Kalinaya: Blood of the Forgotten Gods

Chapter 27: Chapter 27 — Ankita’s War Cry

Location: Ashtashram Training Yard

Date: October 21, 2029

Time: 6:40 AM

Ankita Singh had killed before.

In uniform.

In sand.

In silence.

But this was different.

Back then, she had orders.

Now, she had a child clinging to her arm and a gun that barely fired.

The Quiet One's attack had shaken everyone.

Yash hadn't spoken since.

Mira was setting traps.

Rishav didn't sleep.

And Ankita?

She trained.

Non-stop.

The recruits—teenagers, survivors, ex-addicts—watched her.

Not because they believed.

But because she did.

Every morning, she screamed into the wind:

"You want fear? Take mine."

"You want weakness? Watch me bleed and still stand."

And they did.

One morning, a new threat came.

A rogue group — former police turned scavengers — tried to break in.

They thought Ashtashram was weak.

They were wrong.

Yash didn't speak.

He just looked at Ankita.

And she nodded.

"Let me."

She met them at the gate.

Alone.

No armor.

Just scars and steel.

"Where's your boss?" one laughed.

She pointed behind them.

"No," he sneered. "Behind you."

And she smiled.

Then moved.

Three seconds.

She cracked the leader's jaw.

Disarmed the second.

Threw the third into a pillar.

No divine mark.

No ash.

Just rage.

And precision.

"Leave your weapons.

Leave your food.

And walk."

They ran.

They didn't look back.

That night, the shelter sang.

Not out of joy.

Out of relief.

And Ankita sat alone in the watchtower.

Looking at the stars.

Yash joined her.

She didn't turn.

"I'm not one of your Viras."

He nodded.

"You don't need to be."

She smiled — just once.

"But I'll still burn louder than half of them."
