Chapter 1338: Time Skip: Part 1
*Bing-Bong*
Oh...you were serious about implementing an actual time skip for once?
Yes.
I thought you disliked time skips because, and I quote, "they allow for the writers to be incredibly lazy with having to implement changes to a character".
No, that's not it. I don't like time skips without any explanations. Plus, do you really think our audience would enjoy weeks upon weeks of writing about how to mundanely plan a revolution?
Probably not, no.
Exactly. Which is why we're just going to do a highlight reel.
You mean a montage?
If this ever gets illustrated or animated, yes.
You know they're probably gonna skip any mention of this, right?
Unless they decide to go with a meta route...either way, help me load this thing and get back to work.
Aye aye...oh shit, the button got pressed.
STOP DOING THAT!
DON'T BLAME ME, IT'S BEEN ACTING UP EVER SINCE WE GOT OUR ROOM INVADED THE LAST TIME.
*Bing-Bong*
...
P.S.
The days are going to alternate between "Top Side" and "Under Side" and will be labelled with the most interesting event to happen that particular day.
That is all.

Day 1: Under side - Clarifying the Revolution, a discussion between Zhen Xing, Taurna, and Lyona.
...
"So...let me get this straight. You represent a force that has an interest in taking out the leader of the mines, but have no interest in taking over the mines?"
"Yes."
"As such, you need somebody like Sister Lyona to be the representative figurehead for this assassination/rebellion of yours, because the force behind you also dislikes the excessive slave abuse taking place here?," Taurna finished asking Zhen Xing before turning towards Lyona. "And you're okay with this plan?!"
"Yes."
"Just to clarify, we're from a part of the world where slavery doesn't exist and is against the idea, so..."
"Wait, places without slavery exist?"
"That's a whole other can of worms, but yes."
"Huh..."
"Now with the questions out of the way," Lyona said before directing her attention towards Zhen Xing. "The voice in my head said that you'd be able to help me come around to a shocking revelation for some kind?"
"I can?"
"You can't?"
"No, I just don't appreciate being left out to hang, Nepherage," Zhen Xing complained. "But let's start with the obvious: what do you know about [Chaos]?"
"It's the thing that makes the kaijin immune to aether," Lyona answered. "But I get the feeling that there's a lot more to it?"
"Well..."
...
Day 6: Top side - Zhen Liu's notes on Obsidious.
Name: Obsidious
Core focus: Hatred
Description:
Dante states that Obsidious was the very first kaijin he ever created, and that he was originally a first tiered Fire Rat. More than once, Dante assumed that Obsidious would get devoured by one of the kaijin that were from significantly larger and more predatory stock, but was happily proven wrong again and again.
Multiple kaijin had attempted to dethrone the rat king of hate, but they all fell to his fury.
Extremely dangerous, ice [Chaos] is recommended.
Personal note: I swear to the heavens, I have heard this motherfucker talk to himself in an unhealthy manner...and I'm the one saying that. I'm pretty sure the kaijin is a mild push into imploding.
...
Day 17: Under side - Lyona commands respect.
[Lyona, are you okay?]
'I am fine, Nepherage. Why do you ask?'
[Don't lie to me. I'm in your head, so I know what you're really feeling. I can tell that you seem a bit melancholic today.]
'Fair enough...just thinking about the past.'
Two weeks had passed since Lyona had her entire life turned upside down.
In the span of a day, she had learned that there was more than one Kaijin Lord in existence, learned about the power of [Chaos], and agreed to become the next rebel leader of the mines...a position that she felt was too heavy of a burden for her to bear.
More than once, Nepherage could feel that Lyona was comparing herself to the previous leaders.
More than once, she could feel the anxiety in her stomach boil due to her imagining how she'd suffer the same fate as they did.
On the comforting side, she had learned that her sister by bond, Maggie, had managed to escape to the outside...but had decided to stick around after learning about the mysterious "benefactor" who wanted to take down the False Lord.
