Killed Me? Now I Have Your Power

Chapter 113: The Loving Siblings

'The power of death,' Kaden thought inwardly.

He had never thought about this, to be honest. For him, the power to revive with death coins was already a very powerful concept of the power of death.

So he unconsciously didn't even consider obtaining himself the same type of power, even though… he was more familiar with death than blood.

After all, the more you experience something, the more you are familiar with it, and the more close you are to it.

And how many times had Kaden died and come back?

Honestly?

Too many to count. And the worst, or maybe the best, is that he will continue to die.

Because his growth depends principally on…

'…death.'

By all accounts, this was his way.

So now the question was, how can he obtain the power of death?

'By being killed by someone or a beast with the power of death,' Kaden thought inwardly.

But here's the problem—where will he find a being with that power?

Even blood controllers are rare to find, so what would death be? Even rarer.

'There must be a way. I just need one beast or human who I will provoke to kill me.'

He kept thinking, trying to recall in his mind any location where such beasts exist or any being with that kind of power.

"K-Kaden…?"

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the soft voice of Daela.

Kaden opened his eyes and looked downwards, finding Daela looking at him as if she couldn't believe her eyes.

"I was not dreaming…?" she asked, but it was more to herself.

She thought she had dreamed about seeing her brother inside the prison, but it was real?

Then she looked around their surroundings and found it different from the cell she was in.

Around her there was only the rocky floor of the caves and the slightly damp air around.

Instantly, she knew Kaden had saved her.

She returned her gaze to Kaden, looking at his face with slightly trembling eyes as her heart started to beat extremely fast and loudly.

Kaden smiled warmly but also with sadness, seeing her state.

"Sorry for being late," he said softly.

Daela shook her head, trying her absolute best to not let any tears drop from her eyes or even a change in her face like a true Warborn.

'Don't cry, Daela. Don't cry… you are the big sister… don't cry,' she thought, motivating herself not to cry.

"Don't be sad for my state. I can recover with a high-grade regenerative potion," Daela said as she got up with difficulty from Kaden's lap and sat at his side, against the wall of the cave.

Kaden didn't say anything at her words. He stayed silent.

Daela, too, didn't ask him how he saved her with so many beasts, runes and obstacles in his way.

Instead—

"Thank you," Daela said.

These were simple words, but the sincerity and love behind them were immense.

Kaden smiled.

"No need, aren't we family?"

"And besides, wouldn't you do the same for me if I was captured?"

"I would." The response was instant, without any ounce of hesitation.

'I would slaughter anyone and even their family who dared to touch you…' Daela added in her mind, her thoughts dark.

She was captured and tortured, but she didn't even pay attention to these experiences.

She was more concerned about her brother, wondering if he was okay.

And maybe that's what makes the Warborns scary.

They are not afraid of death. They are not ones that will be traumatized from being tortured. They are not ones that will whine if anything bad happened to anyone.

And if any of them was killed unjustly, they will only declare war on you and kill everyone in their way—and that no matter how many of them will die in that process.

As for them… death is just a glorious thing if it happens to you in a battlefield.

And Daela was just like them, even if she had started to listen to her brother, and that's why—

"It's the Cerveau," Daela said, surprising Kaden as he turned his gaze towards her.

"How did you know?" he asked.

"You told us to be careful about them. I was careful," Daela said simply, then she looked at Kaden with her apathetic eyes and expressionless face back on her face.

But inside, in her mind…

'Praise me… I did what you said…' she thought, eager to hear her brother's praise but shy to ask him herself.

But as if Kaden understood the meaning behind her gaze, he smiled brightly.

It was a smile of joy, relief, and happiness.

Because his sister didn't seem to have any trauma in her or anything like that.

It looked as if all of this horror hadn't even happened to her.

And that's…

"You are so wonderful, Daela! You are the best sister ever!" he said joyfully while patting her head unconsciously.

…deserved some praise, right?

Daela didn't expect such a bright response and with a pat added to that.

Her expression instantly relaxed as she felt the warm hand of her brother on her head.

'I am the best sister… the best sister… it's me, Daela Warborn,' she kept repeating inside her mind with deep pride and contentment.

When Kaden realized that he was patting Daela, he instantly removed his hand from her head and laughed nervously,

"Haha… it was instinctive, I'm sorry. You were just too cute," he said awkwardly.

But he didn't know that Daela's mind had completely stopped.

Kaden looked at her and saw her red blank eyes fixated on him.

'She is really angry…? Damn!' he thought and decided to just mind his business before his sister beat his ass with only one arm and one leg.

But what he didn't know…

'Cute…? I am cute…?'

It was something she had heard multiple times in both Fokay and Darklore.

But all those who said it found themselves either dead or with one limb less.

But as she heard it from her cute little brother…

'Am I cute…?' she wondered again as if not believing in her beauty that could make any man be a simp for her.

And at last, a smile crept to her lips.

It was a subtle smile, one Kaden didn't notice as he was looking to the other side, trying to act innocent.

A smile of joy. A smile of happiness. A smile of love.

And with all this, Daela couldn't help but—

'It's my best day ever… I should get myself kidnapped and tortured again,' she thought.

She was ready to go through intense pain if that's what it took to hear and experience all these kinds of emotions, because truly…

'My little brother is truly the sweetest person ever.'

She loved him dearly.

And…

…she was ready to drown the world in blood for him.
