Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?

Chapter 1395: Breakdown/Power-up

<Milord...you do realize whenever you say something like that, there's usually a non-zero chance something happens that causes the situation to get significantly worse?>

'Yes.'

=At this point, we're just calling it the Zhen Liu effect. Or would it be more accurate to call it the Thomas Lee effect.=

'I don't appreciate either name for this, to be completely honest,' Zhen Liu protested. 'Pretty sure it's just Murphy's Law.'

<=Meh.=>

'Either way, I need to focus right now.'

...Timeline gets weird here, but the previous chapter happens at the same time as this one...

As Zhen Liu was joined up by Nepherage and Blazejudicator, Dante was soon joined by Obsidious and Oizys once more.

[Apologies, master,] Oizys said in a servile tone as he lowered their head. [We didn't mean to fail to—]

^Enough,^ Dante interrupted whilst raising a hand to stop Oizys's unnecessary apology.^Right now, we need to focus on ending this battle in our favor. Oizys. Obsidious. With me.^

[Of course.]

[As you command.]

Following their master's orders, Oizys became Dante's [Stigma], while Obisdious took his place once more as his [Taboo].

The former practically melted before reshaping into a sticky black facsimile or full-bodied armor that made Dante look like a more refined, more foul version of the tar man that Oizys was.

As for the latter, Obsidious took on the shape of that vicious assortment of guns and cannons once more.

'Huh…'

In Zhen Liu's eyes, Dante resembled a fucked-up war machine toy from retro toyline that had melted after a child thought it was a good idea to direct a magnifying glass on them on a sunny day.

Then again, he wasn't really one to talk when it came to abilities resembling toys and other forms of children's media.

'Wait, is it just a universal constant that kaijin and kaijin related abilities seem to resemble children's toys from my old life?,' Zhen Liu mused for a moment before focusing back at the moment at hand.

Which amounted to standing menacingly alongside Blazejudiactor and Nepherage as Dante leveled his cannons in Zhen Liu's direction and began charging them up with [Chaos].

Already, Zhen Liu could sense the build-up of hateful rockets that Dante wanted to use to tear him into a million little pieces and burn whatever was left into smoldering ashes that would then be damned to hell.

[Get ready to die, my mortal foe,] Dante taunted. [Hateful-!]

Unfortunately, before he could have a chance to do so, the sound of three simultaneous explosions distracted him.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

[What the fuck?!]

'Ah, it appears the Gallop Brothers won their respective revenge matches. Excellent.'

From the arena, Gumba was sent flying while engulfed in bronze-colored flames that radiated this feeling of [Hope]. Needless to say, these burning hot flames made it so that Gumba's ability to bring about despair would dry out before he even had a chance to make the ground even slightly damp.

From the depths of a dresidental cavern, Slavina could be seen getting caught up in a giant twisting vortex of wind that carried her out of there and into the air.

No longer would her poisonous thorns, or horrific vines bring anyone down to their knees ever again, for they would all be torn to shreds by the winds of [Freedom].

Lastly, but certainly not least, Delictum was looking like a drowned owl as he launched out of the prison cavern by a giant spout of water. Ignorance was weak in the face of pure [Determination], and Delictum's bones were just as weak. The embodiment of [Ignorance] would no longer be able to force his version of bliss onto others.

Whether it was a coincidence or by design was unknown, but all three of the defeated [Demon Knights] were sent flying to land in places that were right next to Dante and his remaining kaijin. Which was, ironically, also next to the defeated lesser kaijin.

Surprisingly, though, the [Demon Knights] were not quite yet slain due to the Gallop Brothers desire to make their executions something that the other slaves should have the ability to witness for themselves for the sake of justice and morale.

Regardless, at the exact same time all of this was occurring, the Gallop Brothers exited their respective arenas and moved to join Zhen Liu, Blazejudicator, and Nepherage in the air.

[Sorry for taking so long, war chief,] Depth Strider spoke first as he was the first to arrive. [Delictum proved trickier to pin down than expected.]

[That was greatly refreshing,] Pegasoar snorted with satisfaction. [I haven't moved this freely in ages.]

