinho, the ground caved inward, and the nearby river reversed course, flooding the area and forming a massive artificial lake.

Amidst the chaos, a figure was spit out from the swirling dust, Sasuke.

This time, his injuries were severe. His body was covered in bloody wounds, his flesh mangled. The black chakra's healing powers struggled to keep up, leaving his injuries half-healed.

"Sasuke… is he dead?" Karin asked, her eyes wide with alarm.

"No," Kakashi answered firmly. His Sharingan had been active throughout the fight, allowing him to see everything clearly.

Mortal wounds meant little when it came to Satori.

"Don't worry," Kakashi reassured her. "Shinho wouldn't lose control. He knows what he's doing."

Karin was about to argue when her expression suddenly changed, and she froze.

Kakashi and Chisori noticed it too.

Blood fell from Shinho's fist.

"Shinho-kun!" Karin cried out instinctively, starting to run toward him.

"Don't," Chisori said, grabbing her wrist. "Look closely. He's already healing."

Her tone betrayed her astonishment. Could Shinho have the Uzumaki clan's bloodline?

Karin hesitated and examined the scene more closely. Moments earlier, Shinho's fist had been clearly injured.

But within three seconds, it was fully healed. Only the bloodstains on his skin remained as evidence that the wound had been real.

Self-Relience Gu.

While using this gu, the greater the strength of the user meant, the faster the healing. And in his Djinn Transformation state, Shinho's strength had tripled.

"It really does ignore defenses," Shinho mused, marveling at the Mangekyō Sharingan's unreasonable nature.

He could understand why Sasuke had developed such an ability.

Over the years of sparring with Shinho, Sasuke had never been able to break through his defenses. It had clearly become an obsession for him.

However, ignoring defenses wasn't enough to overwhelm Shinho. His Self-Relience Gu and Labor Gu ensured that injuries only made him stronger.

Furthermore, Shinho had the Golden Aroura Gu and Rainbow light Gu, which meant Sasuke couldn't keep up with his speed. As powerful as techniques like Amaterasu were in theory, they were meaningless if they couldn't hit their target.

On the other hand, Sasuke's own defenses were lacking. Without Satori's immortality, a single punch would have left him incapacitated.

Shinho's curiosity was piqued. What other Mangekyō ability would Sasuke develop under these conditions?

"How is this possible?!" Sasuke gasped as he struggled to his feet, disbelief and frustration etched across his face. Black chakra poured from his body in waves.

"It hurts, Shinho!" Sasuke roared, his eyes fixed on Shinho with a gaze that seemed to pierce the soul.

His mangled face, drenched in blood, looked more like a demon than a man. Even Sakura, who adored him, would likely have nightmares for days if she saw him now.

"Is this all you've got, Sasuke?" Shinho asked calmly, his tone devoid of mockery or concern.

"Damn you! I'll kill you!" Sasuke bellowed, his killing intent erupting like a volcano.

His right eye spun rapidly, and with a surge of ocular power, he made his move.

Sasuke remained rooted in place as his Lightning-Fire Sword was tossed into the air. His hands flashed through a series of seals.

Fire Style: Great Dragon Flame Technique!

Massive streams of fire erupted from Sasuke's mouth, taking the form of multiple dragons.

However, instead of targeting Shinho, the fire surged upward into the sky. The intense heat generated air currents, and within moments, storm clouds began to form.

Shinho's eyes narrowed.

This is the setup for Kirin, he realized.

Kirin, an S-rank Lightning Release technique, harnessed natural lightning, requiring minimal chakra but delivering immense destructive power. When the weather didn't cooperate, it could be manually created with the Great Dragon Flame Technique.

As Shinho prepared to act, his pupils contracted.

The Lightning-Fire Sword that had flown upward vanished.

Simultaneously, the space behind him distorted.

With a sharp whistle, the Lightning-Fire Sword reappeared, shooting toward him like an arrow.

Golden Aroura Gu!

Shinho's body shimmered with golden light as he shifted his position in an instant, narrowly avoiding the sword.

"Shinho!" Sasuke screamed, his right hand crackling with black lightning. The sharp chirping of a thousand birds filled the air—it was Chidori.

Raising his hand high, Sasuke summoned a surge of electricity. The sky above darkened, lightning flashing ominously.

The entire Valley of the End was briefly plunged into darkness, only for the sky to brighten again in an instant.

Behind Sasuke, a massive beast materialized, the creature of legend, the Kirin.

Suddenly, the Kirin disappeared.

Above Shinho, the sky twisted, and a massive bolt of lightning surged downward, transforming into the Kirin. It roared as it engulfed him in blinding light.

"Shinho-kun!" Karin screamed in terror.

"Shinho!" Chisori's face turned pale with fear.

She couldn't imagine what life would be like for her and her daughter without Shinho.

Kakashi's heart clenched. As Sasuke's teacher, he was intimately familiar with Kirin.

In fact, the concept had originated from Shinho, who had helped Sasuke refine it. The resulting jutsu exceeded Kakashi's expectations, becoming the pinnacle of Lightning Release techniques.

"Hahahaha!" Sasuke laughed maniacally. "He's dead! Finally dead!"

"Now, that my friend, won't be so easy," a voice called from above.

"What—" Sasuke's words were cut off by a scream.

Before he could react, a flash of golden light descended, followed by a massive white elephant crushing him to the ground.

A colossal foot, enhanced by Shinho's Djinn Transformation, stomped down on Sasuke, pinning him firmly.

Blood gushed out as Sasuke struggled desperately, but it was futile.

Suddenly, a surge of dark, oppressive chakra burst from Sasuke's body. Massive black wings began to emerge faintly behind him.

"What's happening now?" Kakashi asked, staring at Sasuke in disbelief.

"It feels like something monstrous is about to emerge," Karin said, clutching Chisori's hand tightly. "Is this… Satori?"

"Maybe Satori realized it can't win while controlling Sasuke's body," Kakashi speculated. "It's trying to manifest its true form."

Shinho raised an eyebrow. So it's finally giving up?

Ghost Cry Gu!

The ghostly wail sent shockwaves through Sasuke's soul. He clutched his head and screamed, "Get out of my body!"

Shinho stepped back as the black wings fully took shape. With a powerful flap, a grotesque creature soared into the air.

The being was Satori.

Its body was grotesquely distorted, with long, spindly arms ending in sharp claws. It had no head, but a massive gaping mouth was situated on its torso.

With Satori gone, Sasuke collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

Kakashi rushed forward, picking him up and retreating. He had no desire to fight a monster like satori at the moment, not to mention meddling in a fight between two monsters.

Still, although Sasuke was beaten blue, he had gained something significant. He had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan.

And both of its abilities were impressive: one that ignored defenses, and another that ignored distance.
