Chapter 1391: [Freedom] vs [Oppression]
Location: Entrance of Caved-In Residential Area #44
Pegasoar has crashed Slavina into the entrance of a residential cavern with the hope that the sheer amount of rock, combined with the absurd speed with which he tackled her, would be enough to instantly destroy her.
Alas, the bitch of a weed was just as tough as one.
Then again, it probably helped that Slavina sent out her roots and vines to anchor herself on the entrance of the cave.
This little action changed Slavina from the victim to a horse-shaped missile into a net that was preventing Pegasoar's forward momentum.
In other words, this had transformed from a one-sided beatdown to a struggle between an immovable object and an unstoppable force.
Mutual destruction was possible, but not imminent.
[Well, well, pony boy! Looks like you're going to have to muscle through the force of the entire planet if you want to push me any further,] Slavina mocked. [And you don't seem like you're built for brute strength.]
[You're right! I'm more of a fast thinker!] Pegasoar roared before changing his approach.
In the blink of an eye, Pegasoar went from tackling with his full shoulder to suddenly grabbing Slavina by the waist and flying in reverse as fast as he could.
The speed was mandatory, as he didn't want Slavina to suddenly release the anchors that she had painstakingly placed in the earth. Well, not until he had finished pulling Slavina as far back as she could reach without her roots and vines snapping like an overstretched rubber band.
[Bah! What the fuck are you doing, you little HRK?!]
It had only taken a few seconds for Pegasoar to reach the limit of Slavina's stretching, as evident by the snapping sound that echoed through the cavern when he did.
[Release!]
Slavina didn't even have time to question or complain about this mistreatment of her rooty limbs until Pegasoar had released his grip and allowed the plant bitch to snap back and slam into the caved-in entryway with full force.
This sudden snap back was powerful enough to blow the cavern wide open and allow entry into what was originally the resting place of hundreds, if not thousands, of slaves past and present.
With the venue now fully determined, Pegasoar let out a whinnying noise of satisfaction before flying in after Slavina.
'You once forced us to watch you dominate our good friends and have them kill themselves in horrific ways, all while they had smiles on their faces. It's only appropriate now that I mulch you where you had spilled the most blood. Now, let's finish this!'
…
Location change: The Inside of Residential Area #44
…
When Pegasoar entered the Residential Cavern, he was expecting to see Slavina being buried in rubble and in the process of digging herself out. However, that wasn't what he saw.
'Huh? Where did she go?'
Instead, he saw nothing.
Well, to be more precise, Pegasoar found himself floating in the middle of an abandoned residential cavern, with poor pieces of furniture and tattered clothes scattered about, clear signs that the evacuation of this place was less than orderly.
'Hmm. Maybe if I…'
Feeling suspicious over the lack of an opponent, Pegasoar began to expand his senses by releasing [Chaos] and allowing the surrounding air to carry it around.
If Slavina was in the room or had escaped through a small opening, he would be able to sense it via the movement of the air.
'Now where'd you slither off—'
SURPRISE, BITCH!
'Of course.'
Before Pegasoar could get a full read of the surrounding air and lock on to Slavina's location, the weedy bitch struck first.
From the floor, the walls, and the ceiling, dozens of thorn-covered vines and splintering roots shot out and attempted to ensnare Pegasoar in Slavina's venomous grip.
Just one of these little pricks would be enough to change Pegasoar from a ferocious warrior of the wind into a drooling slave that would be more than happy to rip out their own heart for Slavina's amusement.
However, this terrible fate would never come to pass.
Before the vines and roots could deliver their payload of poison, Pegasoar immediately surrounded himself in a layer of roaring winds that tore the plant matter to shreds before it even had a chance to even touch his skin.
This little trick did wonders in preventing this initial attempt, knocking away thorns and splinters alike, but Pegasoar knew that this trick of his wasn't going to work against heavy attacks.
[Suck on this, horsefly!]
[Saw that coming a mile away!]
