Chapter 118: Perverted old man
Fokay – Fireborn's Estate
In the training ground of Fireborn's estate, a young man with bright orange hair sat calmly cross-legged on the floor, seemingly in deep meditation.
His breaths came in rhythmic waves, making him seem at one with nature.
As he breathed, you could see wisps of orange fire escape his nose, giving him a more mystical look than others could admit.
The scene continued until he snapped his eyes open, showing his black eyes that seemed to burn like twin black flames. He stood up calmly from the ground and approached the middle of the training ground.
Once there, he stood still, his expression focused.
The training ground was quite simple in appearance. It looked like a closed room, but with much larger space, and the ceiling, the ground, even the walls were all made from a strange red stone that seemed to subtly emit fire constantly.
Well, that's what you would believe. But in truth, it was just a normal stone that had been transformed into these fire stones through runic inscriptions.
Simple to say, but the difficulty was immense.
And the runes needed to transform ordinary rock into artificial fire rock—rocks that always emitted fire in order to keep the temperature of any place inside this estate very hot—were only known to the Fireborns.
And today, their heir, Kenan Fireborn, was going to test the results of his days of intense training.
After standing still for a couple of seconds, fire started to erupt around him in a slow and ordered way. The orange fire appeared behind him like small balls of tennis, encircling him completely.
Kenan didn't move.
The small balls of fire started to gather themselves just in front of him, forming a single big ball of fire. At this point, the temperature of the training room became high, and with that, you could see the ripple of space that looked like an undulating ocean because of the heat.
But Kenan didn't feel anything. And he continued.
He wanted to test his manipulation of fire, so he started to create different forms with fire.
Swords, spears, spikes and so on.
After that, he decided to try something else. It was to turn that big ball of fire into one thin, fine thread.
Needless to say, the difficulty was off the charts.
But Kenan was motivated, so step by step, he started to compress the ball of fire into a thread. Not fine, just a thread.
After minutes of concentration and deep manipulation, he succeeded in creating a thread. It was very thick—like the finger of an adult man—and long, but at least he had something to work on.
After having the thread now, he wanted to try to compress it until he obtained a fine thread, but one with power capable of leveling down a whole building.
He succeeded in thinning it until it looked as thick as the finger of a small child. He couldn't do better.
He pushed himself, sweat poured down from his forehead softly, but still… nothing happened.
After almost an hour without any advance, Kenan finally stopped.
Thud.
He fell on his ass on the ground.
"Ah… it's hard, really." Kenan muttered under his breath, his breathing ragged.
"It left one last thing." He said, before slowly tongues of orange flames appeared all around him. The temperature immediately became far worse, and it looked like the very atmosphere was melting.
Kenan smiled, seeing his state. He had succeeded in improving his Budding Intent into a fully Awakened Intent.
"I wonder… did he succeed too?" he wondered to himself, even if in fact, he knew the answer.
He smiled wryly,
"That monster must have awakened fully too, maybe even more earlier than me." Kenan said.
Since the event of the duel, Kenan had changed drastically.
Not only because of what his mother said to him—that if you love someone, you don't force your love on them, especially if that person doesn't like you and/or is in a relationship.
It was pitiful and humiliating.
But that's not the only thing, as his father had also explained to him roughly about their situation with Kaden and the fact his brother helped his father greatly one time and ended up becoming his friend.
So after all this… how could he dare go against Kaden. Even if…
"I… I miss her." Kenan muttered.
With his training he had been able to forget about her for a moment, but now that he was done… he couldn't help but think about her again.
"Ah… how can I forget about her…? Is the only way to be a training freak?" he wondered, and for a moment he was serious about it but—
"That's not a viable and long-term solution, young master." A voice suddenly appeared behind him, as a new presence was felt inside the training room.
Kenan was not surprised, he was getting used to it. Instead,
"So what do you propose, Grandpa Albert?" he asked as he lay down on the hot floor without a twitch on his face.
