Chapter 209 Always Explaining
A gentle breeze passed, leaving the Moon God's heart ice-cold.
The purity of my Divine Soul is gone, and so is the purity of my body. What could be more despairing than this?
And the creator of all this was the bastard standing before her.
What the Moon God found utterly unacceptable was that he was actually trying to explain himself. How infuriating! He took advantage of me and now he's feigning innocence?
"Don't look at me like that," Chen Pingping snorted coldly. "I ask you, did you cultivate the Six Tao?"
The Moon God was speechless. What is he talking about?
"Did you or did you not?" Chen Pingping pressed.
"Yes!"
"The Six Tao of Reincarnation? Or the Six Tao Reincarnation Fist?"
"Fist!"
"That's it!" Chen Pingping analyzed carefully. "I cultivate the Six Tao, and you cultivate the complete Six Tao Reincarnation Fist. When we deployed our Divine Souls, they fused on their own. In fact, my Divine Soul was imprinting the Six Tao Reincarnation Fist from deep within your Divine Soul. As for why this happened, I'm not too clear either."
Of course, it was because of that bastard system, he thought. But I can't explain it like that.
The Moon God frowned. Only then did she recall his earlier attack; it seemed something like that had indeed happened.
But is it really possible for Divine Souls that both cultivate the Six Tao to fuse upon collision? she wondered. I've never even heard of such an absurd thing.
Chen Pingping continued, "You see, that's the issue. It has nothing to do with me. I've been trying to explain, but you just wouldn't listen."
"So? You just took advantage of me like that?" The Moon God was enraged.
HUH? This...? Chen Pingping's face flushed red. "Who told you to make me angry?" he retorted.
The Moon God was incredulous. WOW! By his logic, after our Divine Souls fused, I wasn't even allowed to be angry? And then what did he do? How long did it last? How many times? I've lost count! It felt as long as a century!
The more the Moon God thought about it, the more wronged she felt. She was a high-ranking general of the Ming Tribe and the lofty Moon God. In all her past years, she had never been in close contact with any man.
Chen Pingping, however, had gone all the way in one go, and he was still trying to explain that it wasn't his fault!
After everything that's happened, does he still think explanations are needed?
The Moon God felt utterly wronged.
"Alright, alright. If it's such a big deal, I'll just 'fix' it for you by pressing it back," Chen Pingping said impatiently.
"You bastard!" she shouted angrily.
"There, you see? I offered you a chance, and you don't want it." Chen Pingping shook his head helplessly. "This is why I say you women are so bothersome."
The Moon God was infuriated. She had never encountered someone so shamelessly brazen—he had clearly benefited yet kept insisting he was faultless.
She glared at him, wanting to draw her sword, but the pain below was too intense, and her physical condition wasn't good. If she tried to fight, not only would she likely lose to Chen Pingping, but who knew if this scoundrel would use it as another excuse to take advantage of her.
So, she endured it for the moment.
"Your clothes are gone. Wear mine," Chen Pingping said.
"I won't!" she declared proudly. Even if I die, I will not wear his clothes!
HEH HEH!
Chen Pingping chuckled. I wasn't sure if the Moon God had other clothes with her, but after hearing that, I'm certain she doesn't.
With that thought, he gave the Moon God's body a thorough once-over. Everything that should be there is there. Perfect curves, skin like snow, tender and soft... WOW... Looking at her, I'm feeling that urge again.
He shook his head, forcing himself to calm down. Then, he tossed her a set of clothes. "I've set up a few Arrays around here. I reckon they can hold for another eight to ten minutes. Once the Arrays break, a lot of people will rush in. You'll have to bear the consequences yourself!"
The Moon God was silent for a moment.
Biting her lip and silently cursing Chen Pingping as a bastard, she reluctantly put on his clothes.
Though it was men's attire, she looked surprisingly stylish in it. She exuded an air of scholarly gentleness and elegance, handsome to a fault.
Chen Pingping was quite pleased. He smiled and said, "Not bad, not bad. It fits you well." After a pause, he added, "From now on, you'll follow me."
"In your dreams!" she glared at Chen Pingping.
"Oh? Does that mean you don't want me to take responsibility?" Chen Pingping's eyes brightened.
The Moon God fell silent again. I despise this man. If it weren't for him, I would have completed my mission to kill Zi Ji long ago and returned to the Netherworld. But now... HMM! Due to a bizarre twist of fate, I ended up being violated by him. If I don't make him take responsibility, I won't be able to live with myself. But if I let him take responsibility, I feel so unwilling. This bastard is a complete scoundrel, from head to toe; there's not a single thing about him that's pleasing to the eye. Especially that face—HMPH—it's clearly the face of a pretty boy. And that mouth of his, spouting nothing but nonsense, good for nothing but lying!
Thinking this, she couldn't stop herself from yelling, "You wish!"
Damn it! As soon as the words left her mouth, the Moon God regretted them. I am a great general of the Ming Tribe. I am destined to return to the world of the Ming. Everything that happened on the Heaven Martial Continent is nothing but a dream.
HAHAHA!
Chen Pingping burst out laughing. "From now on, you're my woman!"
"I am not!" she stubbornly retorted.
"So you don't want me to take responsibility?"
"I don't know!" She shook her head, her heart in turmoil.
"Fine then! You decide!" Chen Pingping said helplessly. "Anyway, I've already given myself to you. You decide what to do."
The Moon God's face turned rigid. HUH? What kind of utter nonsense is this? He gave himself to me? Does he have any shame at all? She remained silent, struggling internally.
After a long while, she seemed to have calmed down. Her gaze returned to its usual tranquility as she said, "Go. Leave Central Continent and never come back!"
"Why?" Chen Pingping was taken aback.
"Your existence already threatens certain people. They will definitely act against you, and you won't be able to withstand them," the Moon God explained.
"Is it because of Zi Ji?"
"Yes!"
"Then I have even more reason not to leave." Chen Pingping shook his head. "Zi Ji is my junior martial sister. I can't abandon her."
"So? Between me and Zi Ji, you're decisively choosing Zi Ji, is that right?" The Moon God's eyes widened.
"I choose both."
Idiot! she thought. How could you possibly protect Zi Ji? That individual at the end of the Heavenly Road is one of the most powerful generals of the Ming Tribe. How could you ever defeat him? Is it worth it, all for Zi Ji?
The Moon God took a deep breath, unwilling to dwell on the topic. She turned around. "I won't concern myself with you anymore. Whether you live or die is your own decision."
Chen Pingping pondered.
She continued, "Don't overthink it. Let's just consider everything that happened today a dream. After all, we are not from the same world."
She seemed to revert to her usual self, her rationality taking hold. How could a great general of the Ming Tribe fall in love with a human cultivator? Once that individual at the end of the Heavenly Road makes their move and kills Zi Ji, we will return to the Netherworld. And everything involving Chen Pingping can only be a dream, like a flower in the mirror or the moon in the water.
The Moon God said no more. After the Array shattered, she strode away.
Chen Pingping stood with his hands behind his back, watching her depart. His eyes darted around, his thoughts unreadable.
This woman's figure is truly amazing, he mused. She really deserves the title of Central Continent's Number One Beauty! It's just that her mind seems a bit off.
「Soon after.」
Chen Pingping returned to Phoenix Tower, only to be met with envious gazes from a group of people.
Meng blinked, then chuckled slyly. "Did you get her?"
"No, she's very powerful. She got away," Chen Pingping said, feigning annoyance.
"Stop pretending! Someone saw the Moon God leaving while wearing your clothes!" Meng said with a mischievous grin. "Guess if that someone was me?"
Chen Pingping was speechless.