While most people wouldn't appreciate the idea of having a shadow sponsor, Lyona found the idea somewhat comforting.
She knew her strengths and weaknesses quite well, one had to be if they were an Anima Wielder.
Lyona knew that fighting was her forte and violence was her field of expertise.
This was great if she was on the battlefield, but these were awful talents to have when attempting to lead people.
Thankfully, Nepherage was able to provide pointers from the inside of her head.
[Well, worry about your past later. Right now, we gotta convince this pit boss in following your lead.]
'Right.'
After getting over her mental block for the time being, Lyona leaped back on to her feet and stared down her opponent, a bear Bloodliner who looked rather shocked at this turn around.
"How the hell are you able to take my strongest moves so easily?!"
"Because I'm better than you."
"But you're clearly a stage lower than me!"
"Then fuck you, that's how!'
...
Day 38: Top Side
Personal Log: The Mutant Zakos
For the very first time, I was able to secure one of these strange mutated zakos without alerting Dante and his entourage of sadistic twats.
It was honestly incredibly lucky, and I had to bury myself in the dirt for about half an hour, but I managed to find an opportunity where I could finally take one down to study.
Evidently, this turned out to be...enlightening in an nearly fatal manner.
These zakos were essentially hollowed out version of mine, with their internals filled with cursed aether as opposed to [Chaos].
Cursed aether based on [Desires] no less.
The one I secured was apparently loaded with a curse that causes endless hunger, and almost caused me to go on an eating spree.
Granted, I only found out about this curse when it self-destructed in my face.
Joke was on them though, because my [Chaos] was aligned with this kind of shit, and it was going to take a lot more than a close contact explosion to take my ass out.
I did end up with a lot of splinters, though.
Regardless, I definitely needed more data points than what I currently had.
As such, I was going to have to plan to capture more zakos...in the dead of night.
On the plus side, this event was going to be pretty common for the foreseeable future.
These weird mutant children of mine are starting to use pack tactics and it's pissing off Dante something fierce.
I expect this shit to last another month or so...maybe less.
...
Day 45: Under Side
Lyona and Taurna waited in the rebel hideout with anticipation manifesting as shaking legs.
Today was a big day for the girls, and it was going to be the absolute lynchpin reason whether or not they stick around or blow the cover off this entire stupid endeavor.
Well, in Lyona's eyes at least.
Taurna was...another question.
"Taurna."
"Yeah, sis?"
"I want you to be completely honest with me."
"Okay..."
"Did you sleep with Zhen Tai?"
"What the fuck?" Taurna asked with an absolutely bewildered expression on her face."W-why would you ask that now? Especially at a time like this?"
"Look, woman. This is a potentially emotionally devastating reunion for the both of us, and I needed to ask something to break the tension that is boiling in both of our stomachs," Lyona explained herself. "Plus, I have seen the way you two have been looking at each other and I needed to know if the reason why he's been dealing with a sore back is because of—"
Thankfully, before Lyona could make the moment significantly more awkward by asking whether or not the six foot something cowgirl rode the slightly shorter snake boy like a wild stallion, the aformentioned snake boy slid in through the hidden tunnel connected to the hideout.
"Hey, I'm here."
"Oh thank the gods."
And shortly after Zhen Tai had landed, he was joined by a tall, gazelle-type Bloodliner.
"Oh my gods..."
Needless to say, it was none other than their eldest sister, Maggie.
"Huh...I guess you weren't lying about finding the old hideout," Maggie commented as she swept her gaze across the room. "I sincerely thought that after everything went to pot that—"
"MAGGIE!"*2
"BAH!"
Before Maggie could finish her thought, both Lyona and Taurna tackle-hugged her at the exact same time.
Big tears and ugly cries escaped from their faces as they did.
"Why'd you fake your death on us?!"
"I thought we agreed to escape together!"
