King Of War: Starting with Arms Dealer

Chapter 883 Talus Armor

Joe Ga stood in an empty training room.

A few technicians in white coats pushed two aluminum alloy boxes, each over two meters tall, to the center of the room. They then used their feet to lock the boxes in place and pressed a few buttons on a screen on the box panel...

Joe Ga was very interested in this thing. He rubbed his hands as he walked forward, listening to the sound of hydraulic linkages working inside the box. Then the lid opened, revealing the 'Talus Armor' inside.

Inside the two boxes were two glowing plastic mannequins, each wearing a set of the so-called 'Talus Armor'.

One set was supported by an exoskeleton, looking very formidable.

The other set seemed to have some sort of lightweight patches stuck on the body, overall giving a rather ordinary protective capability, but the material looked quite special, making it appear high-end.

What surprised Joe Ga a little was that the exoskeleton armor on the left had been enhanced all around.

Apart from the exoskeleton that ran along the sides of the body, outer arms, waist, and thighs connecting into a whole, the designers at Talus Corporation, whether to swindle funding or truly design a future armor...

This exoskeleton was equipped with modular external protective armor.

The outer cover of high-strength ceramic pieces layered with high-carbon fiber was designed with a sci-fi aesthetic, using irregular armor pieces to form something like the 'Sergeant's Armor' from the Halo game.

The technician in the white coat noticed Joe Ga seemed particularly interested, so he pressed a button on the outside of the box, and the mannequin inside began to spin, allowing Chief Joe to admire the armor that cost 200 million US Dollars to develop from all angles.

The exoskeleton structure was actually not much different from what Ayu used, except the armor plates on the back seemed particularly heavy due to the custom high-energy battery inside.

The technician standing next to the box saw Joe Ga coming closer. He smiled and said, "sir, this is the first generation of 'Talus Armor'. Its power demand is very small, but our designers have still left ample redundancy for battery placement."

As he spoke, this white-coat picked up a backpack from inside the box, using the backpack's inner buckle to attach it to the back of the armor. Then he took off the tech-laden helmet from the mannequin's head and put it on his own...

No one really knew how he operated it, but suddenly a lightweight drone popped out from inside the mannequin's backpack.

The drone quickly activated before it could fall, hovering at a height of 2.5 meters.

Then the white-coat turned and walked a few steps, while the drone followed behind him like a loyal hunting dog.

The white-coat seemed deliberately trying to demonstrate the intelligence level of the drone. He began running in a figure-eight pattern around the two boxes, and the drone, like a happy hunting dog, followed him closely, emitting a faint 'buzzing' sound.

After showcasing the drone's capabilities, the white-coat lifted the gold visor on the helmet and said to Joe Ga: "sir, the helmet of the Talus Armor is equipped with a powerful information processor and sensors, not only providing digital visual imaging capabilities but also capable of detecting and distinguishing targets within a 1 km radius via the drone."

As he spoke, the white-coat pointed to a box at the mannequin's feet and said: "Inside is a portable rocket launcher. If needed, soldiers wearing Talus Armor can simultaneously lock onto six targets and use rockets for precise strikes."

Saying this, the white-coat awkwardly took off the helmet, handed it to Joe Ga, and said, "sir, you can feel it; this armor is definitely worth it."

Joe Ga took the helmet, scanned it for a moment, and then put it on his head. Under the white-coat's guidance, he closed the visor and activated the helmet's internal system.

This gadget was like a combined digital helmet used in helicopters but integrated with pickup headphones and a 360-degree omnidirectional detection camera.

The visor acted as a heads-up display, with clear markings using voice and visual inputs for system operations.

After fiddling with it for a while, Joe Ga took off the helmet and gave it back to the slightly balding white-coat in front of him, smiling as he said, "This thing is more advanced than I expected, but I still think the price of 9 million is outrageous.

Having soldiers wear 9 million dollar armor into battle would be better replaced with missiles tossed over."

Said Joe Ga, looking at the white-coat who was smiling awkwardly, and joked, "Are you with Talus Corporation?"

The white-coat nodded helplessly and said, "Yes, sir, I am Johnny, Johnny Payne, the Chief Executive Officer of Talus Corporation."

Joe Ga laughed upon hearing this and said, "Chief Executive Officer personally escorting the equipment?

Why? I thought this stuff was pulled out of the CIA's equipment warehouse."

Johnny Payne shook his head and said, "I received the message while I was precisely at the New Jersey lab, so I brought a new sample.

Well, there was a slight issue with the set from the CIA's warehouse…"

As he spoke, Johnny Payne looked at Joe Ga with an almost amused look and said helplessly, "sir, you should understand that an epoch-making weapon like this doesn't happen overnight.

We need constant experimentation and validation of the armor's internal systems to continually enhance the armor's Intelligent Assistance System, aiming to make it a highly integrated frontline digital platform."