Albert looked at his young master with a sense of satisfaction only a grandfather could feel toward his grandchild. It was wonderful how Kenan had matured after that setback.
And that's what a setback was meant to be.
A lesson to learn, to reflect on, and grow stronger both physically and mentally. And he was happy to see his young master did exactly that.
"Well, it's quite easy, young master."
Albert smirked.
It was the kind of smirk a big brother would give his younger brother when he was about to introduce him to a whole new world of… pleasure. And indeed—
"You just have to find another woman. Not enough? Take a second one. Not enough to forget her? A third will do. What? Still not enough? Then ten of them will do."
Kenan jolted as if he had just heard the most profane thing in the whole universe—but at the same time… something clicked inside of him.
Albert smiled, seeing a slight shift in the eyes, but suddenly his face became solemn as he looked at Kenan seriously,
"Don't ever tell anyone it was me who introduced you into this glorious path… okay? I don't need recognition." Albert said in a very serious voice, as if he had just leaked the secret of the Celestial Empire.
Kenan's face mirrored Albert in its seriousness, as if a soldier receiving his final order,
"Roger that, Grandpa."
Then—
"Huhuhuhu."
"Hehehehe."
They started laughing evilly.
That day, an old perverted man corrupted an innocent lovestruck fool.
…
Darklore
Kaden and Daela sat side by side as they looked at the two in front of them. Eimi and Zaki.
"Big brother! Big sister! Thank you for saving us!!" Eimi said as she bowed deeply, until her head touched the ground.
Seeing her, Zaki slowly followed behind, but his eyes were fixed on both Kaden and Daela—or more accurately… their features.
Kaden noticed it and smiled quietly.
"No need to bow down to us, little girl." He said warmly to Eimi before shifting his eyes to Zaki. "It looks like you recognize us?" he asked.
Zaki nodded timidly in response, his body subtly shaking.
Eimi's face became worried as she held his hand and flashed a smile of reassurance. Only then did Zaki stop trembling.
Daela frowned in disgust.
"How can you be so cowardly?" her voice was extremely cold and harsh, judging Zaki without remorse.
Zaki started to shake again.
"Please, madam, don't speak to Zaki like this!" Eimi said immediately, changing from big sister to madam, showing her disapproval.
Kaden couldn't help but smile at this scene, but his smile soon disappeared as he saw how Daela was ready to continue her trash talking.
"Well… please calm down." Kaden interrupted, making Daela immediately calm down.
He turned towards Eimi and Zaki,
"Why were you outside of Waverith?" he asked, curious.
They hesitated for a second but decided to tell,
"We only wanted to find some low-rank monsters in order to know how Zaki's awakened skill works." Eimi said.
Her response made both Kaden and Daela frown as they looked at Zaki.
He clearly looked fifteen. Did he awaken late? But even then, why didn't he know his skill?
Seeing their looks, Eimi knew what they were thinking about,
"His family is bad bad with him. They just gave him an awakened crystal and left him alone. But they didn't give him anything else to know his skill's description." Eimi said, anger in her voice—anger for Zaki.
'Ah yes… of course.' Kaden thought.
He turned towards Daela, "Do you have an identification crystal with you?" he asked.
Daela simply used her space ring and pulled out an identification crystal and put it in front of Zaki.
"Well, now you can see your skill and even the description of your origin. Go on." Kaden said.
Zaki and Eimi's eyes widened in surprise as they immediately bowed again.
"Thank you, big sister and big brother!" Eimi said.
"T-Thank you." Zaki added.
But Zaki hesitated, his hand trembling.
Eimi gripped his arm, whispering, "Go on. It's okay."
Then a panel appeared in front of everyone.

The moment they read the texts…
"Fucking hell…" Kaden muttered, shocked.
"What the…?" Daela followed, eyes wide.
"MYTHIC?'" both Zaki and Eimi shouted in unison.
