It was an aggressive monster that would rush the moment it saw humans on the first sight despite being a chicken, but it tasted just like chicken.

「Hehehe~, are you curious? You must be curious ri~ght?」

Hayama-kun was wearing the smuggest look on his face.

「Well then Kyouko, let's prepare the salmons first.」

「Listen to my activity and the great debut of the red lance!」

It's okay, I know how hard you worked even without your explanation.

I mean, it was obvious from the splendid, charred wind hole opened on the kokko's head and the nonexistent external wound on its body. In short, you killed it with one splendid stab on the head.

Since the red lance didn't have auto-aiming feature, it meant Hayama-kun hit the target purely with his own skill. Though, it might have just been a lucky shot.

Anyway, it was good that the function of the enchanted weapon was proven immediately.

「Since we've gathered enough ingredients, we might be able to depart tomorrow.」

「Oooh, dungeon capture at last! I'm all fired up!」

My bad Hayama-kun, this dungeon in another world isn't quite like the game you imagined.

A week after arriving in another world, Hayama-kun reached the entrance of the dungeon, by the small shrine, on foot. Considering his speed, it was among the fastest.

To reach the wasteland area where Yamata no Orochi was, we'd have to traverse as many areas as we'd already covered so far, which made it feel like there was still a long way to go.

However, the current Kyouko and I had enough power to defeat every single one of the area bosses. And the rest was up to Hayama-kun's growth.

「Let's use rank formation like before.」

Rem and Kinako were the vanguard, Hayama-kun was the middle guard, Kyouko and I were the rear guard. Lastly, Beniwo was the all-rounder for being the one with the highest mobility among us.

The core of this party was Kyouko.

With Mei-chan and Souma-kun absent, our vanguard was far from ideal. In critical moments, we'd have to rely on Kyouko's earth magic. Its power as advanced offensive magic, combined with the sturdy walls honed through construction work. Their rapid deployment provided both offensive strength and reliable defense.

If enemies were too overwhelming for the vanguard to hold off or if we're ambushed from behind, we should be able to withstand both situations with the defense provided by Kyouko's earth magic.

Thus, I wouldn't focus on attacking carelessly but more on the defense instead.

「Man, this place really gives a dungeon-ish vibe.」

To us, it was just the same old stone corridor we were used to, but Hayama-kun was glancing around curiously like a tourist, his eyes darting everywhere. He was remarkably restless.

Kinako in the front line was walking very seriously, staying on high alert. His bunny ears were twitching, likely picking up the surrounding sounds really carefully.

「You're so lucky, Hayama-kun. You don't walk to this place by yourself.」

The one who reacted first was Kinako.

Following that, Rem, who was walking alongside Kinako, transformed into her Dark Knight's form.

The vanguards cast wary glances in the direction of the room we had just been talking about. Could it be that gomas were really gathering over there?

「Okay, gomas or whatever, come what may!」

As Hayama-kun brandished his Red Lance and let out a slightly shaky but valiant roar, the enemies made their appearance.

「The heck, ain't that just a skeleton!?」

「Yup, it's just a skeleton.」

Clattering their bones noisily as they burst out of the room, the enemies turned out to be Skeletons—yet another familiar low-level fodder monster from the early stages.

Seeing the unarmed, barehanded Skeletons really reminded me of the fact that this was truly an early-stage area.

As expected, the bare-handed Skeletons, competing with gomas for the bottom of the food chain, were shattered by Kinako and Rem the moment they appeared. Rem didn't even use her sword—she just charged forward with her shield raised, knocking the entire group away in one go.

Of course, there was no need for Hayama-kun to step in.

「There are also zombies and other monsters around. Well, gomas have a bit more intelligence, which makes them more troublesome.」

「Uh, I see.」

Hayama-kun awkwardly lowered his spear, extinguishing the flame that had been flickering at its tip.

No need to get all fired up.

「Fuwaa…」

And then, Kyouko, who was yawning next to me without even glancing at the skeletons, seemed to be taking it a little too casually.

「… This forest dome area is quite vast.」

I guessed our current position upon seeing the ceiling and wall that spread to the side.

We walked along the corridor while crushing the skeletons we met along the way, and eventually emerged in the forest dome.

At first glance, there was no change in the vegetation. However, I knew that it was definitely the forest dome that I was familiar with, but this one seemed larger than any dome I'd seen before. There might be something here.

Naturally, all of those gomas were dispatched with ease, Hayama-kun didn't get his turn.

"I kind of want to see the Red Lance used in battle soon, though—?" But I knew that if I said that, he'd probably get really discouraged, so I decided not to tease him.

As we continued walking through the forest dome, ending every single random battle encounter into one turn kill game, I suddenly noticed it.

「Oo, what a huge ruin!」

The trees of the forest suddenly came to an end, and we arrived in a huge meadow with a dozens of meters tall tower standing tall in its center.

「Kotaro, don't you think that tower's kind of similar to the one we saw in the underground lake?」

「Even the size is pretty much the same.」

The jungle tower was bigger than this, and the school tower was even bigger.

Just as Kyouko had said, this tower in the forest dome seemed to be the same size and structure as the one where we staged a siege against the jiras army at the underground lake.

「In that case, there's nothing inside.」

「Nevertheless, we don't seem to have to camp out in the wild after all.」

Since there was a tower here, we might as well make use of it. It's decided, we'd spend the night here.

Now let's see the interior of the tower first.

Hayama-kun's voice echoed in the tower as he looked at the spiral staircase welded to the wall.

It had a simple lighthouse-like structure with seemingly nothing left to investigate. But I should at least climb to the top floor to confirm that.

「There might be a room in the rooftop.」

Thus, I headed toward the rooftop by myself, along with Arachne Rem as a support in case of emergency.

There was no door, and upon looking at the inside, it turned out to be just an empty room. There wasn't even an obstruction that could be used by the gomas for hiding.

「Is that by chance an altar?」

There was an altar-like pedestal in the center of the seemingly empty room.

Unlike the altar in the goma village, this one had a design similar to the sacrificial teleportation stone slab that Higuchi tried to use.

In the past, I would have ignored it since I lacked the skills to make use of any potential functionality, but…

「The current me should be able to decipher the ancient language enough to be able to use the teleportation function.」
