Pov change unknown. A mysterious figure popped out of the shadows of a throne room before looking at the man sitting on a throne in the back of the room.

The figure slowly approached the man before bowing.

Sir I'm sorry but we lost Brent we'll need to find a new high class infected but I promise I won't fail aga.

He gets cut off by a green beam of energy going right through his head before he falls to the ground lifelessly.

You're right you won't fail me again, you'll never have the chance, he said coldly before snapping his fingers and a maid coming in and taking the body.

All these useless minions, no matter how much help I give them they always fail no matter what I do, I can go and give them the perfect virus to have humanity wipe itself out, yet the decide to modify it to try and speed up the process and soon the humans gain so much power from the virus they can even resist my minions.

Then I take human form and lock up the most powerful infected so the humans can wipe out their strongest warriors and then he sets them free thinking he could use them, that idiot.

I should have never taken up that stupid James kaner form, all it does is cause me mountains of trouble, the mysterious figure rambles on to his maid clearly frustrated about the failures of his underlings.

And now I need a new shadow master along with the others I had to exterminate because of their patheticness, he said before leaning back on his throne.

Pov change Zeek 8 days later.

Oh my God Ava would you please be quiet for one second Zeek finally snapped at Ava after 11 days of nothing but her nagging him and being annoying.

Like I said if you wanted me to be quiet you should have brought me something to do, she said unhappy.

Also have you even practiced once, you do realize we're going into the heart of the most dangerous spot on earth, literally known as gods graveyard right, it's all we can do to go to South Korea since anywhere else in Asia we'd die before we even landed at shore, Zeek said getting more frustrated by the second.

I know that but I'm just really bored, I'm sorry if I'm being frustrating but it's really hard not to be when all I've done for the past 11 days is look at the water and sky, that kinda gets to a person eventually, she said slightly apologetically.

Pov change Ava. After arguing with Zeek and going below deck she decided to take Zeek's advice and train her powers finally.

She tried pulling on the connection between her and the shadows, nothing happened.

It went like this for 30 minutes until finally she got one of the shadows to twitch a little, how does Zeek make this look so easy Ava said while panting, wait why don't ask him she said blushing in embarrassment realizing she could've just gotten instruction.

Hey Zeek Ava said while walking up to the main deck.

For the last time I have nothing for you to do, Zee said, obviously annoyed.

No it's not about that, I was just gonna ask how do you control your powers, she said defensively.

Oh well then that's pretty simple I just connected the energy inside me to my string and then it's pretty much instinct how to do the rest Zeek said with a shrug at the end.

Yeah but I don't feel any energy inside myself. It's only in the shadows, she said confused.

Then how about instead of trying to manipulate the energy in the shadows you try pulling it in, Zeek said before getting back to sailing.

Why didn't I think of that, Ava said before face palming.

Ava went back below deck before trying to pull the shadows into herself, as she pulled her vision lit up and she saw the shadows, but instead of just being black they were green, and as she pulled she slowly saw the turn from green to red as she felt there energy enter her until it turned completely red and she could pull anymore energy from them.

Woah I feel powerful, she said happily.

As she was standing there she decided to try to rest out her abilities.

How about I try coating myself in this energy for some extra strength, she thought excitedly.

As she tried coating her body in energy she watched as she slowly became transparent before all that was left was her shadow.

Meanwhile above deck Zeek watched as the shadows above deck seemed to squirm and become less vibrant.

Well looks like she finally managed to get ahold of her abilities, wonder what she can do with them, hopefully it's something other than pure stealth or my plan of doing shifts sleeping once we get there will be runed, Zeek thought before he saw another ship on the horizon.

What is that, ships never come this close to Asia, why is one out here, he thought before turning the boat to go check it out.