Which is why Pegasoar was more or less ready when Slavina suddenly popped out of the ceiling while transforming her hand into a giant wooden claw that would look more at home attached to an ent than her sylvette form.
The swinging claw managed to overpower Pegasoar's wind barrier in a single blow. However, it was also slow enough and heavy enough that instead of plowing straight through and slamming into Pegasoar directly, the claw ended up disturbing the air with just enough force that the agile kaijin was able to simply dance upon the sudden updraft and avoid the attack entirely.
Pegasoar wasn't satisfied with simply avoiding Slavina's attack, though.
[Pinwheel Slasher!]
While he was flipping through the air, Pegasoar infused his hands with [Chaos] and aether, creating a buzzsaw of highly pressurized air.
SLASH!
[GAH!]
One good swing of his arm was all that Pegasoar needed in order to cut through the wooden claw and inflict some rather nasty wounds against Slavina's plant flesh.
The [Demon Knight] recoiled from the strike, [Chaos] festering in the wounds, but Pegasoar wasn't quite done yet.
The propeller that was located at the front of Pegasoar's chest suddenly began to glow with a dark green light before releasing an energetic copy of itself.
Immediately after manifesting this propeller, Pegasoar grabbed it by the bolt hole in the middle and slammed it into Slavina's shoulder.
More specifically, into the shoulder that was connected to the giant wooden claw he had just amputated with his earlier attack.
[Gah! You little shit, I'll skewer you!]
Enraged by the pain, Slavina rapidly grew and released from her back a volley of giant spikes that were aimed directly at Pegasoar's torso.
[Oh shit!]
These spikes, unlike the thorns from earlier, were about the size of baseballs and didn't carry any poisons inside them.
Evidently, Slavina had given up on the idea of enslaving Pegasoar in favor of simply perforating the man with holes.
Or at the very least, have those spikes fuck up whatever internal engine that was inside of Pegasoar's torso.
Understanding this motive, Pegasoar danced through the air once more and narrowly avoided disaster.
For good measure, he also repositioned himself so that he was a couple feet away from the weedy bitch.
[I don't get it, I don't get it, I don't get it!] Slavina complained while expending aether and [Chaos] to repair the damage that had been done to her beautiful body.
[How is that you're able to avoid my attacks so easily?! This goes beyond simply agility; it seems like you know my every move and then some! How?!]
Pegasoar was initially going to ignore Slavina's whining and release another fake attack upon her. However, at that exact moment, he sensed that Rail Horn had decided to reveal the truth to Gumba moments before going in for the attack.
'Huh...that's a funny reaction...alright, fuck it.'
Finding the idea absolutely hilarious, Pegasoar decided to do something similar.
^You want to know how I'm able to avoid your tricks so easily?^ Pegasoar asked in a sarcastic tone of his native language. ^Long story short, it's because you used them to kill me before.^
[...what?]
Instead of saying anything further, Pegasoar released a burst of dark wind that temporarily engulfed his body and obscured his line of sight.
Once the wind had settled down, it revealed that Pegasoar had transformed into a lithe young man with curly hair and dark green eyes that made him stand out amongst his brothers.
^Remember me, now?^
[You?!] Slavina screamed in alarm at the sight of this mortal form. [Impossible! I killed you myself; how are you alive?!]
Slavina, unlike her kin, was usually rather creative with how she ordered her victims to kill themselves. As such, she had a very good memory when it came to exact victims and how long they survived before ultimately succumbing to their wounds and demise.
In the case of Pegasoar's human past, she remembered having the man coil one of her thorny vines all around his face and neck before having him squeeze so hard that he had not only suffocated but also had spikes pierce the soft tissues of his head.
It was a gruesome, very memorable death.
[How the hell are you alive?!] Slavina snarled at the idea of incomplete work. [Wait, no, how the fuck are you a Kaijin?!]
Satisfied at the reaction, Pegasoar changed himself back before charging in to attack.
[To borrow a phrase from my new War Chief, FUCK YOU, THAT'S HOW!]