[And it looks like we just have one more asshole to defeat,] Rail Horn noted while palming his fist in anticipation.

From an outsider perspective, this battle was done and dusted.

Dante was visibly outnumbered, and the Gallop Brothers had just proven that despite being freshly minted kaijin that they were stronger than his most elite warriors. Evidently, thsi fact was so shocking to Dante that the man stopped charging his attack and directed his attention towards the defeated kaijin that were laying all round him with what Zhen Liu could only guess was a numb expression of disbelief.

Due to using Oizys as a [Stigma], Dante's expression was fully covered.

Regardless, Zhen Liu was now determiend to end this fight in a manner that he hoped was fitting and incredibly ironic: by using an improved version of the trick Dante had tried to use to kill him before.

[Hey, can you guys step back?] Zhen Liu ordered the Gallop Brothers, Nepherage, and Blazejudicator as he floated forward. [This next part might get a little…dicey.]

^Haha…^

Zhen Liu proceeded to grab [Alf Layla Wa Layla] from around his neck and bundle it up in one of his hands. In the other hand, Zhen Liu focused and summoned forth [Senbazuru] in a similar shape.

^Hahahaha…^

Once he had both [Taboo] and [Regalia] in hand, Zhen Liu began to focus on the two and try to bring them together in order to-

^BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!^

[What the fuck?]

Before Zhen Liu could finish creating his [Apostasy], Dante began to laugh in a positively unhinged manner. Making the whole thing even more disturbing, Oizys seemed to help enhance this maniacal laughter by making Dante's face stretch in unnatural ways.

Needless to say, the words coming out of Dante's mouth were equally as deranged as his laughter.

^What a joke! What a farce! How fucking absurd!^ Dante continued to laugh. ^All of kaijin, defeated. Most of elite knights, rendered useless. And even my zakos have proven to be nothing more than unusable brutes that can barely understand the difference between swinging a sword and swinging nothing! Haha. Bahaha. BAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!^

[Uh…huh…]

At this point, Zhen Liu could feel that [Chaos] inside of Dante was starting to build up in a way that wasn't indicative of an attack, or self-destruction, but something that was comparatively worse.

It was somethign so bad, that not even Logos and Pathos understood what the fuck was going on.

Well, not entirely anyways.

'Logos. Pathos. What the fuck?'

<If I had to guess? A mental breakdown.>

=You remember how [Chaos] is incredibly reactive to emotions?=

'Yeah…'

<=What do you think happens to one emotions once they undergo a mental breakdown?=>

'Oh…'

Understanding that shit was about to go not only sideways, but every which way, Zhen Liu slowly floated backwards until he was rejoined by his kaijin, who proceeded to enter defensive stances as well.

Dante, for his part, didn't care as he continued to laugh like a lunatic…until he finally stopped.

[BAHAHAHAHAHA…ha…]

And once he did, the [Chaos] that was churning inside of him became eerily still as well.

Silence and tension filled the air for what felt like an eternity.

[I should've just done this from the start,] Dante eventually muttered in a voice that was much too quiet even for a whisper.

[What the hell is he on ab-WHOA!]

Before Rail Horn could finish asking his question, Dante suddenly whipped out one of his hands towards the crumbled forms of the defeated lesser kaijin, a small group of them at least, and engulfed them in a torrent of pitch black tar, the same tar that was used to trap the rebel warriors from earlier.

However, the effects this time was much more…brutal.

The [Chaos] in the tar began to react violently against the bodies of the defeated kaijin causing them to melt down completely into the stretched limb until there was nothing left but golden [Cores].

These [Cores] didn't breakdown as anticipated, but instead, began to travel but Dante's arm, colliding with one another until they formed into a solid, singular mass.

Once this mass had formed, it traveled all the way up until it had reached the part where Dante's heart would be located and violently embedded itself into his chest.

A surge of [Chaos] was accompanied by this action, followed by a distortion of Dante's demeanor.

[Not enough…still not enough!]

And shortly after this action, Dante did it again but with a bit more…oomph.
