KINGS OF CRICKET: The Golden Era

Chapter 63: (Part 8)

Heber shivering in excitement and joy suddenly hugged Kenzo out of the blue as Kenzo gazed at him startled. "What the hell?!" he asked shocked as Xavier, Azazel, Feng, Gabriel, Poseidon, Seraph, Cassiel and Helios blinked surprised.

"Thank you! Your highness!! I'll work hard! Nope harder and much harder than I ever did before! Thank you for praising me!" Heber gleamed smiling unrestrained.

Kenzo eyeing the others blinked his eyes wordless and slightly embarrassed as the rest chuckled. Seles looking at them smiled.

Heber tracing the sweets which Damian had got for him jumped towards Jules and Victor soon chomping them down. "So tasty~" he praised. Kenzo sighed hopelessly, "This silly kid…"

Adam on the other hand drooled uncontrollably over the sight of many sweets. "Hey! Give me too! I want to eat as well!!" he asked Heber joining him with the other middle schoolers.

"No! I won't give them to you! They're mine!" Heber growled pulling his sweets away as the two of them began bickering.

Seraph and Cassiel looking at Kenzo whispered speechless, "Kids…" "Hehe… let them be. They create a great atmosphere at a time like this." Xavier chuckled.

The highschoolers with Alan eyeing them smiled from the other side.

"Really… they are acting way too adorable for my little heart to take~" fussed Noah.

Senri agreed, "Yeah, I can't help but feel like clicking another picture of them. Hey, Zachariah! Give me your phone for a while will you?" he asked. Rauf settled beside Nidou.

"Finally, tired aren't you? And, here I wondering if you'd watch it all by just standing like a tree trunk." Nidou teased.

Rauf however, ignoring him sighed questioning instead, "So how's their progress, in your eyes?" "Not bad, however the kings and queens of the board have yet to come on stage. It's too early to judge." Nidou gazed at his file. Rauf looked at the pitch where Alan walked over.

Helios eyeing Alan who made his way towards the pitch took off his jersey handing it over to Poseidon.

Grasping his actions the middle schoolers looked at him puzzled. "Captain? What are you doing?" Ezekiel asked.

Helios turning around wore his head band. "Why are you asking me something so obvious Ezekiel. Isn't it my turn already?" Helios told. Adam and Ryan looked at each other confused. "But weren't you always covering the second last or last spot?" asked Adam remembering Helios's usual placement.

"Hm, I was. But, just like how you gave the batsman's a head start and Gabriel gave all the ballers one. I wanted to become a head start for the all-rounders. Moreover, this time it's a little different right Kenzo?" Helios asked.

"Yeah… since, our opponent is different. Helios… make sure to shatter the very ground beneath his feet!" Kenzo uttered grave.

Helios hearing him teased, "Is this the kindest way to ask for a favor your highness?" Kenzo eyed him annoyed.

"Haha! Fret not, it's a word given from a king to a king." replied Helios determined. "There is only a single king in this world and that's me. Don't you dare keep yourself on the same spot as mine?" Kenzo threatened.

Helios hearing his words smiled back. "Are you going to be alright?" Poseidon asked slightly worried.

Helios assured, "Trust me. I'll make sure to show everyone a grand view."

Ezekiel looking at him hesitated for a while. Helios sensing his nervousness patted his head. "Ezekiel, don't evade your gave even for a single second from the pitch from this moment on. Even if you get as sleepy as hell or as someone who hasn't slept for ages. For… I'll make sure you learn something new." he instructed.

Looking at him resolute Ezekiel nodded, "Yes… captain." Helios smiling at the middle schoolers including Seles picked up his bat and ball. Wearing his gloves and knee pads he walked outside the pavilion.

Suddenly stopping in his tracks he eyed Xavier, "And I apologize for taking your spot Xavier. Looks like you'll have to be the one to shine the fullest at my place."

Xavier shook his head, "It doesn't matter. Whether it's the first place or the last. I'll make sure to shine anywhere." Nodding one last time he went towards the pitch exercising his shoulder rolling his bat round and round.

"Best of luck captain!" cheered Lucifer and Claude together as Ebraham and David stood beside Poseidon and Ezekiel supporting them.

The high schoolers viewing Helios looked at each other silent. "He is coming?!" asked Noah and Aaron taken aback.

The others who had no idea of their surprised reaction shrugged their shoulders unaware. "So what about it? They all have to come out one by one." asked Orion uninterested.

"No! No! No! You guys don't get it at all! Helios is here on the pitch. Do you even know who he is?" asked Noah back in a frenzy.

"Calm down a little, isn't he Eight Generation academy's cricket society's captain who won the previous three years cricket nationals, excluding this year's? What's there to create a hustle about it?" asked Zach knowing.

"Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! So how can you guys be so calm! He is the vanguard of the middle schoolers!" Aaron exclaimed.

"Who said we are calm?" asked Kazuna seriously. "Silence doesn't always mean ignorance. It is a way to think about future possibilities." continued Senri eyeing the pitch. Aaron and Noah looked at each other confused.

"So they sent their captain first?" asked Evandor glancing at the middle schoolers on the other side. "And, their first all-rounder." Continued Haruf.

"Looks like things will finally heat up!" smirked Nidou amused as Rauf eyed them wordless. "Indeed… they will. Since, a king has stepped forward." added Isa.

"So it's the king now hun… but, I am still surprised that he is the king. Wasn't the one with grey hairs supposed to be that? Since, he always tends to act out like one?" asked Orion rolling his eyes unamused referring to Kenzo.

Isa smiling spoke up, "Who said there was a single king?" upon his words the highschoolers eyed him puzzled. "Pardon?" asked Ren embezzled.

"There wasn't a single chess board to being with. There are two from the start. Each with their own king, queen, knights, pawns, rooks and bishops." Isa clarified. "And ruling over all of them is that man." He pointed Kenzo who stared back at him smirking wildly.

"Sigh… this is really tricky." moaned Aigou. "But, interesting in its own way…" whispered Ren as Nagi nodded.

"Still, don't take him lightly. That boy is claimed to be the best amongst the juvenile players ranking in top 10's around whole Pakistan." Nagi added. "Top ten's hun… Alan's got another wild opponent." sighed Aaron.

The highschoolers looked at Alan and Helios who stood face to face against each other on the pitch.

Alan greeted, "Greetings, Helios Zadeh." Helios smiling at him replied, "Greetings to you as well, Alan Rex Lorenzo or should I call you Alan Victor Gondior?"

Alan smiled wondering, "Heh… you seem to know a lot. But, feel free to call me as you wish. In the end it doesn't change the fact that I hold both names." Helios nodding replying, "Indeed."

"As pure as the sun hun… I can't sense even a slightest bit of malevolence emerging form him…" Alan thought.

"Elegant…" he commented in a whisper. Hearing his compliment Helios blinked his eyes surprised, "Pardon?"

"I said… Elegant. You are an elegant one." Alan repeated once more. Helios hearing the praise again stood baffled not quite sure what to say next.

Alan upon his innocence chuckled, "Hehe… Alright, since you are my first all-rounder. It's up to you whether you choose to ball or bat first. Now then, your call?"

"If the honor is all mine then, I'll chose to bat first." Helios responded.

Alan nodding picked up the ball heading towards Helios's opposite. "Helios… I am carrying my greatest expectations on you. So give me a blast in these two overs." Alan demanded.

Helios smiling walked towards the batting wicket, "It is uncalled for to even ask. However, the same goes to you Alan. Don't hold back just because you are a world ranker."

The two positioning themselves before each other smiled excitedly. "Here it goes…" whispered Kenzo.

"Helios Zadeh, a 3rd year middle schooler and a famous cricketer. A skilled All-rounder who is a right handed baller exceling in delivering fast balls. In which his infamous ones are Swingers. And, from his batting side, he again right handed, who not just delivers but counters fast deliveries as well. Since, he is the captain of the Eight Generation academy and has won the nationals ever since being the freshman of the cricket team excluding this year's. His abilities has obtained him 9th position around Pakistan on the exceeding juvenile cricket all-rounders list. Earning him the title of the 'The Ultimate Paladin'. Moreover, his abilities are still not fully discovered by anyone." described Nagi.
